Cassie Myers Getman

CONCORD - Cassie Myers Getman, 87, 138 Scenic Drive, died Tuesday, Aug.10, 2004, at NorthEast Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday at First Foursquare, Concord. The Rev. Jeff Burris will officiate. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord.

Born Oct. 16, 1916, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Vergie McLaurin and William David McLaurin. She was retired from working as a weaver and was a member of First Foursquare Church in Concord.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Lee Myers; a daughter, Tonnie Caudill; and by her parents, William David McLaurin and Vergie McLaurin.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Getman, Concord; a son, William Joe Myers, Kannapolis; a stepson, Terry Getman, Asheville; a sister, Louise Wentz, Monroe; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of arrangements.
