The remains of Mrs. Robert Noxon were brought to Camden Tuesday afternoon from Poughkeepsie, where she died on Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Martin. Mrs. Noxon had suffered several paralytic strokes, the last of which was the direct cause of her death. Many of our older inhabitants will well remember the deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Noxon came here from Bennington, Vt., and occupied a farm near the Seventh for a number of years prior to twenty years ago. From here they returned to Bennington and later went to Poughkeepsie. Besides the only daughter heretofore mentioned, deceased is survived by a step-son, John Anderson of Troy. While here Mrs. Noxon was a member of the Presbyterian church. Her remains were placed in the receiving vault at Forest Park Cemetery, a prayer and appropriate remarks being offered by Rev. E. N. Manley, her former pastor, and later they will be interred in the family plot beside her husband. The remains were accompanied here by Grover Martin, a grandson.

- Obituary (The Advance - Journal, Camden, NY, Thursday, April 1, 1886)
The death of this man, but just past the half way of life, at his father’s on the S. T. Wood’s farm, was a surprise to nearly every one. He had been sone time in the west. His health failing be went by medical advice to Hot Springs, Arkansas. A few baths deciding that the treatment was unavailing for him, he at once set out alone for Camden, which he barely reached, after three days and nights continuous travel, on the evening of March 11th — “come home," as he said “to die.” Despite all that medical aid with tenderest paternal and fraternal care could do, he passed away at noon of the 15th day.
“Harmies” generous nature and genial ways have won for him devoted friends during his few years’ acquaintance in town, whose attendance and attentions at the funeral, on Tuesday, testified to their sincere and hearty sympathy with the stricken family circle.
