Leo Deloss Crocker

 - When Lois and Leo and their children went to live in the Peace River country in August 1930, 300 miles northwest of Edmonton Alta Ca they traveled by train from Rowley to Hines Creek which was and still is the end of the railroad on that line. leo had filed a claim on a quarter-section of land. Some of his brothers and their father helped with the moving and the building of their poplar log cabin in which they lived for seven years. later they built a spruce log house .Here they raised their family of 10 children. One grandaughter Ella Palotas lived with them when her mother died shortly after Ellas birth...Ellas sister was Agnes raised by an Aunt...Etnie Olive(Crocker) Moskalyk. Had 320 acres of land...65-70 acres cleared. (Frye)

 - From Candis Jean Moskalyk: Worked as a janitor at David Thompson Elementary School in Kamloops school crossing guard in Kamloops.
 - Had a stroke in about 1965....she took birth control pills and when she found she had missed some days took them all on one day.
 - Was a very good gardener... inside and outside the flowers and garden always flourished.
 - Was a good knitter... making slippers for her children every Xmas... sweaters and mitts every fall.
 - Was a very good baker making many loaves of bread for her children while they were growing up.
 - She sewed and altered clothing during those years also.
 - Developed Diabetes 1960's (I believe).
 - In an e-mail from Candis, regarding her mother's funeral, came the following... "We had a very nice service and tea. Three of her siblings made it to Kamloops: Ethel, the oldest, from Aldergrove BC; Leo,the oldest boy and his wife from Ottawa, Ontario; Lila, the youngest from Alberta."

 -  Met Juanita when he was 15 and she 8...but they did not find romance together till 1934. Berl worked for her father in the dairy business and the two families were well aquainted.
  - Berl built a 32 unit motel and all the furniture which they operated...named Pacific Motel on Highway 99 Vanc Washington. for 10 years..they sold it in 1956.
 -Berl went back to the construction business and developed property.
  Enjoyed hunting and fishing. Sang in the choir at church...Trinity Evangelical..in Vanc Wash. Belongs to parent teacher associations and Boy Scouts.

 - Personal information (Getman Genealogy questionaire 1965)
  I am a building contractor, building homes, and specialize in interior finish work for kitchens, party rooms and furniture. I built a 32-unit motel and all the furnature therein in 1946. We operated the motel 10 years before selling it to enter the business of building homes. In 1956 I developed 7 1/2 acres of view property, subdividing, it into 18 lots and built five homes for slae including our own home which is built on tyhe crest of one of the highest hills north of Vancouver, Washington. We have  panoramic view of Vancouver, Wash. and Portland, Oregon, Mt. Hood, Oregon, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St Helens Washington. We are active members of Trinity Luthern Church, Vancouver, Wash, and have coached and managed Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball teams since our son was 8 years old. He was voted most valuable player of Columbia River High School baseball team, 1964 and is a;so on the varsity football team. My wife Juanita, is an accountant.
