Dear Family, Children, Cousins, and Best Friends:
With immense sorrow we inform you that Mom, Grandma, Aunt Clara Mains Getman has broken the bonds of earth, as the last of her generation in our extended family to join the great Cloud of saintly witnesses. She died peacefully in her sleep, with Cindy present, early this morning January 22, 20 days after her exuberant 100th birthday celebrations. Mom has left us, all of the next generations, to likewise live in newness of life faithful to trust the Lord's promises and calling.
Riches I heed not,
nor man's empty praise.
Thou mine inheritance
through all my days.
Thou and Thou only
the first in my heart:
High King of Heaven,
my treasure Thou art.
No one I have know was more true as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grand mother, and care giver to friends and family than Mom. Last Saturday at her bedside her 5 children and spouses, with hymns and prayers, said farewell and Godspeed to meet again those who have gone before.
Details will follow in formal obituary about her memorial service to be held at Bill's church in Haddonfield, NJ, after burial in Waldorf, MD., next to Dad Jerry Getman in the next several days .
Thank you for your prayers as we grieve her irreplaceable loss and rejoice in her unwavering reflection of Jesus through all of her days in our midst.
With great love and appreciation for each of you and your families,
Tom (and Jim, Cindy, Chuck, Bill and spouses)- Obituary (Find A Grave)
