SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Alice Dancy Good, 89, of Chestnut Street and formerly of both Albany and Schenectady, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at Glens Falls Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Schenectady, she was a trained beautician and area homemaker.
Wife of the late Adam Good and mother of the late Setphen M. Good, she is survived by four daughters; Frances E. Good of Macon, Ga., Susanna Laviolette of Saratoga, Anna M. Plait and Priscilla Mons both of Schenectady and seven sons; Daniel P. Good of Indianapolis, Ind., Peter J. Good of Saratoga, Alexander J. Good of Ballston Spa, Thomas A. Good of Elko, Nev., Adam J., and David J. Good, both of South Glens Falls, 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Frederick Funeral Home, 16 Mannign Square (where Clinton and Central Avenues meet).
Interment will be at Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.

CORINTH — Adam J. Good, 83, of Warren Street in Corinth and formerly of South Glens Falls, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Crescent Manor Nursing Home following a long illness.
Adam was born Sept. 27, 1930, in Schenectady, the eldest son of the late Adam Good and Alice (Dancy) Good.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked for New York Central Railroad before retiring and starting a second career as a bus driver for Trailways and Tauck Tours, making many friends along the way and racking up many safe driving miles.
In addition to his parents, Adam was predeceased by his wife, Sharon R. Good.
He is survived by his dear friend of many years, Eleanor Reese of Altamont, and her daughters, who called him "Dad," J. Leslie Becker, Deborah Kirstein of Poughkeepsie and Susan (Rick) Tymchyn of Altamont; his godson, Mitchell Seymour; his siblings, Benjamin (Fran) Good of Guilderland, Peter Good of Saratoga Springs, Susanna Lloyd of Saratoga Springs and Anne Plati of Bennington, Vermont; and many nieces and nephews, including his great-niece, Bonnie Sharon Walerstein. He was cared for at home in the last years of his life by his nieces, Vallen Mayes and Jessica Walerstein. He was very much loved and will be truly missed by his sisters-in-law, Sharie (Jay) Walerstein of Corinth, Garnet (John) Neve of Queensbury, Mickeylee (Rusty) Monroe of Warrensburg, Sheila (Ed) Carpenter of Warrensburg and Colleen (Jerry) Combs of Chestertown.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. June 6, 2014, at Southside Cemetery in South Glens Falls.

Frances E. Good, 77, entered her Eternal Home on Monday, December 2, 2013 from a local hospital. A celebration of her earthly life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Neyman will officiate. The family will meet friends from 1 p.m. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home. They suggest that those who wish make memorial contributions to Hephzibah Children's Home, 6601 Zebulon Road, Macon 31210.
Ms. Good, daughter of the late Adam and Alice Dancy Good, was born in Schenectady, NY and had lived in Macon most of her life. She served as a relief Houseparent at Hephzibah Children's Home retiring after twenty-five years. She accepted the Lord at the age of seventeen and he has guided her life daily and began her ministry of helping others in whatever capacity she was able. She was a member of Macon Wesleyan Church where she often helped with the church mail-outs. She was known lovingly as "Froggie" where her children started giving her frogs and her collection has grown to over 1000 frogs today. She was known to be strong willed and determined to follow her course. Ms. Good served as a volunteer at Coliseum Northside Hospital and was recognized for 5200 volunteer hours there. Miles 0. Hill, 60, of 729 1/2 W. Bloomfield St., a meat cutter at the Rome State School for the past six years, died Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Utica.
He was born Dec. 27, 1905 in Turin son of Orrin and Addie May Cook Hill. His younger life was spent in Turin where he graduated from high school. He later attended Potsdam State Teachers College and for several years operated a store and meat market at Turin.
Mr. Hill and the former Mary Reed were married in Turin on March 10, 1333. They came to Rome in 1942. Mr. Hill was employed by the General Cable Corp. for 18 years.
He was a member of the Turin Methodist Church and Turin Lodge, F&AM.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Robert and Parmer Hill, both of Rome; Orrin Hill, Turin, and Thomas Hill stationed with the U.S. Army at Fort Gordon, Ga.; three granddaughters, and one sister. Mrs. Ralph (Myra) Gleasman, Turin.

Mrs. Mary E. Hill, 65, of 215 Richardson Ave., Utica, formerly of Rome, died Tuesday, June 10, 1980 in Rose Hospital, after being hospitalized since May 26.
Born in Port Leyden on April 1, 1915, she was a daughter of Willard and Myrtle Benedict Reed. She graduated from Turin High Shcool, and on March 10, 1934, she was married to Miles O. Hill in Turin. He died Jan. 29, 1966. Mrs. Hill had been employed as an attendant at Rome Developmental Center for26 years, retiring in 1971 due to poor health.
She had lived in Rome for 30 years before moving to Utica in 1973. Mrs. Hill was a member of First Methodist Church, Rome, and Holly Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are four sons, Orrin W. Hill, Turin; Robert M. Hill and Parmer H. Hill, both of Rome and Thomas K. Hill, Peterboro; three sisters, Mrs. James (Mildred) Durr, Ogdensburg; and Mrs. Irving (Josephine) Kraeger, Constableville, and seven grandchildren.
Services were held Friday at the Trainor Funeral Home, Boonville, with burial in Turin
Cemetery.

TURIN — Ralph J. Gleasman, 64, died this morning at his home on North State street.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at his home. Burial will be in Turin cemetery.
Friends may call at his home Tuesday and Wednesday.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myra Hill Gleasman; his mother, Mrs. Dora Gleasman, Boonville; a son, Keith, Turin, two brothers, Stuart of Clinton and Howard, Boonville; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Platt, New Hartford, and Mrs. Dorothy Young, Talcotville.
He was born in the town of Ava Nov. 26, 1903, a son of Romeyn and Dora Zeigler Gleasman. After attending Boonville High school, he married Miss Myra Hill on Sept. 30, 1928, at LaFayette. The couple moved to Turin.
Mr. Gleasman operated a garage 20 years and was later employed as a plumber at boonville and Turin until he became ill in 1962.
He attended the Methodist Church.

Turin - Mrs. Jean M. Gleasman died on March 30, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. Gleasman was born at home in Lyonsdale on April 29, 1934, a daughter of the late Leith and Edith Pleskach Watson. She graduated from General Martin High School and from Central City Business Institute, in Syracuse. On June 7, 1953, she married Keith A. Gleasman at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lowville. Mr. Gleasman died on July 11, 1996. She worked for Revere Copper & Brass, Credit Union in Rome, retiring as manager, after many years of service. She was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church, and a life member of Zenith Copenhagen Chapter #346 Order of Eastern Star, having joined the former Turin chapter in 1952. She was a member of Singing Waters Senior Citizens, and was a member of a local Red Hat Society, and a member of Lake Bonaparte Conservation Club. She volunteered for various organizations in the area.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, flowers, traveling, and spending time at camp at Lake Bonaparte. She was a life long animal lover.
She is survived by a brother; three step-sisters; two step-brothers; one nephew and one niece.

Besides her husband she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Clair Pettit, Newark Valley; Mrs. Jack Ligo, Vestal and Miss Patricia E. Neary, Utica; Two sons, James R. and John A. Geary (sic), both of Utica; a brother, Maynard W. Higby, Utica, and four grandchildren.
