Turin, June 14,— Arthur E. Dickinson, 87, died Monday in Sunset Nursing home, Constableville.
The funeral was today at 2 p.m. at the Trainor funeral home with Rev. Robert North, pastor of Turin Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Turin cemetery.
Mr. Dickinson was born Jan. 2, 1879, in Turin and married Estella Cook on July 3, 1911. [sic] He had operated a service station in Martinsburg for years. His wife died in 1958.
He was a member of the Methodist church and a former member of Turin Lodge F. and A.M.

Fort Leyden — Robert J. Cook, 62, of Pearl St, a retired fanner, died yesterday
in his home.
He was born in Houseville, son of George and Jeanet Sabin Cook. He married Anna Salmon in Constableville in 1912. Mr. Cook, who retired six years ago, was a member of the Congregational Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Cominis, of Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Fred Miller, of Michigan; five sons, Donald, of Philadelphia, N.Y., Jerry Dorn Cook, of Collinsville, and Stanfort, robert and Kenneth, all of Port Leyden; 27 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, and a sister; Mrs. Beatrice Jenners of Lyons Falls.
The funeral will be at 1 Sunday from the Fields Funeral Home with the Rev. William Dean, pastor of the Congregational Church officiating. burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage.

Anna B. Cook, 84, formerly of East Main Street, Port Leyden, widow of Robert J. Cook, died Wednesday, March 26, in the Heritage Convalescent Hospital. Sacramento, Cal.
The funeral was Sunday, March 30, at the Field - Callaghan Funeral Home, Port Leyden, with Rev. Lawrence Hurley officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Carthage.
Mrs. Cook is survived by four sons, Donald F., Philadelphia, Kenneth, of Shirley, Mass., Robert, Carson City, Nev. and Dorn, Lowville; two daughters. Mrs. Wesley (Mary) Barrows, Indian River. Mich, and Mrs. Raymond (Vivian) Comins, Sacramento, Cal with whom Mrs. Cook resided for the last four years; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A son. Stanford, died June 6, 1978 and two daughters, Florence and Doris, died in infancy.
Mrs. Cook was born in the Town of Greig, July 6, 1895, the daughter of Bert and Florence Danks Salmons. She married Robert J. Cook on Nov. 28, 1912 in Constableville. He died Nov. 23, 1961. Mrs. Cook was a life-long resident of the Port Leyden area until she moved to California in 1976.

PORT LEYDEN — Stanford T. Cook, 59, of E. Mam St., a former construction worker at Snow Ridge, Turin, was pronounced dead at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowviile, after being stricken at home.
Born Sept. 4, 1918, in Turin, he was the son of Robert and Anna Salmon Cook. On March 19, 1960, he married Mae Merry Rhose in Port Leyden.
Educated in Lyons Falls schools, he was a veteran of World War II. A construction worker for many years, he worked at Snow Ridge from 1964 to 1971, when he retired due to ill health.
Mr. Cook was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church, Lyons Falls.
Surviving besides his wife and mother of Sacramento, Calif., are four stepsons, Philip Rhose, Chitenango; Lloyd Rhose, Watertown; Floyd Rhose, Ocean Side, Calif., and James Rhose, Utica; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Barbara Lalone and Mrs. Michael (Donna) LaLone, both of Carthage and Mrs. David (Victoria) Green, Lowville; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Vivian) Cummings, Sacremento, Calif., and Mrs Wes (Mary) Barrows, Michigan; four brothers, Conald Cook, Philadelphia, Robert Cook, Carson City, Nev.; Dorn Cook, Martinsburg and Kenneth Cook, Massachusetts; 22 grandchildren.

Mae E. Cook, 65, who resided at the home of George Jackson, Route 1, Carthage, formerly of Port Leyden, widow of Stanford T. Cook, died Saturday, Sept. 14, in the Carthage Area Hospital, Carthage, where she had been a patient for three days.
The funeral was Monday, Sept. 16, at the Callaghan Funeral Home, Port Leyden, with Rev. Richard Devendors officiating.
Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls.
She is survived by four sons, Phillip Rhone, Lloyd Rhone and James Rhone, all of Carthage, and Floyd Rhone, Oceanside. Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Ken (Barbara) Williams, Pulaski, Mrs. Michael (Donna) LaLone, Carthage, and Mrs. David (Victoria) Green, Lowville; 22 grandchildren, including a granddaughter whom she raised, Mrs. Michael (Sheila) Fey, Boonville; ten great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Chris) Mooney, Port Leyden, and Mrs. Bertha Norton, Cicero.
A son, Richard Rhone, and a daughter, Linda Rhone, died before her.
Born in New Bremen on Jan. 28, 1920, the daughter of John and Kathryn Byer Merry, she attended local schools and worked as a bartender for many years at various hotels and restaurants in the area.
She married Samuel Rhone on Dec. 8, 1934. He died June 29, 1959. She married Stanford T. Cook on March 19, 1960. He died June 6, 1978.

Thursday morning, January 4th, at St. Luke's Hospital, Utica, occurred the death of Willard H. Reed of typhoid pneumonia. He was taken seriously ill at White Lake the Sunday previous, and it was thought advisable to remove him to the hospital. Willard H. Reed was the son of the late James M. and Mary Alexander Reed and was born in Turin, November 22, 1875. Practically all of his life was spent in and around Turin, where he followed the occupation of farming. September 11, 1905, he was united in marriage with Myrtle E. Sabin; of Turin, who survives. Mr. Reed was a kind neighbor, an indulgent husband and father, and will be greatly missed in his home. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Miller D., Pearl E., Bernard S., Lowell W., Donald J.; Mary E. and Mildred E., and by one brother, Leonard P. Reed, of Lowville, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Mack, of New Hartford, Ia. The funeral services, which were largely attended from his late home, Saturday at 1 p. m., were conducted by Rev. Walter Dobbie, assistant pastor of the Federated church. A quartette sang "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer My God to Thee." The floral offerings included carnations- from the Willing Workers Class of the Federated Sunday school and the Port Leyden Grange and a wreath fromthe family. The bearers were Henry Bailey, Fred Jones, Clinton Allen, William R. Jones, Roland Reed and LeRoy Reed. Friends from a distance who attended the funera were G. N. Allen Francis Hubbard, 73, died suddenly Wednestay at his home in Prineville. He was a resident of Bend for 15 years and moved to Prineville two years ago.
Latter Day sains funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Niswonger-Winslow funeral home.
Mr. Hubbard was born Feb. 2, 1880, in Iowa. He beloned to the Bend lodge of Moose.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie May; five sons, Captain Harold M. Shirley Faye Dickinson of Plainfield died June 21 at St. francis Hospital in Indianapolis. She was 71.
Born May 17, 1931, in Indiana, she was a daughte of the late George C. and Ruby Eleanor (Hannah) Dickinson.
Miss Dickinson worked 30 years as a librarian at he Plainfield Correctional Center. Previously, she had worked as a flight attendant at Braniff Airlines.
Survivors include a sister-in-law and Caregiver, Ruth Dickinson of Plainfield; a niece and caregiver, Tanya Dickinson-Mahan of Shelbyville, Ky.; and a great-niece.
Services were June 24 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield. Interment was in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Plainfield.

Ellis M. Coon, 84, of Sheldon, died Friday, December 6, 1989, at a hospital in Sheldon. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Sheldon. The Rev. Bruce Ursin will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon. Masonic services will be at 8 p.m. Sunday by Mistletoe Lodge #376 A.F.& A.M. of Sheldon at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.
Mr. Coon was born March 13, 1904, in Correctionville. He married Mary Dickinson April 13, 1931, in Des Moines. He owned and operated the L-Trio Grill for twenty years. He retired in 1968. He was a member of United Methodist Church and a fifty-year member of Mistletoe Lodge #376 A.F.&A.M.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Nola) Naughton of Iowa City, a sister, Mrs. James (Mildred) Ward of Holland, Michigan, and a brother, Gene of Arnolds Park, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.
Burial: 09 January 1989, East Lawn Cemetery, Sheldon, O'Brien Co., Iowa

Marriage Notes for Nola Dee Coon and John F Naughton

Miss Nola Coon, 521 North Dubuque Street, and Mr. John Naughton, 1408 Ash Street, were married at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas More Chapel.
The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Coon, Sheldon, Mr. Naughton is the son of Mrs. Gerald Naughton, 1408 Ash Street and the late Mr. Naughton.
The bride wore a floor-length pique gown with bateau neckline, elbow-length sleves, A-line skirt and watteau train trimmed with Venice lace. Her veil was held by a cluster of Venice lace dasies centered with pearls. She carried white dasies and white sweetheart roses.
Maid of honor was Miss Beatrice Furner, Iowa City, Bridesmatrons were Mrs. Bruce Clark, West Branch, and Mrs. Eugene Holst, Le claire, cousin of the bridegroom.
Their floor-length maize linen gowns were trimmed with Venic elace. Their head pieces were circles of white and yellow dasies, and they carried colonial bouguets of yellow and white dasies.
Mr. Daniel Naughton, Park Ridge, Ill., served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. James Harney and Mr. Gene Herdiska, both of Iowa City.
Ushers were the Messers. Thomas Naughton, Phillip Naughton, Joe Naughton, all of Iowa City, and Richard Naughton, Cedar Rapids, all brothers of the bridegroom.
A reception was held at the Ramada Inn.
Mrs. Naughteon is a teacher at Horace Mann school. Her husband is employed by Allied Construction Co. The couple will live at 521 North Dubuque Street.
