  BRIDGEWATER — Miss Diane Elizabeth Pritchard became the bride of Stanley Robert Edick at 1 yesterday in the Bridgewater Congregational Church. The Rev. Walter Hilles performed the double ring ceremony.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Pritchard, here. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley C. Edick, Mapledale Road.
  Mrs. John Sargent, Rome, the bride's sister and Drew Holcomb, Troy, were honor
attendants.
   Following a reception in the Deer Path Restaurant, New Berlin, the couple left on a trip to Bermuda. They will make their home at the Clinton House Apartments, Clinton.
  The new matron was graduated from the State University College at Oneonta, and teaches in the New Hartford Central School Systerm. The bridegroom, an alumnus of SUNY Brockport, teaches at Oriskany Falls School.

RICHFIELD SPRINGS, N.Y.
   Anna Vertucci Edick, age 77, of Prey Hill Road, passed away on Saturday morning, June 19, 2010, in Otsego Manor, Cooperstown, after an extended illness.
  She was born on September 25, 1932, in the town of Richfield, daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Famulare Vertucci. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. On July 22, 1961, she was united in marriage with John R. Edick in Saint Joseph’s Church, Richfield Springs. For thirty-six years, they shared a loving and devoted union. Mr. Edick preceded her in death on July 17, 1997.
  Mrs. Edick worked as a teacher’s assistant for the Richfield Springs Central School System for twenty years, retiring in 1999.
  Anna had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Church, Richfield Springs, where she sang in the church choir.
  She will always be remembered as a caring and dedicated person with a true sense of family. Mrs. Edick devoted a good part of her life to raising her handicapped son. In her leisure time, she enjoyed doing seamstress work for her many friends and family. She will be greatly missed by many.
  Surviving are two sons, Donald Edick, of Mohawk, and David Edick and his wife, Priscilla, of Richfield Springs; two brothers and their wives, James and Barbara Vertucci, of Stone Ridge, and Fred and Joy Vertucci, of Richfield Springs; two sisters, Margaret Lasher, of Weaverville, NC, and Theresa Oaks and her husband, Clifford, of Richfield Springs; a granddaughter, Sara Looman and her husband, Josh, of Ilion; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Zachary Looman; a brother-in-law, Cornelius Edick, of Richfield Springs; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
  Besides her parents and husband, John, she was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Anthony Vertucci, and four sisters, Mary Brown, Grace Avery, Rose Edick and Elizabeth Lyons.
  A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Friday, June 25, at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Joseph the Worker Church, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Terence Healy, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs, on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

  Cornelius J. Edick, age 89, beloved husband of the late Mildred Hadsell Edick, died on Thursday, April 12, 2012. A lifelong area resident, he was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving him are daughter, Kay Strauss and her husband, Michael, of Del Rio, TN; one son, Mark Edick and his companion, Terri Norrbom, of Richfield Springs; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Neil Edick, in 2007; and eight brothers and sisters. Interment with military honors will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

  Miss Mildred Hadsell, daughter of Mrs. Marian Hadsell of this village became the bride of Cornelius Edick, Jr., son of Colnelius Edick and the late Bertha Hopkins Edick, on Saturday, August 22. The Rev. Howard Knapp of the Methodist Church performed the service at the parsonage.
  The attending couple were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gustaveson of Cassville.
  The bride wore a blue-gray suit with red accessories and a hat to match and a corsage of white roses. Her attendant wore sky blue with matching accessories and a yellow corsage.
  A reception followed at teh Blu Moon Restaurant of Rout 28 and the couple left on a wedding trip to Niagara Falls. Upon their return they will live on the Arthur Huztable farm in Cullen where the bridgroom is employed. Mr. Edick spent four years with the armed forces.
  Both Mr. and Mrs. Edick attended Richfield Springs Central School. Mrs. Edick is employed at the Utica State Hospital.
  Relatives and friends attended from Utica, Syracuse, fort Plain, Bridgeport, Cassville, Herkimer, Frankfort, Ilion, Richfield Springs and Cullen.
  Prenuptual affairs for the bride included showere by the nurses at the hospital at Harts Hill Inn. Mrs. Clarence Bailey and Mrs. Bernard Jastremski.

Dale, Jr., USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dale, Plymouth Ave., Newark, and grandson of Mrs. Seward Hakes, native of Ilion, who now resides at Maplewood, N. J., were married April 14 in Central Christian church. East Orange. The Rev. M. S. Kitchen officiated.
  The bride wore a white chiffon gown and a fingertip veil of net fastened with lilies of the valley. She carried gardenias and white sweet peas. Miss Eugenia W. Nelson of East Orange was maid of honor and Dr. Dale was his son’s best man.
  Ushers were Richard G. Forsythe brother of the bride; Gordan C. Holme of Belmar, her cousin, Irving F. Brown of Maplewood and Goodsell W. Herron of East Orange, uncles of the bridegroom. A reception was held in Hotel Suburban, East Orange.
  A graduate of Middlebury College, the bride will receive her master's degree in May from Mount Holyok College. Lt. Dale, a graduate of Bowdin College and the Navy Supply Corps School at Harvard, served two years in the Pacific. After a short wedding trip the couple will reside in Mechanicsburg Pa., where Lt. Dale will be stationed.

Martin Clayton Manion

  He was born on July 19, 1929, in Ilion, the son on the late Martin H. and Genevieve Knapp Manion. He served with the U.S. Army 11th Airborne during the Korean Conflict, and on August 21, 1954, he married Ann Brooks, she passed away December 29, 1986. Monk is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. Robert and Nancy Manion of Ilion; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lyn and Lt. Col. John Cipriano of Herkimer, Sarah and Ted Schoff of Little Falls and Amy and Vince Ponder of Thomasville, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and June Manion of Ilion; his grandchildren, Kathleen and Tom Manion, Michelle and Erica Cipriano, Ann, Susan, Genevieve and Theodore Schoff and Ellen Ponder; a great-grandson, Alex Dihrberg; also several nieces and nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Jack and James Manion, and two sisters, Genevieve Winchester and Marie Currie.

  On Saturday Miss Ann S. Brooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred E. Brooks, 75 First Ave., became the bride of Martin C. Manion, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin H. Manion, 176 John St. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Daniel Horan in the Annunciation Church.
  Mrs. James Currie, sister of the groom was matron of honor and Alfred Brooks, Jr., brother of the bride was best man. Bridesmaids were Miss Suzanne Bronner, Ilion and Miss Joanna LaFleur, Utica. Walter Carswell, Herkimer, Albert Ross. Darien, Conn., cousin of the bride and John and James Manion, brothers of the groom were ushers.
  After a reception at the Palmer House, Herkimer, the couple left for a trip to Northern New York and Canada. On their return they will live at 266 E Main St. The bride attended Keuka College and Utica School of Commerce. The groom served two years in the Air Force. He attended Michigan State College and the University of Rochester and is now employed by Niagara Power Corp.

  Alfred “Barney” Brooks, 81, of Holland, MA, formerly of Vernon, CT, beloved husband of the late Teresa “Terry” (Nalezny) Brooks passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016. He was born December 2, 1934 in Ilion, NY the son of the late Alfred and Ethlyn Brooks. He was a graduate of Ilion High School and Hobart and William Smith College. Barney was a United States army veteran and a lifelong NY Giants fan. He loved watching his grandson play lacrosse, biking, crosswords, caning chairs, tennis and boating. He lived in Holland with his wife at their dream lakehouse. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan Ann and Thomas Hubregsen of Southbury; his grandchildren, Emma Jill Hubregsen and Thomas Brooks Hubregsen; his niece and nephew, Karen Ryan and Dates Ryan; and his sister’s children, Bob, Lynn, Sally and Amy. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Jill Marie Brooks.   Theresa "Terry" (Nalezny) Brooks, 71, of Holland, formerly of Vernon, beloved wife of Alfred "Barney" Brooks, passed away Friday, Dec. 29 at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge.
  Terry was born Aug. 29, 1935 in Meriden, Conn., the daughter of the late Walter and Jennie (Asklar) Nalezny.
  She was a member of the Scholar Bowler Group of Vernon, and volunteered with the auxiliary at Rockville General Hospital for many years. She was a communicant of St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield. She was an avid reader and enjoyed needle point.
  She loved spending time with her family at the lake house in Holland, where she enjoyed boating, swimming and entertaining her family and friends.
  In addition to her husband of 48 years, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan Ann and Thomas Hubregsen of Southbury; her two loving grandchildren, Emma Jill and Thomas Brooks Hubregsen; a sister, Irene Putnam of Marshfield; a niece, Karen Ryan and her husband, Dates Ryan, of Marshfield; and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jill Marie Brooks.
  Friends gathered Wednesday, Jan. 3 at St. Bernard's Church, 25 St. Bernard's Terrace, Rockville, for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial followed in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Rockville.

  ILION—Miss Theresa Nalezny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nalezny, of 204 West St., became the bride of Alfred Emmons Brooks Jr., son of Alfred E. Brooks Sr., and the late Mrs. Brooks, of 71 First Ave., at 1 p. m. today in Church of Annunciation.
  The double ring ceremony was performed by the assistant pastor, Rev. Morris Dwyer. Miss Claire Wasmer served as organist and vocalist.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a gown of embroidered nylon tulle in frosted white over ice blue, fashioned with a fitted bodice, short sleeves and scoop neckline. The bouffant Southern Bell skirt was topped with an ice blue satin cummerbund and back bow. The imported illusion fingertip veil was held in place with an embroidered cap of frosted white edged in ice blue satin. She carried a white prayerbook centered with a white orchid.
  Matron of honor, Mrs. Russell Putnam, bride’s sister, and the bridesmaids, the Misses Audrey Pearson and Norma Conte, both of Ilion; Miss Louise Ziemba of Meriden, Conn., and Mrs. Robert Hingre. Herkimer, were dressed identically.
  Their gowns of blue silk organza in a sheath style, were fashioned with scooped necklines, tiny sleeves, and a matching bouffant double net overskirt, caught to a shaped and buckled
belt. Their matching silk headpieces. outlined in pearls, featured circular veils. They carried matching blue prayerbooks with pale pink rose buds and streamers.
  Martin C. Manion, bridegroom's brother-in-law, served as best man. Ushers were Albert M. Ross Jr., of Darien, Conn., Russell Putnam, bride’s brother-in-law, Jack Bowers, both of Ilion; and Robert Hingre of Herkimer.
  Following a reception at the Palmer House, Herkimer, the couple left for a wedding trip to the Adirondacks and a tour of New England States.
  The bride is a graduate of Ilion High School and is employed in the accounting department of New York Telephone Co., in Utica. The bridegroom, a graduate of Hobart Collere, Class of 1956. is employed by the Army at Fort Dix, N. J.
  The bride was recently feted with a shower in General Herkimer Hotel, Herkimer, given in by her honor attendants.

 - Gold Star (The Newton Graphic, Massachusetts, Thursday, August 2, 1945)
  Cpl, David Getman, 23, TJ.S.M.C., son of Mr. and Mrs. Adalbert Getman of 75 Harding street, West Newton, who was wounded twice in the Pacific, has been awarded the Purple Heart Medal and a Gold Star in lieu of a second medal, The presentation was made by Lt. Col, Baily M. Coppenberg at exercises held at the Quonset Point Naval Base in Rhode Island.
  Cpl. Getman was at first wounded in the hip on June 10, 1944 on Saipan but recovered in time to take part in the invasion of Tinian Island where he received a wrist wound on July 24.
  A graduate of the Newton High School he was employed at Grover Cronin, Inc. in Waltham until he enlisted in the Marines in April 1941, He served with the Fourth Marine Division and renewed his four year enlistment last April.
 He is married to the former Catherine Foley of Philadelphia and they have an 18 months old son, David. His brother, Cook 1-c Herbert Getman, who has been on sea duty for four years recently spent a 30 day furlough at home. Cpl. Getman was at home over the past week end.

  David I. Getman Sr., 75, ov 907 Euclid Ave. died of a heart attack Thursday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at All saints Catholic church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.
  Mr. Getman was born in West Newton, Mass., and moved to Des Moines in 1950. He was a retired mailer at Meredith Corp. and a Martine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Highland Park American Legion, Military order of the Purple Heart, Fourty and Eight Club, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
  He is survived by hie wife, Dorothy; two sons, Dave Jr. of Des Moines and Jerry of Puyallup, Wash.; two daughters, Cathleen Kallmeyer of Seattle and Maureen Wurst of Telford, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren.
  Frineds may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at Highland Park Funeral Home, where the family will be preent after 5 p.m. and where a rosary service will b eheld at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the All Saints Building Fund.
