She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church, reformed movement. She will be sadly missed by her loving family. CLAIR L. PERSHING, 81, of Zephyrhills died Sunday in Sepherhills. A native of Hartford, Wis., he moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1975 from Jackson, Mich. He was a retired insurance salesman for Mutual of Omaha after 33 years and was employed by Garden of Memories Funeral Home in Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Nelsena E.; two stepdaughters, Carol L. Worth of Jackson, Mich., and Vicki L. Gubernick of Cleveland; one sister Sylvia Lewis of Munith, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Gerald D. "Jerry" Getman, 71, of Bedford Township, died Saturday, July 13, 1996, at his home.
Mr. Getman was born Oct. 9, 1924 in Augusta, to Burr Nelson and Alma (Randolph) Getman. He moved to Battle Creek as a small child with his family.
He attended Level Park Schools.
He served in the Army during World War II from July 1942 until November 1945. He served in the Battles of the Aleutian Islands, Central Pacific, Southern Philippines and Ryukas. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theatre ribbon with four bronze battle stars, bronze service arrowhead and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with four bronze battle stars and a victory medal.
He was employed by Midwest Foundry as a molder and retired after 30 years of service. He also had worked 10 years as a molder for the Battle Creek Foundry and for five years as a molder for the Franklin Foundry. He was also an attendant at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He married Ruth M. tucker on Nov. 15, 1945 in Battle Creek. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Sherry A. Doubledee of Hickory Corners; a son Kerry D. Getman of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren; a brother, Burr R. Getman of Hastings; and sisters Nelsena Pershing of Zephryhills, Fla., and Ardith McFarland of Lakeland, Fla.
Community Involvement, hobbies: Member of local foundry workers union, enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird-watching, going to casino, bingo, watching football and baseball and vacationing with family.
Private services will be Wednesday at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

Cleo Saunders, 82, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born on October 14, 1929, in Suttons Bay, Michigan, Cleo was the daughter of the late Robert S. and Mary Louise Getman Gain. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William T. Saunders, on August 5, 1992 and her second husband, Dennis A. Pleasants on September 30, 2010; son Barry W. (Patrice) Saunders on March 2, 2003, daughter, Maureen Saunders, on March 28, 2011, and brother, Dale M. Gain.
Cleo was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and Williams Country Club.
She is survived by her son, Kevin W. (Donna) Saunders of Centerville, OH; daughter, Alicia (John) Rinkus of Yardley, PA; seven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; daughter in law Patrice Lynn Lewis Saunders.
Friends will be received Friday, July 20 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Saturday at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church Weirton, WV with Reverend Father Larry Dorsch presiding. Interment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery, Weirton.

Born November 15, 1954, Maureen was a daughter of Cleo Gain Saunders and the late William Thomas Saunders. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Barry W. Saunders.
Surviving in addition to her mother Cleo, she is survived by her brother, Kevin (Donna) Saunders of Centerville, OH; her sister, Alicia L. (John) Rinkus of Yardley, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Barry William Saunders, 47, of Apopka, FL, formerly of Weirton, WV died Sunday March 2, 2003.
He was born on February 12, 1956, in Morristown, NJ, the son of Cleo Gain Pleasants Saunders of Weirton, WV, and the late William Thomas Saunders.
Barry was a self employed contractor. He graduated from Brooke High School in 1974. He also attended Dayton University.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his wife Patrice Lynn Lewis Saunders, whom he married on May 21, 1982. Also surviving includes his two sisters Alicia L. Rinkus, and her husband John, of Yardley, PA and Maureen Saunders of Ohio; his brother, Kevin W. Saunders, and his wife, Donna, of Centerville, OH; his mother-in-law, Mary Jane Gallagher Lewis of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews.
The Saunders family will be receiving friends for visitation on Friday March 7, 2003, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
A memorial mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton.
Rev. Fr. Tony Thurston will preside.

James Richard "Jim" Getman, ae 68, of Battle Creek, MI, died Sunday, September 26, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his loving family, following a short battle with liver cancer.
Jim was born on May 4, 1942 in Battle Creek and was the son of Jack and Josephine (Pickles) Getman. He was a 1961 graduate of B attle Creek Central High School. Jim served his country proudly as a Telecommunications Operations Supervisor, Staff Sergeant for the Unitesd States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of active duty serving from 1962 thru 1982. He then was at the Battle Creek Federal Center s a communications expert for the Defense Logistic Service Center, retiring in 2001 after 18 years of faithful service. Jim was knownfor being a very friendly and outgoing guy that loved playing cards, Sudoku puzzles and traveling, but his passion was his fmaily. The only weakness he had was an overwhelming appetite for Red Twizzler Licorice!
On April 6, 1963, in Oceoda, MI, Jim was united in marriage with the former Nancy E. Frazier. Surviving are his wifeof 47 years, Nancy; his daughter Paulette Lea Getman of Coldwater, MI; his two sons, Michael Shane (Heather) Getman and Larry Jack (Michelle) Getman, both of Battle Cree; and his six grandchildren, David, Ashley, Tyler, Brittany, Josh and Abigail. Jim was preceeded in death by his parents.
The graveside service to celebrate Jim's life was held on Friday< October 1st at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI ....
