  He was the son of Walter Lee Ford and Alice Pixley. They are both buried in the Star Cemetery near Neodesha.

  Walter "Buck" Buckner age 82, was born to Walter C. and Iva Buckner may 24th, 1921 in Bridgeport, Oklahoma and died Thursday, August 28, 2003, at his home surrounded by love. He graduated from Bridgeport High School and was accepted to the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs where he played football. During WWII he entered the Air Force and flew many missions during the War. Buck worked at John A. Brown, Paul Davis Appliance and then went into the Plumbing business. From there he decided he would like to be around Airplanes again so he decided to work for Tulakes Aviation until starting his own Company, "Sky Sales & Service." He was located at Wiley Post Airport for 37 years retiring in 1997. He became active in Good Sam Travel Club Organization where he was on the Okla. State Staff. He was a member of Redbud Sams RV Club and active in American Legion. The last 10 years he was very active in RV traveling and also bought a place in Donna, Texas where he liked to go during the winter. Buck is preceded in death by his parents and one son Jack. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nora; one son in Yukon; daughter of Weatherford; daughter of OKC; daughter of Yukon; and daughter of Okarche; one sister Mabel Corley of Lubbock, TX; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

  ELLINWOOD - Cleo Everett Long, 71, died April 13,1987, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. Born March 11, 1916, at Woodrow, Okla., he married Rubye Ross April 7,1937, at Nowata, Okla.
  He was a retired lease foreman for Phillips Petroleum and was a resident of Ellinwood since 1976. He was a former member of Moose and Eagles Lodges.
  Survivors: wife, of the home; son, Francis, Ellinwood; daughters, Barbara Herbel, Lawrence, Sharon Bradford, Hill City; sisters, Mrs. Otis English, Claremore, Okla,, Mrs. Violet Burton, Marlow, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
  Funeral will be at ,1:30 p.m. Thursday at Fryberger Mortuary, Great Bend, the Rev. Don Paden. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call until service time at the mortuary. Memorials may go to St. Francis Coronary Care Unit.

  Mary "Rubye" Long 1914 - 2008
Mary "Rubye" Long, 93, of Great Bend, passed away Jan. 27 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
  Rubye, as she was known to her family and friends, was born April 3, 1914, in Nowata County, Okla., to Clarence and Pearl Brannan Ross.
  Rubye graduated from Nowata High School in 1933.
  She married her high school sweetheart, Cleo Everett Long, on April 7, 1937, in Nowata, Okla. During this 50-year union they lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Wyoming, with Cleo's job in the oilfields. Their last residence was in Ellinwood.
  Rubye was employed as a clerk in various retail businesses and as a bookkeeper/secretary for several oil companies.
  Her favorite pastimes were oil painting, knitting, sewing and all types of crafts. She loved to dance and loved country music.
  She was an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation and proud of her Indian heritage. But her greatest joy in life was her family.
  Rubye is survived by two daughters, Barbara Herbel of Lawrence and Sharon Bradford and husband James of Hill City; eight grandchildren, Rick Long, Bob Long and wife Donna, Randy Long and wife Dian, all of Ellinwood, Rob Long and wife Teresa of Great Bend, Lori Grimmett and husband Dave and Marci McAntee and husband Doug, all of Emporia, Jaime Weller and husband Phil of Smithville, Mo., and Shari Miller and husband Bill of Hill City; 13 greatgrandchildren, six stepgreat-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and seven nieces and nephews.
  Rubye was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Francis Ross of Nowata, Okla., her son, Francis Long of Ellinwood, and the love of her life, Cleo.

  Margaret Elizabeth English
  Funeral service for Margaret Elizabeth English will be 2 p.m., Wed., May 27, at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Ray Crawford officiating.
  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
  Margaret passed away Sun., May 24, 2015, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, after suffereing a stroke while gardening at her home in Claremore on May 14. She was 97 years old.
  The daughter of Joe Long and Viola Mae (Riley) Long was born on Dec. 18, 1917, in High Prairie in Nowata County.
  Margaret attended a one room school in High Prairie from 1923-1931, and graduated from Nowata High Schoolin 1935. She then continued her education at Hills Business University in Oklahoma City and graduated with honors in 1938.
  After graduating Margaret went to work for the YMCA in Oklahoma City and served as an executive secretary for J.B. White, the executive director.
   In 1946, Margaret married the love of her life, Otis Dave English. They made their first home in Blackwell.
  Margaret and Otis had their child, Linda Lou, who died at birth on Dec. 22, 1950. She also gave birth to two sons, David in 1952, and Stephen in 1953. The family moved to Claremore in 1968.
  In addition to raising their two sons, Margaret was also a member of the Quest Club where she served as the club's secretary. Margaret belonged to the Claremore Hospital Auxiliary from 1969-2009. She was a chartered member who gave 40 years of service and is honored in the "Open Hearts, Helping Hands" display at Claremore Regional Hospital.
   Margaret worked on the election board as a precinct election board judge. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Claremore, where she enjoyed participating in various activities at her church.
  Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, and cooking. Her greatest love was helping and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
  Margaret is survived by her children: David English of Claremore, and Steve English and wife, Jamie of Kansas City; 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

  MOHAWK - Raymond C. Gage, 78, of State Route 28, passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, in Little Falls Hospital.
  He was born Feb. 12, 1924, in Dolgeville, son of Ray E. and Bertha Helmer Gage. A lifelong Mohawk resident, he was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. On Sept. 13, 1952, he married Katherine Soposki in the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer. The Rev. Fred Cotnam officiated. Theirs was a loving and devoted union of 40 years until her passing Feb. 24, 1993. For 40 years Mr. Gage owned and operated the Gage Dairy Farm in Mohawk.
  Ray had a strong belief in God and was of the Methodist faith. He was a 50-year member of Mohawk Valley Lodge No. 276 Free and Accepted Masons.
  He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Randy and Beth Gage of Mohawk and Dean and Tina Gage of Richfield Springs; four daughters, Cindy Latt of Mohawk, Denise and her husband Greg Goodale of Mohawk, Lorraine and her husband David Robertson of Richfield Springs and Darlene and her husband Charles Cagwin of Mohawk; 11 grandchildren, Zach and Braden Goodale of Mohawk, Stephanie Tuthill and Daniel Latt of Mohawk, William and Kyle Robertson of Richfield Springs, Brandon and Austin Gage of Mohawk, Justin, Chad and Derrick Gage of Richfield Springs; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
  Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs. The Rev. William Harkins, pastor of the Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs, will officiate. Mr. Gage will be laid to rest in the Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery, Columbia Center, later this spring.

  Miss Louise Chittendon and Raymond Gage were the attendants, and Kenneth Purdy and Fred Schantz served as ushers.
   The bride was attired in a white satin gown with full skirt and a fingertip veil caught in a wreath of white roses. She carried an arm bouquet of white roses. Her maid of honor wore a light blue gown with satin bodice and a net skirt. Her headpiece was a Juliet cap of pearls and she carried a bouquet ot pink roses.
  Following a reception in the church, the couple left on a wedding trip to Oklahoma.
  The bride is a graduate of Ilion High School and is employed in the Ilion office of the New -York Telephone Company. Her husband a veteran of three years service with the U.S. Marines, is employed by Charles Walker, contractor.

  ILION - Miss Anne Marie Kuba, of Ilion, RD 1, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kuba, of Ilion. RD 1, was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Higgins, son of Mrs. Edith Higgins, of 116 E. Orchard st, Frankfort, at 1 p.m. today in the First Methodist Church.
  Rev. Charles S. Williams, pastor, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Luella Schwartz, organist, provided traditional wedding music. Gladiolas decorated the altar.
  Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was attired in a floor length dress styled with a fitted bodice, scalloped sweet heart neckline and long fitted sleeves ending in bridal points. Her bouffant skirt featured tiers of Chantilly lace and nylon net. A crown of Chantilly lace, enhanced by crystals and beads, held a net illusion shoulder length veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of glamelia florets centered with a pink sweet heart rose corsage.
  Maid of honor tor her sister was Miss Jean Kuba. She chose a pink lace over satin gown with sleeveless emoire bodice and floor-length sheath skirt. Her headpiece of tulle petals and pink pearls held a matching veil. She carried a Colonial bouquet of white pompons centered with mums tinted hot pink.
  Bridesmaids were Miss Kandy Bennett, niece of the bridegroom, and Mrs. George Amendolare. Both wore chartreuse gowns styled like the maid of honor's. They carried chartreuse tinted pompons and white mums in a Colonial bouquet.
  Best man was Gary Bennett, the bridegroom's nephew. Ushering were Donald Blaise, George Amendolare.
  Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Cedarville Fire Hall. The couple will reside at 116 Orchard St., Frankfort.
  The bridegroom attended Frankfort - Schuyer Central School and is employed by the New York Stae Division of Canals.
  Pre-nuptials included a variety shower given by the bridal attendants.
  Guests attended from Whitesboro, Utica, Little Falls, Auburn, Chittenango, Lancaster, and Valley towns.

  Paul H. Kuba, 53, of 778 County Highway 22, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Schuyler Lake on Monday, Dec. 4, 2006.
  Paul was born Feb. 7, 1953, in Ilion, the son of Joseph and Shirley Pett Kuba, and received his education in the Ilion School System.
  Paul was employed for more than 30 years with Homogeneous Metals Inc., in Clayville.
  He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and avid NASCAR enthusiast. He will be greatly missed.
  Paul is survived by his soulmate, companion and best friend, Lorie Wilson, of Schuyler Lake; his father, Joseph Kuba, of Ilion; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne Farrington and her husband, Ronald Jr., of Ilion, and Jean Wilson and her husband, Temble, of Winchester, Va.; two nephews and their wives, Kenneth and Barb Higgins of Rome and Paul and Sue Farrington of Rome; two nieces, Eve Yen and her husband, Sam, of Los Altos, Calif., and Judy Farrington of Boston, Mass.; two great-nephews; and one great-niece.
  He was predeceased by his mother, Shirley, in 1996.
  Friends may call from noon until 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, with a memorial service for Paul at 2:30 p.m. at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St., Ilion, with the Rev. Hans Drews officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Rural Cemetery in Jordanville.

Sept 20 in Japan. She was born in llion, daughter of Harold and Evalena Helmer Pett.
  She was married to Lt. J. Norman. Messer. They had been in Japan for a year and a half.
  Mrs. Messer was graduated from llion schools and from the Strong Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Rochester.
  Besides her husband and parents, she leaves a son, Stephen Charles of Japan; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Kuba of llion, and a brother, Robert of llion.
   The funeral will be at 1:30 Wednesday from the Applegate Funeral Home, with Donald Bell, assisted by the Rev. Charlton Van Ornum, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in the Jordanville Cemetery.
  Calling hours will be from 2to4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow.
