  Louis A. Wagner
  ILION - Louis A. Wagner age 82, of Herkimer Rd. Schuyler, died Friday, Saturday, July 29, 1988 at his residence.
  He was born May 26, 1906, in Gery, N.Y.. a son of Charles and Flora Hess Wagner, and received his education in Grey, N.Y. He was married to Margaret Eaton in 1939 in Schuyler. She died in 1966. For over 30 years, Mr Wagner was a mechanic with Hameline Daries of Utica. Mr. Wagner was an avbid horseman. He and his horse, Chief, traveled throughout the North-East perforning at rodeos, parades and fairs for many years. Mr. Wagner was a member of the Schuyler United Methodist Church and a past member of the Oneida County Mounted Sheriff's Possse.
  H is survived by a daughter, Carol Eaton Wagner, of Prescott AZ. and Schuyler, a sister, Mrs. Reba Edick, of Ilion, a nephew, Roy Edick of Ilion and a special friend, Rosetta Ballard, of Schuyler.
  Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, from the family home with Rev. John Scoville officiating. Friends are invited to call at the family home on Monday 2-4 and 7-9.
  In rememberance of Mr. Wagner, kindly consider the Herkimer County Humane Society of the National Wildlife Federation.

  Wilmington, NY - Lawrence W. Hess, 72, of Wilmington and formerly of Utica, a magician who performed in the Utica area for many years, died Saturday in Lake Placid Hospital after a short illness.
  He began his career in the 1920. as "Hess The Magician, Master of Amazement." at that time magic was a hobby for him, occupying his evenings while his days were given to his work as a postal clerk at the Dunham Post on Devereux Street.
  Working out of his home ar1124 Leeds St. Utica, he performed evenings at different locations throughout the area.
  There he sold the equipment for magic tricks and illusions, many which were his own inventions.
 Over the years he performed at many locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. He toured with both the Schrine and Keith Circuit theaters.
  He was a 25 year member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, a charter member of Local Ring 101, and a member of the Magicians Alliance of Eastern States. In 1947 he was appointed to the Magicians Guild, and exclusive society made up of professional magicians.
 For the past ten years, Mr. Hess has worked as the "Wizard of the North" at Santa's Workshop at the North Pole, Wilmington. He created and built a number of puppets and performed there as a puppeteer.
  He also was owner of the Square Circle Motel in Wilmington.
  Hess was born in Utica and attended local schools. In 1948 he married Margo Blake.
  Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Major Jerome L. Hess with the Marine Corps. in California; a brother Albert Hess and a sister, Mrs. Mary Miller, both of Holland Patent.
  The funeral will be tomorrow at the Forest Hill Cemetery Conservatory. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

  Howard J. Wolf, 82, formerly of 1012 Wager St, Utica. died after an extended illness at Broadacres. SNF, on January 21,1988. The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 from the Friedel and Williams Funeral Home, 1123 Court St. and at 10 at st. Joseph & St. Patrick Church where a Mass of Christian Burial wil be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9.

  Howard J. Wolf, 82, formerly of 1012 Wager St., Utica, died after an extended illness at Broadacres SNF, on January 21, 1988.
  He was bom in Holland Patent on January 23,1906, son of Thomas an Elizabeth Hess Wolf. On February 1, 1929, he married Elizabeth A. (Betty) Charbonneau in St. Leo's Roman Catholic Church in Holland Patent. His wife preceded him in death in May of 1984. Mr. Wolf was a self-employed contractor in the Utica area for many years and was an active member of St. Joseph & St Patrick Church.
  He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and Clyde Chamberlain, of Utica, Carol Sullivan of Chadwicks; two sons and ---- lyn wolf of Ohio nd James and Jean Wolf ---- siste-in-law Sherwood and Dorothy Wolf of --- and brother-in-law Loretta Charboneau Berg and Nicholas Berg, of Chadwicks. He also leaved 19 (?) grandchildren, Mrs. Dennis (Sue) Wakamunski, of Virginia Mrs. Edward (Linday) Myers of Utica, Mrs. Fred (Colleen) Talirico, of Clinton, Robert Sullivan, Llurie Sullivan and Patrick Sulivan of Chadwicks, Richard Sullivan of Clayville, Jeffrey Sullivan, of Utica, Heather Sullivan, of Buffalo, Mrs. Donald (Bonnie) Segars, of Alabama, Kinberly Wolf and Kevin Wolf of Utica; eight great-grandchildren; a ---- Holland Patent, and a niece, Nancy Cox Wolf of Florida.

  Mrs. EliiabethA. (Betty) Wolf of 1012 Wager St., died Saturday, May 26,1964 at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a brief illness.
  She was born in Lyons Falls, a daughter of Henry and Salomie Lemanque Charbonneau. She attended school in Hinckley and married Mr. Wolf on February  1, 1929 at St. Leo's Church in Holland Patent. She was a member of St. Joseph-St Patrick's Church.
  Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters. Mrs. Clyde (Patricia) Chamberlain of Utica, Carol Sullivan of Chadwicks; two sons, Thomas Howard Wolf of St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada. James H. Utica; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew and several cousins.
  The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 from the Friedel & Williams Funeral Home, Inc., Court at York Sts. and at 10:00 at St. Joseph-St. Patrick's Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9. Friends may consider the St. Elizabeth Hospital Development Fund in her memory.

  St. Patrick's Church was the setting for the 10 o'clock nuptials yesterday, uniting Miss Doris Jean Graves and James H. Wolf. The Rev. Jerome Riley was the celebrant, and Merrill Van Siyke was organist and soloist.
  The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Marjone Graves, 1031 Columbia St. and Kenneth Graves Sr., 929 Saratoga St. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard J. Wolf, 1012 Wager St.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor length gown of Chantilly lace. It had a fitted bodice, a Sabrina neckline, long, tapered sleeves and a full skirt with a chapel train. Her cathedral veil of English illusion fell fom a jeweled princess crown. The bride carried a Spanish lace fan. centered with cascading azaleas.
  Miss Judy Gowett was matron of honor for her sister. Miss Marion Sokolowski was the bridesmaid and Miss Elizabeth Wolf, the brideigroom's niece, was junior maid. Colleen Sullivan and Bonnie Wolf, nieces of the bridegroom, were flower girls, and Linda Ann Chamberlain was the miniature bride. She is also a niece of the bridegroom.
  Thomas Wolf was best man for his brother. Ushering were David Palzinski and Kenneth Graves Jr., the bride's brother. Junior ushers were David Chamberlain and Robert Sullivan, nephews of the groom.
 A reception was held in the PLAV Home, after which Mr. and Mrs. Wolf left on a trip to Canada. They will make their home at 624 Schuyler St.
  The bride is a secretary with Choinacki Insurnce Agency. He husbant is associated with Beaunti (?) Fobers.

  Funeral services for Amos C. Otit, 45, 314 Spring, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday from the home, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.

  Mr Odit was born in Wilmurt, Apr. 2, 1901, a son of Lowell and Helen Flansburg Odit, Prospect. He was married to Alice C. Paull, who survives. Before coming to Utica in 1941, he was employed by the Griffin Roofing Company in Carthage for 19 years.
  Besides his wife and parents he leaves three sons, Harriss Paull, and Lowell Edward, at home, Robert Flansburg, with the Navy in French Morocco; three daughters, Mill Leatrice Mary Odit, New York City, and Aretta Joy and Helen May Odit, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Iola Brown, Prospect, and Mrs Beatrice Burridge, Barneveld and several neices and nephews.

  PROSPECT - Mrs. Paul Iola Odit Brown, 78, of Prospect, N.Y., currently residing n the Charles T Sitrin Home, died Saturday, Jul 12, 1983 in Faxton Hospital.
  She was born in Wilmurt, N.Y. June 19, 1905, the daughter of the late Lowell A. and Helen M. Flansburg Odit.
  She is survived by two sons, Clarence L. Brown of Alder Creek and Warren P. Brown of Remsen; three daughters, Beatrice J. Crill of Prospect, Shirley M. Paul and Sharon Kubala, both of Poland; one sister, Beatrice Fallon Leaf of Barneveld. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
  The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the John G. Ackley Funeral Home, Remsen. Calling hours will be Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. Burial will be in Prospect Ceemetery. Flansburg was a Methodist; a member of Newport Lodge #455 and was a 32nd Degree Mason He also was a member of the North Star Grange and The Ohio Historical Society. He was retired from the Town of Ohio Highway Dept.
  Surviving besides his wife, Dorothy, are a son Dean, of Wilmurt; a sister, Evelyn and an aunt, Mary; also three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
  Funeral will be Sunday at l p.m from the John G. Ackley Funeral Home. Remsen, with burial in Wilmurt Cemetery. Calling hours Saturday 2-4 and 7-9. Friends are asked to consider The Kuyahoora Ambulance Fund or The Heart Fund.

  She was born December 16, 1912, in Syracuse, daughter of Walter and Dora Hanes Rosa. she was educated in Inlet and Old Forge schools. On December 6, 1938, she was amrried to Carl Flansburg. He died in 1981. She was a member of the Ohio Methodist Church, Master of North Star Grange #686, member of Herkimer Co. Pamona Grange and State and National granges. Olive Branch Garden Club, Ohio's Historical Society and Helping Hands. She was a past Matron of Eastern Star Kuyahoors Chapter # 145.
  She is survied by a Step-son Dean Flansburg and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Flansburg, both of Town of Ohio; three grandsons and ten great grandchildren.
  A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, Aughust 21 from the Ohio Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to KVAC or the Heart Fund. Arrangements are in care of John C. Ackley Funeral Home, Remsen.

  Grace was born near Hayfield, Dodge County, Minnesota, to Clarence Alvin Chamberlain, and Julia Grace Schwarg. Grace's mother got sick and died about a month after her birth, so Grace was raised by her maternal grandparents, Peter and Pauline Schwarg. After her Grandmother died in 1904, her Grandfather remarried, so she also had the influence of Genevieve Ives Allen Schwarg, who was a former teacher and active in the womens sufferage movement. Grace graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1913, and went to Harris, Saskatchewan, Canada to teach. While there, she met Henry Wadsworth Harm, whom she married in 1916, after they returned to Minnesota. While Henry practiced Optometry, Grace did some teaching. After they moved to Willmar, Minnesota, she taught piano, and at some point became involved in the WCTU. She continued her involvement with the WCTU after her husband retired and they moved to Yucaipa, California. Later, Due to health, she was moved to Goldendale, Washington to be near her only son, Henry, where she died.

  Henry was born in a small one room log house on the South shore of Lake Jefferson in Southern Minnesota. He was the youngest of a family of ten children. As an adult, he dealt in real estate in Forgan, Saskatchewan, Canada, and in the United States - mainly Minnesota, and owned land in Cuba. After his marriage in 1916 he worked as an Optician or Optometrist, sometimes working with his brother Fred Harm, who was a Jeweler and Optician in St. Paul, Minnesota. In about 1929 he moved with his wife, Grace, and only son, Henry, to Willmar, Minnesota, where he was an Optometrist until about 1949. He then retired to Yucaipa, California until his health forced him to stay briefly with his son in Goldendale, Washington, but returned to a convalescent facility in California , where he died at 92 years old.
