Marriage Notes for Jane Edith McKennan and Donald Henry Bellinger

 - Wedding Announcement (TheEvening Telegram, Herkimer-Ilion, NY, Saturday, March 28, 1953)
  Miss Jane Edith McKennan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. McKennan, 504 Prescott St., became the bride of Donald Henry Bellinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell E. Bellinger, 415 Henry St., at 2 p.m. today in the Reformed Church.
  The Rev. J. Foster Welwood, pastor, officiated at the ceremony, before an altar decorated with Easter lilies, ferns and candelabra. Music included selections by a group of Ilion High School girls, "Ave Maria" by Miss Clare Wasmer and traditional wedding music by Mrs. Jane E. Roberts, organist.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a white gown, fashioned with a Chantilly lace bodice, a small stand-up collar of lace, buttons down the front and a full skirt of nylon tulle over white taffeta. Her fingertip veil, trimmed with a border of matching Chantilly lace, was attached to a lace crown trimmed with orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of orchids and stephanotis.
  Attendants of the bride were Mrs. John E. McKennan Jr., Meriden, Conn., matron of honor, Mrs. Jack M. Smith and Miss Thelma Cristman, both of Herkimer, and Mrs. George Culler, Garrettsville, bridesmaids. Susan L McKennan, Meriden, Conn., niece of the bride, flower girl.
  The honor attendant wore a mint green gown with a lace bodice with a skirt of mint green nylon tulle ever taffeta. Mrs. Smith and Miss Cristman wore similar dresses of orchid, and Mrs. Guller’s gown was aqua. The flower girl was in pink tulle and carried a basket of talisman roses. The other attendants carried talisman roses, yellow daisies and lavender hyacinth flowerettes.
  Best man was John E. McKennan Jr., and John W. Burns, George Guller, Garrettsville, and Duard T. Henderson served as ushers.
  Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church chapel, after which the couple will leave on a wedding trip to Lake Placid. They will reside in a newly-furnished home at Little Falls RD 3.
  The bride is a graduate of Cortland State Teachers' College and, following graduate work at Syracuse University, became teacher of physical education in the Ilion public schools. The bridegroom is a graduate of Bliss Electrical School of Washington, D. C., and attended Mohawk College. He is employed by Remington Rand, Ilion.

  The marriage of Ralph Hubbard and Miss Amy Seeber took place at the home of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. Verne Seeber at 8 o'clock the evening of Dec. 26th, Rev. English, of Pennsylvania, officiating.
  The bride was prettily dressed in brown, the ceremony being performed before a bank of potted plants and white bells were used in decoration.
  About twenty guests were present. Refreshments were served. Many useful and beautiful presents were received.
  Mr. aad Mrs. Hubbard went to Jamestown, Ripley, Buffalo and Niagara Falls for their wedding trip.

  He was born October 14, 1896 in South Dayton, N.Y. He was married to Marie Lambert. He worked in Sperry Univac for many years, retiring in 1965. He lived in Mohawk most of his life, Ilionfor the past 15 years.
  Survived by his wife in Mohawk; one daughler Mrs. Charlotte Guido of Bay Village, Ohio; one son, Douglas J., West Winfield; one sister, Mrs. Esther Mulvey, Fairport, NY; six grandchildren; one nephew.
  Funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Applegate Funeral Home in Ilion.

Robert Charles Mulvey

 - Obituary (Daily Press, Utica, NY, Saturday, June 29, 1968)
  ILION-Robert C. Mulvey, 63, of 9 Hillside Place, owner of Mulvey's Medical Center here, died June 28 in Sidney, Nova Scotia, where he and Mrs. Mulvey were vacationing.
  He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. He married Esther Seeber in 1925 in Frankfort, and they lived here for many years.
  Mr. Mulvey was a member of the Church of the Annunciation and its Holy Name Society.
   Besides his widow, he leaves a son, Robert I., of Ilion; a brother, Philip of Ilion, and two sisters, Mrs. John (Mary) Scanlon of Ilion and Mrs. Margaret Butler of Watertown.
  The funeral will be at 8:30 Tuesday from the Applegate Funeral Home and at 9 from Annunciation Church. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
  Calling hours are from 7 to 9 tomorrow and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday.

  Born in the Town of Danuube to Frank and Millie Seeber Loucks, she was a member of the Herkimer Seventh Day Adventist Church. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Anthony Pinkcvicz of ILittle Falls.
  The funeral will be at 2:30 tomorrow from the Chapman Funeral Home with the Rev. Benjamin Hartman officiating. Burial will be in Hess Cemetery, Little Falls.

  LITTLE FALLS — John F. Gehring, 67, of RD 3, a farmer, died yesterday in Little Falls Hospital.
  He was born in Minden on July 4, 1901, the son of Charles T. and Libbie Coso Gehring. He married Margaret Stefanacci on Aug. 19, 1944 in Mount Rose, Pa. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Air Force as a medic.
  He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Grange.
  Besides his widow, he leaves a step-son, Edward Hunt, Ilion; a daughter, Mrs. Jacquline Pinkevicz, little Falls, RD 3, and two sisters, Mrs. Carmitta Rice, here and Mrs. Walter (Wilhelmina) Bahr, Dolgeville.
  Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Chapman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frederick C. Thome, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiating.
  Burial will be in Rural Park Cemetery, Ingham's Mills in the spring.
  Calling hours are from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

  He was born on October 15, 1898 in the Town of Warren, the son of Howard and Bertha Skinner Pett, and attended schools in the Town of Columbia On June 28, 1923, he was married to Evalena Helmer in Mohawk. Mr Pett was a member of the Cedarville People's Undenominational Church and the Rural Letter Carriers Association.
  Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Kuba, RD 1, llion; one son Robert Pett. RD 1 llion; one sister. Miss Lillian Pett, Herkimer, seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four nieces, one nephew; and one cousin.
  Funeral services will be held 11 a. m. Saturday at the Applegate Funeral Home, llion. Interment at Highland Rural Cemetery Jordanyille. Calling hours are Thursday, 7-9 Friday 2-4 and 7-9. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Central New York Heart Assoc. Donation envelopes are available at the Funeral Home.

  Mohawk, June 28 - Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the Reformed Church parsonage took place the marriage of Evelina Helmer and Harold Pett of Litchfield. rev. A. B. Boynton (?) officiated and the wittnesses were the mothers of the bride and groom, Mrs. Eva Helmer and Mrs. Helena Pett.
  The bride is a graduate of the Oneonta Normal and of the Mohawk High School of the year 1919, when she was valedictorian of the class. She has been a member of the Ilion school faculty for the last year. The groom is mail clerk on a rural rout out of Ilion. both are very popular young people and a host of friends will extend hearty congratulations. After a honeymoon trip they will take up their residence on the Cedarville Road.

  ILION — Mr and Mrs Harold C. Pett, Ilion Gorge, were honored recently on their 50th wedding anniversary, with an open house June 30 at the home of their daughter, Mrs Joseph Kuba, also of Ilion Gorge. More than a hundred friends and relatives attended.
  Mr. and Mrs. Pett were married June 28, 1923 in the Mohawk Reformed Church parsonage by the Rev. Arthur Boynton. Mrs. Pett is the former Evalena K. Helmer. Both have been area residents all their lives.
  Mr. Pett is a retired rural mail carrier, operating out of the Ilion Post Office.
  They have two children, Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Kuba and Robert H. Pett, both of Ilion, and seven grandchildren, Mrs. Ronald (Anne) Farrington, Jean and Paul Kuba. all of Ilion; Stephen Messer, Polo, Ill.; and Diana, Carol and Marilyn Pett, of Ilion; two great grandchildren, Kenny and Vincent Higgins.
