   Mrs. Marjorie Beckingham Winters, 95, passed away Sunday, May 16,1999, at Bassett Healthcare,Cooperstown.
  Born October 8, 1903, in Frankfort, the daughter of Malcolm and Maude Clemons Cameron, she married Edwin J. Beckingham in Christ, Church, Herkimer, on June 9, 1928. He predeceased her in 1956. In 1974, she married Coral Winters in the Federated Church of Christ, Jordanville. He predeceased her in Zephyrhills, Fla., on May 28 1994.
  Mrs. Winters was employed by the State Technological College at Morrisville and later by the Thanksgiving Home, Cooperstown, as a cook. She was an active member of the Home Bureau, a 67-year member of Violet Rebekah Lodge of Ilion, a 40-year member of the Warren Grange #810, the Herkimer Pomona Grange and the Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs.
  She is survived by a daughter, Mrs.Lee (Beverly) Fickbohm of Cranberry Lake; a son Theodore Beckingham of East Springfield; a stepson, Gordon Winters of Zephyrhills, FLA.; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
  Mrs. Winters was predeceased by two brothers,James Cameron and Maynard Cameron.
  Cremation took place at the Leatherstocking Crematory Inc., Cherry Valley.
  Committal services and burial will be held on Saturday May 22, 1999, in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer, at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Wilde, pastor of the Church of Christ Uniting, will officiate.
  A memorial service will be held on July 24, 1999, at 11 a.m. at the East Springfield Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Wilde will officiate.
  Contributions in Mrs. Winter’s memory may be made to the East Springfield First Responders or the Richfield Emergency Squad.
  Arrangements were entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.

  Edwin J. Beckingham aged 73, died about 1:30 Monday afternoon in the Ilion hospital following a heart attack which he suffered about 12:30 while driving a pick-up truck from Herkimer to North Ilion.
  Mr. Beckingham was stricken shortly after making the North Ilion crossing and his truck plowed into the north bank of the road. He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and died a short time later.
  Mr. Beckingham was born in Utica on June 18, 1883, a son of Henry and Amelia (Schmidt) Beckingham. His father, an expert cabinet maker, came from England.
   He married Miss Marjorie Cameron in Christ Episcopal Church in Herkimer on June 9, 1928. She survives with two children; Miss Beverly Beckingham of Boonville, and Theodore Beckingham of Morrisville. Also a sister, Mrs. Winifred Jackson of Herkimer and Theodore Jackson of Schenectady.
  The funeral was held at 11 o'clock in the Herkimer Reformed Church, the Rev. S. Bowen Hawkins of Jordanville officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
  Mr. Beckingham had been a resident of Herkimer for many years before moving to South Columbia. He was active in politics and civic organizations and served the Town of Herkimer as Supervisor and as Town Clerk and was on the Herkimer County ABC Board for a number of years. He was a member of Herkimer County Magistrates Association and was elected justice of the peace of the Town of Columbia last November on the Republican ticket.
  He was an active member of the Herkimer Masonic Lodge and Patron of Myrtle Chapter, OES, for 20 years, a member of Herkimer volunteer Fire Department, past master of Warren Grange, member of Herkimer County Pomona and of the New York State Grange. At one time he was engaged in the insurance business in Herkimer and since moving to Columbia has been engaged in bookkeeping and accounting.

  Herkimer—Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Beckingham, former residents of Bellinger, observed their 25th wedding anniversary yesterday.
  They were married June 9, 1928, in Christ Episcopal Church by the Rev. Curtis Denny. Mrs. Beckingham is the former Marjorie Cameron.
  Beckingham served as town clerk and supervisor of the Town of Herkimer, and was a member of Herkimer County Alcohol Beverage Control. He was patron of Myrtle Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star for 20 years.
  The couple has a son and daughter. Miss Beverly Beckingham graduated May 31 from Morrisville State Institute of Technology as a foods administrator. She will begin her duties as cafeteria manager this fall at Boonville Central School.
  Their son, Theodore, is now attending the Morrisville school, majoring in animal husbandry. He is a veteran of the Korean War and was awarded a Silver star Medal.

  An evening candlelight service united in marriage Miss Beverly Beckingham and Lee Fickbohm on Wednesday, Nov. 21, (sic) in the Jordanville Federated Church of Christ, Baptist Sanctuary. The Rev. S Bowan Hawkins officiated at the 7:30 p,m. double ring ceremony.
  The bride is the daughter of Mrs Edwin J Beckingham, East Spnngfield, N. Y., formerly of Souuth Columbia and the late Edwin J. Beckingham. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fickbohm, 177 Main St.. Boonville.
  Escorted by her brother, Theodore Beckingham. the bride chose a waltz length gown of white chiffon over net with a fitted bodice and portrait neckline. Her sholder length veil was caught to a crown of pleated net entwined with velveteen. She carried a white Bible with streamers of satin and stephanotis.
  Mrs. Francis Coss, who attended as matron of honor, chose a gown similar to the bride's of pink net over tafeta with a pleated veiled headress. She carried a colonial bouquet of mixed flowers.
  William Daskiewich, Boonville, served as best man.
  Traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Alvin Miller, organist, and Mrs Michael DeMayl, cousin of the bride, sand "Because."
  A reception was held at the home of Theodore Beckingham, East Springfield.
  The bride was graduated from Herkimer High School and the State University of New York at Morrisville. She is employed as cafeteria manager at Boonville Central School.
  The bridegroom is graduated from Boonville Central School and Oswego StateTeachers Collere. He recently completed two years of service with the Army serving 15 months in Germany.

  Maynard H. Cameron, 67, of 911 Ridgewood Road, died yesterday in Faxton
Hospital. Utica.
   He was born June 7, 1905 in Frankfort, the son of Malcolm L. and Maude
Clemens Cameron. He married Thelma Wicks June 25, 1932 in Herkimer.
  Mr Cameron had lived in Herkimer and Mohawk most of his life. For several years he operated Cameron’s Restaurant in Mohawk and for four years, Cameron’s
Superette in Mohawk, retiring in 1968.
  He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Mohawk.
   He leaves his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Marilyn) DeMayo, Mohawk, and Mrs. Michael (Sandra Marie) Bonamassa, of Fairborn, Ohio; one brother, James C. Cameron, Kingston; one sister, Mrs Marjorie Beckingham, East Springfield; 12 grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
  Funeral services will be  held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Grace Episcopal Church, with the Rev. David B. Terns, rector, offering the Requiem Eucharist. Interment will be in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls.
  Calling hours at the Fenner Funeral Home will be from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society

  DR. ROBERT TAFFT CLEMENS, 84, died at his home in Orlando FL. He was born the son of Raymond F. and Ruth Tafft Clemens. He earned a Bachelors of Arts degree from Syracuse University, and a Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida. After working as a pharmacist in Orlando for several years, he enrolled in the Kirksville College of Osteopathy and Surgery, where he earned his Doctorate degree. Dr. Clemens joined the staff of the Seminole County Health Department in Sanford Florida. He served with the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II and was a member of the Sanford American Legion, Post 53. Suviving is his wife, Edwilda Osborne Clemens; son, Ashley T.; sister, Dorothy M. (Robert) Peterson; granddaughter, Devon. A requiem Eucharist Mass will be held in his memory at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, Orlando.

  Louise Miles age 84 of North Prospect Street entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning February 15, 2004 in Valley Health Services Inc., Herkimer. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.
  She was born on March 7, 1919 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Llewellyn D. and Mary Folts Palmer. A lifelong Herkimer resident she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. She furthered her education at the Claxton School of Nursing and Syracuse University, Oneonta where she received her degree in Nursing. On June 28, 1947 she married Frank E. Miles in Herkimer, a loving and devoted union of fifty-three years until his passing on November 10, 2001.
  At one time Mrs. Miles worked in the Maternity Ward of the Herkimer Memorial Hospital and for 10 years as a School Nurse for the Mohawk Puplic School System, retiring in 1976.
  Louise had a stron belief in God and was a Member of the First United Church Herkimer. She was a member of the Evening Star Valley Chapter # 82 Order of the Eastern Star and the Faxton Hospital Alumni Association. To all that knew her they will remember her warm smile and friendly manner. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
  Surviving are, one son Frank Palmer Miles and his wife Doris Baum of Seattle, WA, a sister, Charlotte Randall of Wells, a grandson, Alexander Miles of Seattle, WA, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
  Besides her parents and husband Frank she was preceded in daeth by a daughter Jean Louise Miles in 1992 and a brother, Theodore Palmer in 1974.
  A service for Mrs. Miles will be on Wednesday at 11:00am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Str., Herkimer. The Rev. Wrightson Tongue, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be later this spring in Oak Hill Cemetery at a time to be announced. There are no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made to First United Methodist Church, Herkimer Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.


Frank Ensign Miles

  Frank Ensign Miles, age 87, of North Prospect Street, passed away on Saturday November 10, 2001 in Valley Health Services Inc.
  He was born on June, 15, 1914 in Adams Center, NY son of the late Willis and Adelaide Boomer Miles. Frank and his family moved to Remsen when he was at an early age. His father was a Telegrapher for the New York Central Railroad. Frank was a graduate of Remsen High School and went on to graduate from Schenectady Technical Institute.
  In 1941 he married Lois Davis, they had a daughter Jean Louise Miles. Lois Davis Miles died in 1944. Jean Louis passed away from Multiple Sclerosis in 1992. In 1947 he married Louise Palmer a loving and devoted union of Fifty-four years. They had one son Frank Palmer Miles.
  Frank was a service manager for the Smith Corona Company in Utica, retiring in 1972. Since his retirement he has resided in Floria during the winter months.
  He was a member of the First Untited Methodist Church, Herkimer, a fifty year plus member of Herkimer Lodge #423 F.&A.M.. His other memberships in Masonic bodies included the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Egypt Temple Shrine, Tampa, FL, the Lakeland Florida Shrine Club. Frank clowned as "Bashful" for the Shrine Children's Hospitals. Lakeland is the winter home of the Detroit Tigers Baseball Team; he along with other Shriners worked the cocession stand to raise money for the Hospitals. He will always be remembers as a kind, gentle man and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
  Surviving are his wife and best friend of fifty-four years Louise, a son and his wife; Frank Palmer and Doris Baum Miles of Seattle,WA, one brother and his wife; Wesley Llewellyn and his wife Dorothy Miles, a grandson Alexander Baum Miles, several nieces and nephews.
  Besides his parents, his first wife and their daughter Jean Louise he was prceded in death by a sister Adelaide Lennox.
  A service in memory of both Frank and his daughter Jean Louise will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Rev. William Otis pastor of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
  The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the excellent care and support given to both Frank and Louise at Valley Health Services. This includes Medical Staff, Nursing Staff, Dietary and Housekeeping. Their gratefullness can never be adequately expressed.
  Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Childre's Hospitals.

  Miss Louise A. Palmer, daughter of Llewellyn D. Palmer and the late Mary Folts Palmer, 418 Prospect St, was married at 3 p m today to Frank E Miles son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Miles, Remsen.
  The Rev. Fred G. Cotnam, pastor of the First Methodist Church, performed the ceremony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter French aunt and uncle of the bride, W. German St., before a fireplace trimmed with white garden flowers.
  Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Howard Lennox, Pittsfield, Mass., sister and brother-in-law of the bridegroom, were the attending couple. Miss Jean Louise Miles, namesake of the bride, served as flower girl.
  The bride wore a white silk afternoon dress with appliques of lace, and a corsage of twin orchids. Mrs. Lennox wore a pastel pink afternoon dress with a corsage of sweetheart roses, while the flower girl was attired in a yellow French organdy dress, and carried a miniature colonial bouquet.
  After a reception immediately following the ceremony, the couple left for a trip through northern New York State. For traveling, Mrs. Miles chose an imported blue chambray dress with a white coat and accessories. Upon their return they will reside at 412 N. Prospect St.
  The bride is a graduate of Herkimer High School, the Faxton Hospital, School of Nursing, and the College of Public Health Nursing, Syracuse. She has been local school nurse for the past two years. The bridegroom graduated from Remsen High School and the Shop Unit of the Schenectady Vocational School.
  The mother of the gridegroom wore a green silk jersey dress with a corsage of sweetheart roses.
  Pre-nuptial events were given by Mrs. Harold Sterling, Miss Dorothy Hicks, Miss Mary Louise Ford, Miss Jean Bastow, Mrs. Wyman Haynes and Mrs. J. Howard Weir.
  Guests were present from Pittsfield, Mass., Hartford, Conn., Camden, South Carolina, and Rochester.

 - Wedding Announcement (The Evening Telegram, Herkimer, NY, Thursday, February 14, 1946)
  The marriage of Lt. Charlotte Palmer, Army Nurse Corps, and Wallace R. Randall, Gouverneur, was solemnized Feb. 5, 1946, in Johnson City, Tenn., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gunnar J. Teilmann, with Chaplain G. J. Teilmann, Jr., performing the double ring ceremony, it was learned here today.
  The bride, daughter of Llewellyn D. Palmer, N. Prospect St., wore the army nurse’s uniform and carried a bouquet of gardenias and sweet peas tied with white satin. She was attended by Miss Anna Marie Teilmann, who was attired in black velvet and wore gardenias in her hair. G. J. Teilmann Sr., served as the best man.
  A white altar was improvised, using the cross and candlesticks which Chaplain Teilmann used on the battlefield in France. Candelabra flanked the altar and a basket of white gladioli stood in the foreground.
  Following the ceremony, the bride and bridegroom cut the wedding cake during an informal reception. The dining room was decorated with white tapers and the bridal table covered with a white lace cloth.
  The couple left after the reception for a wedding trip. Mrs. Randall is at present assigned to the England General Hospital, Atlantic City, N. J. After her discharge, expected soon, she will go to Hiwassee College, Madisonville, Tenn., as college nurse.
   The bridegroom a former sergeant and assistant to Chaplain Teilmann, was discharged from the army in January and has enrolled at Hiwassee College.
  He served six and one half years in the army, being at Pearl Harbor during the Jap attack on Dec. 7, 1941. Later he was wounded on Guadalcanal while serving with the famous 25th division. For the past year he has been a chaplain’s assistant at the England General Hospital.

  Veteran - U.S. Army and was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, 551st Division during World War II. He was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge and received a Purple Heart
  Married Marian Allen on Oct 3, 1942 in Glens Falls NY and were the parents of 9 children
   He graduated from Albany Medical School in 1951 and went into general practice for several years before going on to a career in psychiatric medicine that spanned 5 decades. He was a staff psychiatrist and clinical director at the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury; medical director at the Washington County Mental Health Clinic; assistant clinical professor for UVM; and psychiatric consulet for Central Vermont Hospital
 Survived by his 9 children and their families; 27 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 2 brothers

Born in Glens Falls, NY, on June 13, 1949, Tim was the fourth of nine children of John N. Stark, MD and Marian (Allen) Stark. Tim attended public school in Glens Falls, NY, and Waterbury, VT, and graduated from Harwood Union High School, Duxbury, VT.
   Tim joined the US Navy after high school and spent much of his tour of duty in the Pacific during the Viet Nam conflict, stationed at Subic Bay, Philippines as well as California and Hawaii. Tim earned a degree in electronics at Arapahoe Community College near Denver, CO. Tim applied his knowledge through 32 years of employment with IBM, Essex, VT.
   On Sept. 8, 1992, Tim married Vanessa Allen of Southwest Harbor, ME, who survives her husband.
   In addition to his beloved wife, Tim leaves eight siblings, Ben Stark and Barb Cady of Westford, VT; John S. Stark and Cher Rinder of Middlebury, VT; Jeff Stark of Westford, VT; Bill and Suzanne Stark of Frisco, NC; Carma Stark and Bill Tuthill of Westford, VT; Karen and Bill Torrey of West Bolton, VT; Amy Stark and Jeff Maynes of Huntington, VT; Holly Stark and Bryan Carson of East Middlebury, VT; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins .
  Tim and Vanessa lived in Westford, VT, for many years where they had built a house on the Stark family farm. One of the simple joys of his life was stopping to have coffee with his mother early every morning on his way to work. When Tim retired from IBM in 2012, he and Vanessa moved to Naples, FL, and summered on a beautiful lake in Dedham, ME. They spent years together riding their horses with their friends and traveling together. An avid reader and bike rider, Tim was kind-hearted, quick to laugh, and a gentle soul who was deeply loved and appreciated by his family and friends. His siblings remember the many family trips together as children, crossing the country in a motor home, being chased by a bear at Yellowstone, jumping into freezing cold water of a mountain stream, visiting the remote family camp at Woodhull Lake, NY, and tenting under Dad’s parachute in the many camping trips along the Atlantic coast.
  The family wants to thank New Hope Hospice for their excellent care.
  A graveside service will be held at Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor.
