  Ilion - Mrs. Earle L. Harris, formerly of Ilion, died May 13, 1944 in Edgewater Hospital, Miami Fla., after a long illness.
  Mrs. Harris was the former Miss Ida Tefft. She was born in Ilion, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Fremont Tefft. She was a graduate of Ilion High School and Teachers Training School. For several years she taught in Tuger School, Herkimer. On Oct. 30, 1912, she married Mr. Harris and lived in Chicago and later in Tennessee. Since 1925 they have made their home in Miami.
  Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Mrs. David M. Parker, New Oleans; Mrs. Harvey L. Feil, Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Homer C. Frasier, Coral Gables, Fla. two sisters, Mrs. Roy Chesebrough and Mrs. Clark L. Trumper, Ilion, and two grandchildren, Gene Feil and John Fraiser. Interment will be in Chattanooga, Tenn.

  Ilionm Oct. 30, - at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the first Baptist Church occurred the marriage of Miss Ida Tefft of this village to Earl L. Harris of Chicago. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Calvin French in the presence of immeditate relatives. Miss Tefft, who is the daughter of J. J. Tefft, is a graduate of the Ilion High School and teachers training class, and for several years has tasught in the primary grades of the Herkimer Schools. The groom is a son of Charles W. Harris of Chattanooga, Tenn., and holds the position of estimator in the Chicago office of George Fuller Construction Company. The pre-nuptual functions in honor of the bride included a bridge----- by Miss Leta --oss, a dinner by the teachers of the Routh (?) school of Herkimer, aluncheon by Mrs. Oram Pollard of Oriskany Falls, a series of evening entertainm,ents by Mrs. Frank Bellinger, Mrs. Ftank Thurwood, Miss Elmira and Miss L'Afeoreaux. Mr. and Mrs. Cheesebourough and Miss Helen Teffts, and an eight course dinner given Saturday evening by Messrs. Neals and Roberts -- -- of the friends of Miss Teffts. The gift of the groom to his bride was a diamond and pearl circlet. After the wedding journey to Tennessee and other southern points Mr. and Mrs. Harris will reside in Chicago.

  Charles F. Kaiser Jr. Ret. Attorney, 92
  Charles F. Kaiser Jr. of Naples, Fla., died Wed, Nov 24, 1999. He was 92. The s/o the late Charles F. & M. Victoria Mueller Kaiser, he was b in Youngsville in 1907.
  Mr. Kaiser graduated from Union University Albany Law School LLB and worked for over 50 years as an attorney. He retired as a member of the law firm of Kaiser, Murray and Collier Esqs. in Ellenville.
  He was a member of the New York State, American and Ulster County Bar Associations. During his career, Mr. Kaiser was on the Committees of Grievances and Professional Discipline, chairman of the Third Judicial Dept Committee of Professional Standards, a member of the Committee on Clients Security Fund, an honorary trustee of the former Ellenville Savings Bank, a judge for the Village of Ellenville Court, supervisor for the Township of Wawarsing and the assistant secretary for the New York State Constitutional Convention in 1938.
  During World War II, he was a corporal in the Dept of Intelligence and Security. He was honored by the Ulster County Bar Association for voluntary Svc. to charitable, civic and religious organizations. In 1955 & 1969 he was mentioned in the Who's Who in the East.
  Mr. Kaiser was an over 65-year member and past master of the Wawarsing Masonic Lodge No. 582 in Ellenville and a member and past commander of the Cook-Taylor Post No. 111, American Legion, in Ellenville. He was also a member of the Spanish Wells Country Club and Moorings Presbyterian Ch in Naples, Fla.

 Obituary (Find A Grave)
  Louise Cooper, age 97, of Boone and the Eastern Star Masonic Home died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the Boone County Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Eastern Star Masonic Home with Rev. Phil Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Madrid.
  Louise was born in Madrid, Iowa on October 1, 1908 the daughter of Earl and Alta (Clement) Brown. She graduated from Madrid High School in 1926 and attended a year at the Iowa State Teachers College. She began teaching at the Hillsdale Rural School near Madrid where she taught for two years. She then taught school for three years at Goldfield, Iowa. Later, she became Deputy Superintendent of Schools for Boone County from 1933 to 1943. On March 18, 1943, she married Willard Cooper in Madrid. In 1943, she and her husband moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she worked for Garrett Freight Lines as a cashier. In December of 1943, the couple moved to Pocatello, Idaho where they lived for 48 years and she was office manager for Garrett Freight Lines. Louise moved back to Boone in 1991. Her main hobby was oil painting and she loved to paint landscapes and flowers. In earlier years, she enjoyed playing bridge, growing flowers, was active in the First United Methodist Church, and she and her husband enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the D.A.R.(Daughters of the American Revolution), Order of the Eastern Star, First United Methodist Church, and she belonged to several bridge clubs. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Helen Partello. She is survived by a sister, Betty Littlehale of Cherokee, Iowa; a nephew, Edward Bargfield and wife, Beverly of Knoxville, Illinois, two nieces, Susan Dove of Cedar Rapids, and Mary Raveling and husband, Rod of Cherokee; several great nieces and great nephews.
  Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Monday from noon until 9 p.m. where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. Visitation continues Tuesday at the Chapel of the Eastern Star from 11 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church or the Eastern Star Masonic Home.

  HERKIMER—Lloyd Kast, 82, of 302 E. German St., employed since 1952 by the Oak Hill Cemetery as a groundskeeper, died yesterday in Herkimer Memorial Hospital.
  He was bom at Kast Bridge, son of Webster and Gertrude E. Farmer Kast. He was twice married. His first wife, Pearl B. Shaul, died in 1951. He married Elizabeth Rasch in 1954 in Herkimer.
  Mr. Kast lived most of his life at Kast Bridge where he was engaged in farming. He retired in 1951 and came to Herkimer in 1954. Mr Kast attended Christ Episcopal Church.
  Besides his wife, he leaves a son. Maynard L. Kast, vice president of the Marine Midland Bank and manager of its Herkimer Branch.
  The funeral will be at 9 Monday from Chnst Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
  Calling hours at the Fenner Funeral Home are from 7 to 9 tomorrow and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Sunday

  Mrs. Pearl B. Kast, 64, died last night in her home, RD 1, Herkimer, after a long illness.
  She was born on Feb. 5, 1887, in the Town of Stark, a daughter of McClellan and Emer Hines Shaul. Mrs. Kast came to this Village when a child and, graduated from Herkimer High School. She attended teachers’ training class at Middleville, after which she taught in district schools in this vicinity for a few years.
  Her marriage to Lloyd Kast took place in Herkimer on Oct. 9, 1907. She was a member of the First Universalist Church.
  Besides her husband, she leaves one son, Maynard Kast, and two granddaughters, all of this village. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday from the Fenner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

  Wednesday evening at the home of Mr and Mrs. McClellan Shaul in this village occurred the marriage of their daughter, Miss Pearl Belle to Hiram Lloyd Kast, son of Mr. and Mrs. Webster Kast of Kast Bridge. The ceremony was performed by by Rev. E. V. Stevens and as this was his fiftieth ceremony during his pastorate in Herkimer, he presented Mr. and Mrs Kast with a large family Bible. Miss Clara Drury played the wedding march. The company were attended by by Miss Lulu Farrington and Earl Smith, a cousin of the groom from Middleville. The groom's gift to the bried (sic) was a pearl necklace with pendant. To the best man he gave a pair, of gold cuff buttons The bride's gift to the groom was a handsome diamon (sic) scarf pin and to her maid she gave a gold band ring. After the ceremony a reception was held at which the relatievs and a few intimate friends of the contracting parties were present. Mr. and Mr. (sic) Kast left on an evening train for Syracuse and other western cities where they will spend their honey moon. Upon their return they will reside at Kast Bridge. The bride is and accopmlished youn glady, being a graduate of Herkimer High Schoo (sic) and a teachers' training class a (sic) Middleville. the groom is a prosperous young farmer. both have a host of friends who wish them every happiness.

  Miss Elizabeth Rasch, daughter of Mrs. Emma Rasch, 302 E. German St., and Lloyd Kast, RD 1, Herkimer, were married at 11 a.m. today in Christ Episcopal Church by the Rev. E. Paul Parker, rector.
  Attending the couple were Mrs. Abby Blunt and the bride’s brother, Venner Rasch, both of Herkimer. A luncheon for the wedding party followed at Mahaqua Farms.
  Following a short trip, the couple will reside at 302 E. German St. Miss Rasch is the Herkimer village nurse.
