Marriage Notes for Ruth Irene Petrie and Frederick Charles Rashley

 - Wedding Announcement (Jamestown Evening Journal, NY, Saturday, August 28, 1926)
  In the parsonage of the First Methodist Eplscopal church this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Dr. Ames Maywood officiating, Miss Ruth Irene Petrie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard V. Petrie, 1094 East Second street was united in marriage with Frederick Charles Rashley, son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Rashiey, Sr.. 918 Newland avenue. The bride, who was attired in canary yellow crepe de chine, trimmed with embroidery and beads, with picture hat to match, was attended by Miss Anna E. D. Johnson, who wore light green, with picture hat to match. The best man was Harold Stokes. The bride presented the groom with a watch chain and cuff links and her attendant with silver. The groom gave the best man cuff links.
   A wedding dinner and reception were held at the Petrie residence following the ceremony, with members of the two families in attendance, the Misses Ethel Anderson and Beatrice Johnson acting as waitresses. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Rashley departed on a wedding trip to Toronto, Can. They will he at home at 918 Newland avenue after Sept. 6.
  Mr. Rashiey is a member of The Journal composing room force and well known as a soccer football player, now being a member of the Art Metal team. Mrs. Rashley has until recently been in the employ of the Straight Dry Plate company.
  A pre-nuptial affair was given recently in honor of the bride by the girls of the Straight Dry Plate company.

Marriage Notes for George E Rashley and Jeanne Paulette DeWeese

 - Wedding Announcement (Schenectady Gazette, NY, undated, 1955)
   Miss Jeanne Paulette DeWeese, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roland DeWeese of Blue Barns road, Rexford, became the bride of George E. Rashley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Rashley of Eastern parkway, on March 5. The ceremony was held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Daniel Fiehler officiating.
  The altar was decorated with white gladioli and mums and traditional wedding music was given by Miss Virginia Sands, organist.
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white chantllly lace and tulle over satin, fashioned with an illusion neckline. Her fingertip veil was of net and lace and carried a bouquet of traditional bridal roses, carnations and stephanotis.
  Attending the bride were Miss Joan Boice, maid of honor, and Mrs. Maxine Stone, sister of the bridegroom, as matron of honor. Miss Boice wore a powder blue crystalette gown with a pink floral wreath in her hair, and carried pink carnations. Mrs. Stone was in a gown of shrimp colored crystalette with a blue floral headpiece, and carried blue carnations.
  The best man waa Richard Soellner and ushers were Melvin White and Richard DeWeese, brother of the bride.
  The mother of the bride wore a navy blue-taffeta gown with pink flowered hat and pink rosebud corsage. The bridegroom's mother chose a navy blue crepe dress with matching hat and white rosebud corsage.
  A reception was held following the ceremony at the General Electric Women's club, for 100 guests. For departure on a wedding trip to Washington, DC, the bride wore a navy blue suit with matching accessories and a white hat. Her corsage was of red roses.
  Mrs. Rashley, a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake high school, is employed as a secretary at the Knolls Atomic Power laboratory.
  Mr. Rashley is a graduate of Jamestown high school and attended Union College. He is now serving with the U.S. Navy. They will make their home in Scotia,
  Among out of town guests here for the wedding were Mrs. Amy Magnuson and Mrs. Grace Rashley of Jamestown, Miss Violet Rashley of Albany and Paul Moynihan of Newport, RI.
  Entertaining at the rehearsal dinner the evening preceding the wedding were the bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Rashley.

  CHRISTMAS EVE MARRIAGE OF COUPLE IS ANNOUNCED
  The marriage of Miss Dorothy Petrie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Petrie, of Jamestown, to Gerald Melquist, son of Mrs. Anna Melquist and the late Fritz Melquist, R.F.D. 1, Jamestown, took place Christmas Eve at Russell. Pa.. Justice of the Jeace C. J. Clark officiated.
  The attendants were Miss Alice Carlson and Harold Girts of Jamestown, friends of the couple.
  The bride wore a street-length gown at royal blue velvet with gold trimming and the bridesmaid dawn blue crepe and a gold locket, the present of the bride.
  A wedding dinner was given at the home of the bride by her mother the Immediate families attending. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Petrie and family of Roulette, Pa.
   Mrs. Melquist was graduated from the Jamestown High school in 1935. Mr. Melquist is employed at the Crescent Tool company.
  They will make their home at 13 McKinley avenue.

  Marvin Melquist, aged five months and 25 days, died at W.C.A. hospital Sunday morning at 1:26 o'clock, after an illness of three months. He was the son of Gerald and Dorothy Petrie Melquist, 1091 East Second street, and was born Jan. 4, 1941. Surviving also are the grandparents, Mrs. Anna J. Melquist, and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Petrie, all of Jamestown. Funeral services will be held at the Henderson & Lincoln chapel Tuesday at 1:30 p. m., with interment in Busti.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Floyd, Clifford, Chester, Alfred, Harold, and Robert Loomis; and four sisters, Floy, Inez, Blanche, and Audrey Loomis.

  He was born Sept. 30, 1917, in Sugar Grove, the daughter of Charles E. and Ida Mae Lawson Loomis.
  He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the 5th Army Division as an artillery gunner. He had been employed by the former Inter-Royal Deluxe Corporation for 29 years as a shipping clerk, retiring in 1979.He is survived by his wife, Rose M. Papalia Loomis, whom he married May 31, 1946, in Warren; three sons: Harold ''Jay'' Jr. and Marty Loomis, both of Warren, and Charles Loomis of North Warren; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Clair Loomis of Warren; and a sister, Irene Miller of Warren.
  He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

  Mrs. McCray was born March 12, 1910, in Bear Lake, Pa., daughter of the late Clyde and Alice Loomis Baccus.
  She was raised and educated in the Bear Lake and Blue Eye areas, and graduated from Columbus High School in 1928. Following her marriage, her main priorities were raising her family and helping her husband on their dairy farm near Cutting, N.Y. From 1942 until 2003, Mrs. McCray had resided on her farm in Cutting. During World War II, she was employed at the former Aero Supply Co. in Corry.
  For many years, Mrs. McCray had been the tax collector for the town of French Creek.
  She was a member of the Cutting Community Church.
  Mrs. McCray enjoyed crocheting and making quilts. She found great pleasure in giving these quilts to friends and family members.
  She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. McCray on July 23, 1973. They were married Nov. 19, 1930.
  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Howard; a son, Billy McCray and two sisters: Leah Messenger and Doris Bailey.
  Mrs. McCray is survived by a daughter, Jean Brumagin and her husband, Glenn of Gowanda, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Donna McCray of Clymer; a son, Leo McCray of Clymer and a sister, Leda Dahl of Corry. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

  NEW HARTFORD - Roger H. WillIiams, of Lloyds Lane, a practicing Utica attorney, died suddenly February 2l, 1984 at the St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Center.
  He was born in Utica. son of Clarence and Florence Carpenter Williams. He attended Utica schools and graduated from Colgate University and the Cornell Law School.
  Mr. Williams was a member of the Oneida County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
  He was also a member of the Rotary Club of Utica, Liberty Lodge #959 F&AM, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite 32nd Degree and the Ziyara Shrine Temple.
  He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Williams of New Hartford; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger B. and Carolyn
Williams of Syracuse; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Thomas Kellogg of Simsburg, Connecticut; one daughter, Barbara Williams, Charlottesville, Virginia; one step-son, Scott Pennock of Syracuse; two step-daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Paul Steimle of Binghamton and Janette and Robert Hill of Burke. NY; eight grandchildren; David and Kara Williams, Peter and Elizabeth Kellogg, Gretchen and Matthew Steimle, Emily and Benjamin Hill.
  Friends are invited to attend services Sunday at 3 p.m. at the New Hartford United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William G. Cruikshank officiating. There are no calling hours.
