Helen J. Stevens Helen J. Stevens, 90, passed away in Napa on January 17, 2004. Born in Lindsay, CA on January 25, 1913,
Helen was reared and educated there. She worked at J.C. Penney and in the orange packing business in Lindsay and was married in Holy City, CA on Sept. 21, 1929 to H. Eugene Stevens. She moved to Richmond, CA in 1942 where she drove trucks at the shipyards during WWII and later worked for 25 years as a forelady at Del Monte Cannery in Oakland. Helen retired in 1975, moved to Lake Berryessa in 1978, and moved to Napa in 1985. She enjoyed needlework and traveling in her motorhome and held memberships in Beacon Chapter No. 383, OES and Cannery Workers Local No. 705 of Oakland.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth E. Stevens of Villa Park, Ca and James E. "Bud" Stevens of Napa, seven gr gandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death.

ST, CHARLES - Charles V. Stevens, 82, of rural Wabasha, a retired longtime St. Charles painter, died Friday evening at his home of a heart condition.
He was born July 29, 1898 in rural Byron, and married Alma WISKOW on Jan. 2, 1929, in St. Charles. She survives.
Mr. Stevens worked as a painter in St. Charles until retiring in 1962. The couple moved to Wabasha in 1976. Besides his wife; survivors include three sons, Edward, William and Robert, all of St. Charles; five daughters, Mrs. Dora Dahl of La Crescent, Mrs. Mark (Neva) Christianson of Stewartville, Mrs. Joseph (Margie) Bartz of St. Paul, Mrs. Gerald (Janet) Dailey of St. Charles and Mrs. Melvin (Janice) Harnack of Eyota; 41 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph, Walter, and Donald, all of St. Charles; and two sisters, Mrs. Lineal (Lucy) Plank and Mrs. Kermit (Rhoda) Kahring, both of St. Charles. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sellner-Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles with the Rev. Allan Crieze officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. There will be no reviewal at the church.

ST. CHARLES - Alma B. Stevens, 87, a longtime St. Charles resident, died Monday evening at Whitewater Manor Health Care Center in St. Charles.
Born Alma B. Wiskow on April 21, 1904, in St. Charles, she married Charles Stevens on Jan. 2, 1929 in St. Charles where they lived until moving to Wabasha in 1976. Mrs. Stevens returned to St. Charles after her husband's death on July 3, 1981. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Ridge Homemakers and the St. Charles Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and William, both of St. Charles; five daughters, Mrs. Dora Dahl of Prescott, Ariz., Neva (Mrs. Mark) Christenson of Stewartville, Margie (Mrs. Ron) Buckley of Las Vegas, Nev., Janet (Mrs. Gerald Dailey of St. Charles and Janis (Mrs. Melvin) Harnack of Eyota; 41 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Wiskow and Emmanuel Wiskow, both of St. Charles;and four sisters, Viola Witt on Ontario, Wisc., Annie Ringler of Motley, Minn., and Grace (Mrs.Walter) Benedett and Ruby Wiskow, both of St. Charles. A son, three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles, with the Rev. Norman Wahl oficiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at 9 a.m. to 11:0 a.m. Thursday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles and an hour before the service at the church.

Lucy Elizabeth Plank -- St. Charles
ST. CHARLES -- Services for Lucy Elizabeth Plank of St. Charles will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sharon Johnson officiating. Spring burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.
Mrs. Plank, 80, died Tuesday (Dec. 19, 2000) at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester.
Lucy Elizabeth Stevens was born April 20, 1920, in Quincy Township, Olmsted County. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1939. On Nov. 22, 1944, she married Lineal Plank in St. Charles and they made their home in the St. Charles area. She was a homemaker.
Mr. Plank died Sept. 13, 1985. She had resided at Maple Manor since May. She was a member of St. Charles United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Larry (Judy) of Rochester, Ricky (Patty) of Faribault and Daniel (Karen) of Lewiston; two daughters, Deborah (Richard) Shafer and Rochelle Befort, both of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and a sister, Rhoda Kahring of Las Vegas. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Hoff Funeral Home's St. Charles Chapel and at the church for an hour prior to the service Monday

Lineal K. Plank, 69, of St. Charles, Dies
St. Charles - Lineal K. Plank, 69, of St. Charles, a heavy-equipment operator in this area for many years, died Friday at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Orion Township of Olmsted County, and married the former Lucy Stevend Nov 22 1944.
He served in the Army in WWII, mainly in the Aleutian Islands.
After ther marriage, the couple made their home all their life here. He worked as heavy-eqipment operator and at various other jobs.
He was a member of the St. Charles American Legion post and was a member and past commander of the local VFW. He was also a member of the 49ers labor union.
Mr. Plank is Survived by his wife; three sons, Larry of Rochester, Ricky of Altura and Daniel of St. Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Deborah) Shafer of Rochester and Mrs. John (Rochelle) Befort of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Stevens of Eyota, Mrs. Bernard (Josephine) Decker of Lake City, Mrs. Eunice Knudson of Rochester and Mrs. Elmer (Annabelle) Uthke of Dover. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the St. Charles United Methodist Church with The Rev. David Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery here.
Friends may call at the Sellner-Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday then at the church an hour before the service.
