  Anna Ida Dukesherer, 94, of Benton Harbor, went to meet her Lord & Savior, Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center, St. Joseph.A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Robert Confer officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus. Friends may call beginning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Church of God Endowment Fund or Feed the Children.
   Mrs. Dukesherer was born June 24, 1910 in Poland to Julius & Maria (Getz) Peters. On May 5, 1934 she married Leo Dukesherer in South Bend, Indiana. Together they operated a fruit farm in Sodus & Eau Claire beginning in 1940. Ida was a member of the First Church of God in St. Joseph. Mrs. Dukesherer is survived by her son-Jack (Evelyn) Dukesherer of Benton Harbor; three grandchildren-Sharon (Steven) McCloughan of Elkhart, IN; Rhonda (Devin) McCray of Sodus; Kevin (Lisseth) Dukesherer of San Diego, CA; four great grandchildren-Erin & Jackie McCloughan, Justin & Melissa Mauchmar; a step-great-granddaughter-Jourdan McCray; a brother-Adolph (Mickey) Peters of Mesa, AZ; two sisters-Edna Rowlee of Eaton Rapids, MI, Violet (Jim) Harper of Texas; a half brother Gus Peters of Naubinway, MI and a half sister Evelyn Schutze of Niles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step mother-Tillie Peters, her husband Leo on April 23, 2003, and by several half & step brothers & sisters.

  The ceremony was performed at the parochial residence by the Rev. J. B Gilloon, pastor of Church of the Annunciation.
  The bridesmaid was Miss Margaret Donovan the bridegroom's sister, and the best man was Samuel Bubb, brother of the bride.
  The bride was gowned in blue velvet with hat and shoes to match and carried pink roses. The bridesmaid wore a cream colored dress with matching accessories and also carried pink roses.

 - Wedding Announcement (The Ilion Sentinel, Thursday, September 5, 1940)
  The Annunciation church on Labor Day morning was the scene of the marriage of Miss Anne Stasko, daughter of Michael Stasko, N. Ilion, to Samuel Bubb, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bubb, Sr., Spinnerville. The Rev. James A. Nolan, officiated.
  Miss Stasko was attended by Miss Helene Urtz, Ilion, as maid of honor and Miss Margaret Bubb, sister of the bridegroom, as junior bridesmaid. The best man was John Stasko, Mohawk, brother of the bride, and the ushers were Robt. Stasko, N. Ilion, and Arthur Bubb, Spinnerville.
  The bride's white satin gown was made in princess styte with a train and trimmed with lace inserts. Her long net veil was also trimmed with lace and fell from a Mary Stuart cap. Her flowers were Easter lilies, and baby's breath. Miss Urtz' gown was dusty rose faille taffeta and she carried pink roses. The junior bridesmaid wore a long blue taffeta frock with a heart-shaped hat to match and completed the picture with a colonial bouquet.
  Breakfast for the wedding party was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Dawley, which was followed later by a reception for about 60 guests at the home of the grooms parents. For this occasion the house was decorated with baskets of mixed gladioli.
  After the reception, the young couple left for New York and will live in Spinnerville on their return. Both are graduates of Ilion High school. Mrs. Bubb is assistant manager of the W. T. Grant Company store and Mr Bubb works with his father in the dairy business.

 - Wedding Announcement (The Ilion Sentinel, NY, Thursday, October 29, 1942)
  The marriage of Miss Norma Bubb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel A Bubb, Spinnerville, to Lieut. Emery M. Hensley, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hensley, Island City, Ky., took place Sunday, October 18, in the Covenant Presbyterian Church, at Bisbee, Arizona. The Rev. Griffith Davies performed the ceremony.
  The attending couple were, Miss Betty J. Kaupe, a friend of the bride, and Lieut. Wesley Thompson, roommate of the bridegroom.
  Miss Bubb wore a velvet and wool black suit and white silk blouse, black hat with short veil. She carried a white prayer book decorated with white gardenias and streamers of satin ribbon. Miss Bubb's attendant, Miss Betty Kaupe, wore a black afternoon dress with matching hat. Her flowers were gardenias.
   The church was decorated with yellow chrysanthemum and several selections were played by the church organist before the ceremony.
  Mrs. Hensley was graduated from Mohawk high school and Northwestern Business School, Phoenix, Ariz. She is now employed as a junior stenographer in the hospital at Port Huachuca, Ariz.
  Mr. Hensley graduated from Berea College, Ky., and is now stationed with the 369th Regiment at Port Huachuca. He received his commission as first lieutenant two days after his marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Hensley are motoring to Mr. Hensley's home in Kentucky, and upon their return, will make their home in Warren, Ariz.

Marriage Notes for Harry Nelson Stevens and Joan C Morgan

 - Wedding Announcement (The Holley standard, NY, Thursday, May 13, 1937)
  A charming wedding took place Saturday afternoon. May 8, 1937 at four o'clock in the Church of the Saviour at Akron, Ohio; when Miss Joan C. Morgan, daughter of Mrs. Crannell Morgan of 118 Mayfield Avenue, Akron, became the bride of Harry N. Stevens of that city, son of Frederick N. stevens of Kendall and the late Blanche Wellman Stevens.
  The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Strambaugh in accordance with the rites of the Episcopal church. Ferns and forsythia formed the decorations and the Wedding March from Lohengrin was rendered by the organist, Miss Maxon, as the bridal party approached the alter.
  The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Robert Morgan, of Cleveland, was attired in white marquesette over satin with a fichu of hand made lace from her grandmother's wedding gown. Her veil was arranged in cap fashion and she carried a bouquet of purple pansies and lillies-of-the-valley.
  The bridesmaid, Miss Louise Morgan, cousin of the bride, wore blue taffeta trimmed with blue and pink velvet and a picture hat of blue and pink, and carried pink roses.
  Gilbert B. Forbes of Kendall, a cousin of the groom, was the best man.
  Following the cerimony a wedding supper was held at the home of the bride's mother, at which fourty guests were present. The house was most attractively decorated with roses, snapdragons and stock.
  The bride is a graduate of Mt. Holyoke, and the groom of Kendall High School, Genesee Wesleyan Seminery and Yale University.
  On their return from a southern wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Stevens will reside in Akron, where Mr. Stevens is employed as a patent attorney for teh B. F. Goodrich Company.

  Mr. and Mrs. Harry N. Stevens of Brecksville, Ohio, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sarah, to Robert A. Stevens, son of Mrs. Carey R. Stevens of Mt. Kisco, N. Y.
  Miss Stevens is attending Ohio Wesleyan University. Mr. Stevens has recently been discharged from the U.S. Navy after serving four years here and abroad. He is also attending Ohio Wesleyan University.
  Both Miss Stevens and Mr. Stevens are summering here, and are on the staff of the Sea Spray Inn.
