  Ruth J. (Cole) Thayse, 80, of Suamico, WI died unexpectedly Friday, May 6, 2011 at home. She was born on Feb. 6, 1931 in Omro, Wis. to Merrill Cole and Edna (Allen) (Cole) Kruske.
  On December 4, 1970 she married Bert Thayse. Throughout her life she was employed at Kaap’s Bakery, the Four Way Bar and Grill and cleaned homes. Ruth was a talented musician and she passed this talent to her children. She enjoyed playing the piano, organ and the accordion and singing in quartets. Ruth was a great cook and baker. She enjoyed tending her vegetable garden and fishing with her husband. Ruth was a dedicated housewife and a loving mother. She embraced everyone and captured you with her addictive laughter.
  Ruth will be sadly missed by her husband, Bert Thayse; 12 children, Susan Stodola, Betty Jo “B.J.” (Wayne) Magee, Cheryl (Wayne) Smet, Jan (David) Carpenter, Kenny (Cindy) Wardecke Jr., Jeff (Susie) Wardecke, B.T.(friend, D. K.), Sharon (Jack) Melotte, Jody Muller, Terry (Susan) Thayse, Arlen (Beth) Thayse, Chris (Mary) Thayse; Diane Dyer’s friend, John Holcomb; 47 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Dick Cole; a sister, Esther Cole; a sister-in-law, Marie (Melvin) Tombal; two brothers-in-law, Allen (Jean) Thayse, Gary (Sharon) Thayse; many nieces and nephews.
  She was preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Edna; a step-father, Tom Kruske; parents-in-law, Louis and Elizabeth Thayse; one son, Albert Thayse, Jr.; one daughter, Diane Dyer; a son-in-law, James Stodola; one granddaughter, Crystal Thayse; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Bonanfant and Nathan Maloney.
  Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday. The Funeral Service will be 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Suamico Cemetery.

 Clara Williams, age 88, of Thorp passed away Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 10:30am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Thorp with Rev. Daniel Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Sylvan Cemetery, Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp. Pallbearers will be: James Williams, Jr., Jason Williams, Adam Williams, Jesse Williams, Nicholas Williams, Tony Brent, Bob Brent, and Rob Noeldner. Visitation will be held at the Thorp Funeral Home on Monday, October 20, 2008 from 4pm until 8pm, and on Tuesday, 1 hour prior to services at the church.
  Clara Fillipeck was born on October 23, 1919 in Oglesby, IL to Frank and Anna (Kowalcyzk) Fillipeck. At the age of nine, Clara's family moved to the Thorp area where she received her education. She was united in marriage to Dewey Williams on June 16, 1941 in Neillsville, WI. Together, they farmed in the Town of Reseburg for a short time before moving to Withee. They returned to the Town of Reseburg twelve years later and operated the family farm until their retirement. Dewey later passed away on February 27, 1993. Clara continued to live on the farm until moving to the City of Thorp in 2005.
  She loved life and the time spent surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, both vegetables and flowers of all kinds, especially gladiolus. She also enjoyed crocheting afghans, cross-stitching, and canning.
   She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Withee Garden Club.
Clara is survived by her four children: Rollin (Kathy) Williams of New Berlin, WI, Shirley Williams of Thorp, WI, James (Diane) Williams of Willard and Darrel (Meg) Williams of Thorp; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dewey, one son: Richard Williams; one great-granddaughter: Samantha Noeldner and two sisters: Martha Robinson and Mary Zeke.

  Edward F. Eddie Williams, 85, of Volga, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services have been set for 1:00pm, Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Lake Campbell Lutheran Church, rural Volga. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Rudes Funeral Home in Brookings. Edward F. Eddie Williams was born August 15th, 1926, the son of Marshall and Clara (Curtice) Williams in Clark, SD. He attended school in Brookings, SD. Eddie left school in 1943 and joined the United States Navy, including serving during WWII in the Pacific. Eddie worked at the Sexaur Elevator for several years. He went to work at Council Oaks in 1948 where he met his wife-to-be Mary Gries. They were united in marriage on Valentines Day in 1953. In 1962 they purchased a farm near Volga where they have lived ever since. In 1965 he went to work at South Dakota State University until 1990. He was a member of the Volga American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and most of all spending time with family and friends. Eddie is survived by his wife, Mary Williams of Volga, SD; one sister, Helen (Lyle) Osmond of Brookings, SD; many nieces and nephews and his special dog, Tippy. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold Willy Williams.

  Memorial services were held in the Presbyterian Church in Brownsville, eldest son of Mrs. Grace Stewart, McCoy, and the late Sam L. Stewart, who died at him home Monday, Feb. 21. Burial was in the Stewart family plot in Bethel cemetery.
  Born east of McCoy March 4, 1891, he was married Dec. 16, 1916, to Jean Schomp. In 1918 they moved to Brownsville and engaged in farming. He was a member of the AAA committee for Linn county, and a member of the Brownsville School board for many years.
  Survivors include the widow, Jean; one daughter, Mrs. Margene Hillway, Portland; mother, Mrs. Grace Stewart, McCoy, two brothers, Glenn, Dayton, and Leslie, McCoy; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Landis, West Linn, Mrs. Nell Turner, Bethel, Mrs. Marjorie Hamstreet; and several nieces and nephews.

Marjorie Anna Nahouse

  Services for Marjorie Stewart of McMinnville will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 at the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors. The Rev. Jim Peterson will officiate. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery.
  Mrs. Stewart died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at Alterra Villas of McMinnville. She was 92.
  She was born Feb. 5, 1916, in Grass Valley, the daughter of Lester and Iva (Olds) Nahouse. At an early age, her family moved to New York. She relocated to Moro at age 11 and graduated from Moro High School. She attended Linfield College for two years where she met Leslie Stewart. They married June 28, 1935, in Moro.
  She lived in Glendale and Alturas, Calif. She returned to the family farm, located between Amity and Bethel, in 1942. She drove a bus for Perrydale School during the 1960s.
  She moved to Alterra Villas in 2003. She enjoyed watching sports on television, especially with her great-grandchildren, fishing, gardening, solitaire, crosswords, cards, camping and singing. She sang in the Polk County Choir.
  She also enjoyed traveling and had been to China, Russia, Scandinavia, Egypt and many other places. She was fond of her barn cats and loved spending time with her family, especially for gatherings on Memorial Day weekend.
  She is survived by a son, Sam Stewart of Rickreall; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; a son, Robert, in 1993; a brother Lyle Nahouse and a sister Genevieve Powell.

Darlene Deloris Wilcox

  Courageously and with her deep faith in the Lord, Darlene peacefully passed away at Salem Hospital, surrounded by family, and with prayers from countless friends.
  Loved by all, our beloved Darlene was mother of two, grandmother of four, and great-grandmother of 8. Born to Jack Wilcox and Leah Brethauer in McMinnville, she worked in the family's restaurant in Amity. After graduation from Amity High School Class of 1958, she attended business college and married her husband Robert L. Stewart in 1960. In 1964 the family moved to Alaska where Darlene was a librarian for the City of Juneau from 1974 to 1990. When Bob passed away in 1992, she relocated back to Salem.
  Darlene, always active, was a member of Salem Alliance Church and loved books, travel, gardening and family. A loving and caring person, she had many adoring friends.
  Darlene was preceded in death by her older brother Jack Wilcox, husband Bob, and grandson Ryan McGee. Our hearts and souls will forever remember her kind and generous spirit.
