PHOENIX, Sept. 7.— (Special)— Frank Rawson, 46, a laborer here, is in St Joseph's hospital, Syracuse with a self-inflicted gunshot wound under the left arm. His condition is not believed to be serious.
His wife told authorities who investigated that he left the house about 10:15 o'clock with 16 gauge shotgun. He disappeared in the section known as Victory Land, near the house. Becoming alarmed, Mrs. Rawson called Corporal Stevenson of the state troopers and the farms adjoining were searched. At 11:30 the party returned to the house and found that Rawson had also returned there, and shot himself. The discharge missed his heart but tore his sholder.
