  Margaret DuPrau (nee Weaver), 78, of Springfield PA and formerly of North Utica NY passed away Fri. Nov. 14, 2002. Margaret was born in Utica on June 11, 1924; a daughter of Robert and Dorothy (nee Richardson) Weaver. She was raised and educated in Utica and attended Russell Sage College. In Utica on April 19, 1947, Margaret married Lloyd B. DuPrau. For many years Margaret was employed with Commercial Travelers Insurance Co. in Utica. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, PA and Grace Episcopal, Utica, the Vestry and Altar Society of the Church and the Daughters, of the American Revolution. She was a past Board member of St. Luke's Memorial Hospital and did volunteer work for the American Red Cross. Margaret is survived by her husband, Lloyd; two sons and daughters-in-law; four grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Barbara Weaver, New Hartford NY. Margaret was predeceased by a brother, Robert Weaver... Burial took place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica...


Lloyd Bailie DuPrau

  Mr. Lloyd Bailie DuPrau, 92, of Acacia Village in Utica, formerly of Wappingers Falls, NY, North Utica and Springfield, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Lloyd was born on October 17, 1922, in Farrans Point, Ontario, Canada, the son of William and Victoria (Rutley) DuPrau. Lloyd received his high school education in Wappingers Falls, NY, and also at Utica Free Academy, where he graduated in 1941. Lloyd was a strong athlete in basketball and baseball and this was where he was affectionately given the nickname of "Dup".
   In 1941, Lloyd enlisted in the US Army, but was never called up until the spring of '43. He was a Sergeant with Company C, 721st Railway Operations Battalion, that was deployed to India. It was his dedicated service in protecting his country in the armed forces that earned him his US citizenship. Upon returning to the Utica area, Lloyd was employed with New York Central Railroad. On April 19, 1947, Lloyd married Margaret (Peggy) June Weaver, a devoted union of 55 years until Peggy's death in 2002. Lloyd later worked as a member of the Labor Relations Board in Syracuse, was a Trainmaster in Rochester and Trainmaster in Utica. He was then selected to be a supervisor on the North East Coast Division of the newly formed Penn Central Railroad in Philadelphia, a position he held until his retirement in 1983 after 42 years of service in the railroad industry. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Utica for over 50 years, a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Utica, and he loved sports and enjoyed fishing.
  Mr. DuPrau is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; three nieces; five nephews; and a special friend. He was predeceased by his son, John "Jack" DuPrau, and daughter-in-law, Lois M. DuPrau... His burial in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica will be held at the convenience of his family.

  Cohoes/Utica - John H. "Jack" DuPrau, 57, of Deerfield Dr., Cohoes died Friday, July 31, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy, embraced by his loving family. Born in Utica, he was the son of Lloyd DuPrau of Utica and the late Margaret Weaver DuPrau and beloved husband of Cynthia Payne DuPrau of Cohoes and the late Lois McLoughlin DuPrau. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his loving children, brother, step children, step grandchildren, father in law, very special sister in law, along with several brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews and many loved ones... Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica.

  Miss Barbara Sharon Dunmore, daughter of Earl William Dunmore, 18 Hartford Terr., and the late Mrs. Dunmore, and Robert Clayton Weaver Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Weaver, 408 Herkimer Rd., were married yesterday.
  The wedding took place at 4 p.m., in St. stephens Episcopal Church, the Rev. Roswell G. Williams officiating, assisted by the Rev. Stanley Gasek, pastor of Grace Episcopal Church, Utica.
  Mrs. James Scharre (?), Bryn Mawr, Pa., sister of the bride, was matron of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Alyce Dunmore and Mrs. Lloyd DuPrau.
  The best man was Lloyd DuPrau and the ushers were Robert Marble, Wiliam Craig, Robert Lackey and Edward Wessinger.
  The bride wore a gown white organdy with an eyelet collar and cuffs. Her fingertip veil was caught with eyelet bows and she carried a prayer book with a marker of white orchids and a shower of small flowers.
  Mrs. Schuaare wore a gown of aqua marquisette with a matching net Juliet cap. Miss Dunmore wore yellow marquisette with a matching net Juliet cap and Mrs. DuPeau wore green marquisette with a matching net cap. All attendants carried spring flowers.
  A reception followed the ceremony in the Fort Schuyler Club after which the couple left for a trip to Cape Cod and Boston.
  The bride is a graduate of Syracuse University, Boston School of Occupational Therapy and Tuffts College. The bridegroom a veteran of three years service in the Navy is a graduate of Utica College and St. Lawrence University.
  Out-of-rown guests attended from Canada, Florida, Bronxville, New York, Detroit and Cranford, N.J.

  Elizabeth Weaver Hull
  Elizabeth Weaver Hull, 92, 96 Twin Lakes Drive, Gettysburg, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
  She was born Oct. 5, 1914 in West Schulyer, N.Y., the daughter of the late Van R. and Edith Budlong Weaver. Her husband of 56 years Kenneth P. Hull, Sr., died in 1996.
   Mrs. Hull had been a member of Trinity United Church of Christ for 50 years and had served for a time as a Sunday School teacher. She was a 1937 graduate of Gettysburg College and in 1938 completed her Masters degree in Library Science from Syracuse University. From 1938 until 1943 she was librarian for Gettysburg High School. Mrs. Hull was a member of the Gettysburg Chapter of DAR and Eastern Star. She was also an advisor to the Delta Gamma Sorority at Gettysburg College. For the past 78 years, including 2007, Mrs. Hull has spent her summers in the Adirondack Mountains with her family.
   Mrs. Hull is survived by a son, Kenneth P. Hull, Jr. and his wife Penny of Swarthmore, Pa., a daughter, Elizabeth Hull Holloway of Gettysburg, Pa., five grandchildren; Kate Warthen Holloway and her partner Chris Keller of Wilmington, Del., Beth Holloway Conger and her husband Tracy of Lebanon, Ohio, Kenneth P. Hull, III and his wife Mary of Collegeville, Pa., Charles Kingsley Hull and his wife Beth of Westtown, Pa., Bradford Kane Hull and his wife Dianne of Haverford, Pa., six grandchildren; Kelsey, Katie, Brent, Aubrey, Preston, Charlotte, a sister-in-law, Louise Hull of Gettysburg, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Weaver.
   A Memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. from Trinity United Church of Christ, High Street, Gettysburg, with the Rev. Roy Fauth officiating. A private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Memorials can be made to Trinity UCC, 60 E.   C. Bruce Weaver, 55, proprietor of Weaver's Wines and Liquors at 18 West Park Row for more than 30 years until his recent retirement, died on May 21 in Faxton Hospital.
   A Memorial Mass was held on Tuesday from St. Mary's Church, Clinton, with burial in the parish cemetery.
   In death, Weaver was remember (sic) by many local merchants as a "good neighbor, a sharp and knowledgeable businessman and a staunch family man."
   Born in Utica on Nov. 2, 1937, he was the son of Clarence and Blanche Contois Weaver.
   A life-long resident of Clinton, Weaver graduated from Clinton High School and Norwich University, Norwich, Vt.
   He married the former Judy Regetz in St. Mary's Church in 1958. The couple lived on Bristol Road.
   Village Trustee Jack Lane, owner of the Clinton Shoe Center, said Weaver was "about the best next door neighbor a merchant could have."

  Judith Lee Weaver, 58, of Clinton, and formerly of Bristol Road, died on June 4,1998, at her home.
   She was bom in Utica on Oct. 27, 1939, the daughter of Edward and Jane Cackett Regetz.
   She graduated from Clinton Schools, and married C. Bruce Weaver at St. Mary's Church, Clinton, in 1958. He died in 1993.
   She was a member of St. Mary's Church and Our Lady of Angels Association.
   Surviving are her father; one daughter and son-in-law, Kyle and Matthew Crane, Clinton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Nicholas Weaver, Litchfield, and Andrew and Sue Weaver, Camillus; and eight grandchildren.
   A Memorial Mass was held on Monday from St. Mary's Church, with burial in the parish cemetery.

  MARCY - P. William Bellinger, 65, of Fox Road, died today in Faxton Hospital andter a long illness.
  Mr. bellinger was born in Westmorland and attended schools there. He had lived in Vernon and had operated a farm here for the past 10 years.
  He was a member of Scuoondoe (?) Lodge of Masons, Vernon.
  His first wife, Mrs. Beatrice Nieman Bellinger, died in 1956. In 1958 in Marcy, he married Bernice Lloyd.
  Besides his wife, he leaves a saughter, Mrs. Jack (Betty) Peal of Vernon; two sons, Harold of Fulton and Robert of Vernon; a brother Myron of Utica.
  The funeral will be at 1 Thursday from the J. W. Dimbleby Funeral Home, Whitesboro, with the Rev. Richard P. Stitt of Mount Vernon, officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park.
  Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow and Wednesday.

  VERNON - Mrs. P. William Bellinger, 55, died in Faxton Hospital, Utica, this morning after an illness of several weeks.
  The former Beartrice M. Nieman, she was born May 8, 1902, in Holland Patent, the daughter of Charles L. and Frederica Hoffman. She came to Vernon in 1917 and resided with her sister, Mrs. Charles W. Kitson, She attended Vernon High School from which she was graduated in 1921. She also attended the Excelsior Business College, Utiam graduating in 1922.
  She was married to Mr. Bellinger on Oct. 24, by the Rev. Frank D. Walter, Vernon Center.
  Mrs. Bellinger was a member of the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church and its Guild, and a bmember of Iula Rebekah Lodge.
  She is survived by her husband; two sons, Harold, VanHornesville, and Robert at home; one daughter, Mrs. Jack Peal, Vernon; two grandchildren, Scott and Robin Peal; three sisters, Mrs. Kitson, Vernon; Mrs. William Williams, Westernville, and Mrs. Henry Boak, Santa Ana, Calif., two brothers, Otto Nieman, Rome, and Wesley Nieman, Buffalo.

   Mrs. Helen Griffin, of Rome, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jack Peal, Vernon, and Miss Glenice Lloyd, Whitesboro, niece of the bride. The Misses Leslie and Lorie Jo Lloyd, Clinton, nieces of the bride, were flowergirls.
   Myron Bellinger, New Hartford, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Jack Peal and H. Eugene Butler, both of Vernon, ushered. Kevin Tanzillo, Detroit. Mich., nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
   The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Norman Lloyd. She wore a ballerina gown of white Chantilly lace over blue taffeta, and a shoulder length veil caught to a pale blue crown. The bride carried white and pink carnations.
  A reception followed in the home of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Bellinger will reside on Fox Rd., Marcy. The bride, a graduate of Faxton Hospital School of Nursing, is chief nurse at Rome State Hospital. Mr. Bellinger operates the Bellinger Farms, Vernon.

  Holland Patent, Oct. 7 — A charming autumn wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Griffith, Saturday evening when their daughter, Rachael A., became the bride of Myron A. Bellinger of Westmoreland. The bridal couple were attended by Miss Priscilla S. Jones of Remsen, as maid of honor and Howard Kessler at beat man. They entered the parlor to Lohengrin wedding march played by Miss Emily Peabody and stood in a bower of autumn leaves and straw flowers. Where Rev. L. G. Colson, the bride's pastor performed the wedding ceremony, using the double ring service. Robert Griffith of Little Falls, nephew of the bride and Robert Sweeting of Westmoreland, cousin of the groom, were ribbon bearers, and little Miss Arlene Evans of Clark Mills was the flower girl.
   The bride wore a gown of autumn brown with bandeau of gold leaves and carried yellow roses, her maid wore robin's egg blue silk crepe with bandeau of green leaves and carried pink and white asters.
   A wedding supper was served, after which the young eouple left for a trip through western New York. They will reside in Utica.
   The bride is a graduate of the Homeopathic Training school for nurses and the groom of the Westmoreland High school.
   About 70 guests were present from Utica, Rome, Remsen, Vernon, Westmoreland, Knoxboro, Clark Mills, Little Falls, Oneida Castle and Westernville.

 - Wedding Announcement (Evening Recorder, Amsterdam, NY, Tuesday, July 3, 1962)
  Miss Monnie Dee Glenar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald H. Glenar, 2 Storrie St., became the bride of George Joseph Kane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph S. Kane, 63 Mathias Ave., Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Stanislaus' Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Stanislaus M. Gospodarek officiated.
  Bouquets of white gladioli and pompons formed the altar decorations and white satin bows marked the family pews. The center aisle was carpeted with a white runner.
  Mrs. Leah Cionek sang "Ave Maria", accompanied by Anthony Grzegorzewski, organist, who played the traditional wedding marches.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace designed with a bateau neckline trimmed with sequins and pearls, fitted bodice and bouffant skirt accented with self roses and a chapel train. Her headpiece of a corded tulle pillbox held in place a four-tiered illusion veil and she carried a dewdrop arrangement of stephanotis centered with a white orchid.
  The matron of honor was Mrs. Raymond Rockwell, Lindenhurst, L.I., cousin of the bride, who was gowned in maize satin-faced organza and wore a matching headpiece with a short veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations centered with yellow roses.
  The bridesmaids, Miss Carol Ann Zrodowski, Amsterdam, cousin of the bridegroom, and Miss Corinne Goldstein, New Hyde Park, were attired in maize organza sheer with matching headpieces and carried white carnations and yellow roses.
  John DeLuca was best man. Serving as ushers were the bride's brother, Wayne Glenar, Fort Knox, Ky., and Clyde Hess Jr., Glens Falls, cousin of the bridegroom.
  The mother of the bride wore a fern green sheath, white accessories and a corsage of white cymbidiums. The bridegroom's mother chose a turquoise chiffon sheath and matching accessories and also wore a white cymbidium corsage.

  Prayer services were held at the Lawrence Funeral home on Friday afternoon for Hobert Emerson Heyer, 62, a member of the U S Weather Bureau service for 40 years and in charge of the station on St Lawrence university campus for the last 20 years, who died on Wednesday evening, May 10 after a short period of failing health. On Saturday funeral services and burial took place at Northfield. Vt.
  Mr Heyer was bom at Enosburg, Vt. Dec 19 1887, the son of Frank Hobert and Jessie Gilbert Heyer His early education was received in the rural district schools and in 1905 he was graduated from the high school at Enosburg Falls. Upon graduating from Norwich university in 1909, he sought a government appointment in the Weather Bureau service. While waiting for the appointment, he served as a reporter on Vermont newspapers.
  During his 40 years of service with the weather bureau which he entered in May, 1910, Mr Heyer. had only four assignments. He was first stationed in Washington D C. In December 1910 he was assigned to Providence R I. as an assistant. In July 1923. he became the official in charge of the Grand Haven, Mich., station, and fiom there came to Canton in 1929 as the successor of the late John S. Hazen.
  On May 10th. 1910, Mr Heyer married Miss Florence Hedges at Montpelier, Vt. Two children were born, only one of whom a son, Frank Heyer, of Schenectady, survives, as does the widow. The other child died in infancy. Mr and Mrs. Heyer became members of the Congregational church in Providence, R I, but during their residence in Canton attended the First Prsebyterian church.
  Mr Heyer was a quiet man devoted to the service, his home and family. He was a great reader and a student of historical subjects. He is credited with having been one of two local persons ever to have read completely the books on Jesuit relations which are to be found on the shelves of the local libraries.
  Last summer, accompanied by Mrs Heyer, he made a trip to Fn Ste. Marie, near Midland, Ont. in order to attend the 300th anniversary of the Huran Mission. Among his other interests were natural history and philately. He made a study of trees, shrubs, wild flowers and birds. Over a period of years he had built a better than average collection of the stamps of Canada.
  Mr Heyer was the fifth incumbent to fill the post as official in charge of the Weather Bureau statlon here. Established in 1906 dining the administiation of the late President Almon Gunnison of St. Lawrence, it was first located in Carnegie science hall and weather broadcasts to the immediate locality were made by means of weather flags flown daily from the flagstaffs on top of Carnegie hall.
  The first official assigned to the Canton station was Merton L. Fuller (1906-1911). It was dining his term that the official received the titular designation of forecaster. The next to be in charge was John K Hopper (1911-1913), Walter Benjamin Hare (1913-1914) and John S Hazen (1914-1929).
