 - Wedding Announcement (Utica Daily Press, NY, Monday, July 3, 1916)
  Little Falls, July 2 - Yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at the Methodist parsonage Miss Edna May Gross, daughter of Officer and Mrs. C. F. Gross, of West Main street, became the bride of Ernest Gay of Herkimer. The ceremony was performed by Rev. T. Howard Jones and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives of the couple. The attendants were Miss Mayme Shults and Fremont Gross, brother of the bride. The bride was attired in a neat suit of tan and a white picture hat. Her maid was attractively attired in a check suit with a blue picture hat. The bride presented her maid with a vanity case while the grooms gift to the best man was a gold stick pin.
  After the ceremony a wedding reception was given at the home of the bride, after which they departed for and eastern wedding journey, which will include Niagra Falls ande other points of interest. On their return July 15 the will be at their home in their newly furnished residence on Park Avenue.
  The bride is a highly esteemed lady of this city an has a wide circle of friends. ... Herkimer and is employed in the Remington plat at Ilion. The wishes of their many friends are that the blessing of jo0y and happiness will prevail over them during their marrie dlife.

  SALISBURY CENTER - Mr. Gerald G. Near, 72, of 4 Plant Road, passed away Monday morning in Little Falls Hospital.
  He is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie Jennings, a son, Lowell Near of Dolgeville; a daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Nancy) Bailey of Springfield, Mass.; three brothers, Harvey and William Near, both of Dolgeville, Ernsed Near, Salisbury Center; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Alice) Hall of Dolgeville.
  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday from the Roberts Funeral Home, Dolgeville. Spring interment, Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Frineds may call today 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

  Harold was born in Denver in 1892 to William Ames Beck & Mertie Dale. He was raised in Denver. He had one older brother Claude George (1891-1972).
   He registered for the draft (WW1). His first job was working with his father at a cigar shop at 1433 Tremont.
  Next, he worked for the Denver Rio Grande Railroad in the Burnham shop where he stayed for his career.
  He married Reta E. Rawlings June 2, 1939 in Castle Rock, Co.


Melba Louree Fleming

  Melba L. Beck, 93, of Centennial, CO, passed away on Friday, March 20 in her home in Holly Creek Retirement Community in Centennial. She was born in Sidney, NE and moved to the Kansas City area with her family in 1965. She was a long-time member of Valley View United Methodist Church in Overland Park, KS.
  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Beck. Survivors include two daughters; Rhonda Mizeur of Castle Pines, CO and Kristi Turner of Kansas City, MO, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and brother; Kenneth Fleming of Omaha, NE.
  Services will be at Valley View United Methodist Church, 8412 W. 95th Street Overland Park, KS 66212 at 10:00 am, Friday March 27, 2015. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
   Memorial contributions may be made in Melba’s name to the Holly Creek Assistance Fund at Christian Living Communities, 7000 E. Belleview Ave. #150, Greenwood Village, Colorado 80111.
