Robert James Steinacker, 86, passed away at his home in Paradise, CA on June 11, 2011. He was the son of John and Gertrude Steinacker, and was born on September 19, 1924 in Park Falls, Wisconsin.
After graduation from high school Bob drove to Alaska, where he established a career as a crane operator; a career which allowed him to travel and work on construction projects throughout the state of Alaska. He was a dedicated and hard working professional and had a career which spanned over 50 years.
Robert married Edith Groves in 1954. They were married 48 years, spending many years in Alaska,, until they retired to Paradise in 1989.
He married Vesta Kidden in 2003, and they shared 8 ½ wonderful sunset years together, traveling and enjoying retirement for as long as Bob's health allowed.
Bob attended First Baptist Church of Paradise. Although a quiet and reserved man, Bob enjoyed visiting with friends, and was a very loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 8 years, Vesta Steinacker of Paradise; son, Scott Steinacker of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Janice Steinacker of Paradise; sister, Ruth Cleveland of Delavan, Wisconsin; brothers, Jack and Larry Steinacker of Park Falls, Wisconsin; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and Vesta's five children and their families.

LAVON ORLA SWANSON

Lavon Orla Swanson, 86, homemaker, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away on June 19, 2013 at Legacy Hospital/Salmon Creek in Vancouver, Washington. She was born in Windom, Minnesota to Ole and Mamie Gunderson and later graduated from Cumberland High School in Cumberland, Wisconsin.
Lavon's first job was as a bookkeeper before marrying Vernon Lenoy Swanson. She later worked for Mary Kay.
Lavon was a member of Manor Evangelical Church and Weight Watchers. She loved her coffee and flowers, bowling, baking and sewing, and was an avid reader.
Lavon is survived by her brother, Gene Gunderson (Rose); sons, Ron Swanson and James Swanson (Lori); daughters, Geraldine Roberts (Don), Sandra Rogers, Bonita Jefferies (Jerry) and Maryann Kay Swanson; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon and their infant daughter.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Northwood Park Cemetery, 16407 NE 15th Ave., Ridgefield, WA, with a visitation prior.

Mrs. Joan C. Baxter, Whitehall.
Mrs. Baxter, age 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior November 6, 2004. She was born August 8, 1930, in Muskegon. Her parents, William [Kring] and Dorothy (Carlson) Kring, preceded her in death.
On May 4, 1949, she married her husband and best friend, Dale Baxter, who preceded her in death in 1980. She had worked at Whitehall Public Schools for 33 years, retiring as a librarian. Mrs. Baxter was a member of Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church, where she sang in the choir for many years and was also a volunteer for International Aid.
FAMILY: Two children, Joseph (Janet) Baxter of Ludington and Marcia (Mark) White of Kentwood; 2 grandchildren, Joshua White and Andrew White; 2 sisters, Margaret (Thomas) Luncek of MN and Janet (Frank) Walker of FL; 2 brothers, Richard (Ruth) Kring and John (Carol) Kring, both of Whitehall; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Was held Thursday, November 11, 2004, at 11:00 AM, from Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church with the Rev. Dr. Terry A. Mattson officiating. Interment in Oakhurst Cemetery - Whitehall.

Ruth C. Kring, age 70, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, February 4, 2007.
Ruth C. Visger was born April 27, 1936 in Levering, MI to John Visger and Violet (Riddle) Visger and had been a Whitehall resident most of her adult life. Mrs. Kring worked for the Whitehall School System for 25 years before retiring in 1998. She was a life-time member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Whitehall, loved her family, church, and was a people person.
On March 23, 1956, she married Richard T. Kring in Laketon Twp. and he survived her along with 5 children, Marjorie (John) Dykema of Kalamazoo, Mark (Lori) Kring of Williamston, MI, Mike (Pam) Kring of Whitehall, Mitch (Helen) Kring of Allendale, Kathy (Tony) Lau of Naperville, IL; 19 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and sister, Joyce (Karl) Johnson of Muskegon.
Ruth C. Kring was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers.

Theodore M. Lawrence, Sr., a life resident of the North Creek area, died Nov. 5 in William Manson Nursing Home, Malone, after a long illness.
Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Blanche (Charlesbois) Lawrenc eof Newcomb; seven sons, Theodore Lawrence, Jr. and Francis Lawrence, both of North Creek, William Lawrence of North River, Frank Lawrence of Hudson Falls, Robert Lawrence of Ganesvoort, George Lawrence of Colorado and John Lawrence of Plattsburgh; three daughters, Mrs. Augustus (Ruth) Whible St. of Lake Luzerne, Mrs. Donald (Blanche) Perrin of North Bangor and Mrs William (Helen) Gregory Sr. of Newcomb; 39 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private services were held Sunday at 6the Swain Funeral Home by the Rev. Joseph Babcock, pastor of the North Creek-North River United Methodist Church. Interment was in Bates Cemetery, Johnsburg.

The funeral for Viola M. Strader, 76, of 1100 Hilltop Towers, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Monsignor Robert J. McCarthy, pastor of Holy Family Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery.
Mrs. Strader died Wednesday evening in Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Paul F. Strader, 68, of Dodge Ave., Sackets Harbor, formerly of Watertown died at 2:55 Tuesday afternoon in the Madonna Home of the Mercy Hospital, where, he had been a patient since Sept. 29.
Previously, he was a patient in the Mercy Hospital. Earlier, he was a patient at the Sefton Adult Home, 950 W. Main St., having entered two years ago.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Viola Charlebois Strader. 206 Franklin St.; eight children, Mrs. Edward W. (Jean A.) Carroll and Mrs. Rosanna Goutremout, Watertown, Paul F. Strader, Jr., Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Ray (June M) Timmerman, Sackets Harbor, Jack Strader, Dexter, John Strader, Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Leon (Mary Jane) Wood. Houston, Tex., and Mrs. William (Diana) Theriault, Dana Point, Calif., and 24 grandchildren.
His brother, Henry A. Strader, died in Atlanta, Ga., in May, 1969.
Mr. Strader was born in Watertown Aug. 19, 1903, a son of the late Silas A. and Dora L. Forrester Strader. Most of his life was spent in Watertown, where he was once an employe of the New York Air Brake Co. plant, a clerk at the Mill Street Red & White Store and then, for 25 years until his retirement the Black Clawson. Co., Inc., plant. He retired as a crane operator at the age of 62.
He moved .to Sakets Harbor about seven years ago. He married Miss Viola Charlebois of this city in this city in June, 1928.

Edgar O. Spaven, pastor of the church, performed the ceremony. The couple was unattended. Mrs. Strader, who is only 15 years of age, had the consent of her parents to the marriage. Mr. Strader, who is 22, is a clerk in a grocery store.

Clifton E. Charlebois
Clifton E. Charlebois, 87, formerly of 1049 Huntington St., died Sunday at Samaritan Keep Home, where he had resided since August 2006.
Mr. Charlebois worked in the foundry at New York Air Brake Co., retiring after more than 40 years of service.
Born Aug. 15, 1921, in Theresa, son of Frank and Pearl Kring Charlebois, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and later joined the Army in May 1944. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific theater with Battery D, 164th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion, and was honorably discharged in April 1946.
He married Hannah J. Curry on Aug. 9, 1941, in Dexter. She died April 8, 1992.
He was a member of the Foundry Moulders Union and was an avid stock car racing fan.
Surviving are two sons, Clifton R., Watertown, and LaMont E., Middletown, Conn.; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Six sisters died before him.
A graveside service will be at the family's convenience in North Watertown Cemetery.
