Miss Elsie Kring, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor, and wore a dress of yellow crystallette over taffeta, a matching hat and a corsage of white and green orchids.
Thomas Tews, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man.
Only members of the family attended the ceremony which was followed by a reception for 60 guests in the Unitarian Meeting House hearth room.
The bride is a 1949 graduate of St. Lawrence university and holds a doctor of philosophy degree from the University of Wisconsin, where she is a biochemist in the medical school.
The bridegroom was graduated in 1950 from the University of Wisconsin and is employed by the Madison postoffice.
The couple will live in Madison.

Hammond - the funeral for William Kring Nelson, 83, of Rochester, formerly of Hammond was July 4 at the Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett L. Waite pastor of the Hammond Presbyterian Chhurch, officiating. Burial was in the Cedars Cemetery in the Town of Hammond.
Mr. Nelson died July 1 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Surviving are his widow Audry; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Binion of Rochester; one sister, Mrs. Isabel McNamera of Syracuse; two grandchildren; three nephews, and several cousins.
Mr. Nelson was born in Syracuse, Oct. 9, 1893, the son of Seymour and emma Kring Nelson, and graduated from Schencetady schools.
He married Audrey Kring, June 14, 1915 in Hammond with the now, late Rev. Dr. William Ferguson officationg.
Mr. Nelson was employed by the Eastman Kodak Co., retiring several years ago.
He was a member of the Ogdensburg Lodge 128 F & AM and the Hammond Presbyterian Church.

Floyd Smith, 79, died Tuesday morning at his home, 320 W, State Street, Johnstown.
He was born June 3, 1882, in Lassellsville, son of Louis and Elizabeth Kring Smith. He spent a large part of his life in the vicinity where he followed his occupation of blacksmith for 28 years, moving to Johnstown 32 years ago.

Raymond Kring, 84, of 131 Kingsboro avenue, Gloversville, was pronounced dead on arrival Monday evening at Nathan Littauer Hospital after having been stricken in Loblaw's parking lot. He had been in failing health for two years.
Born in Lassellsville on Oct. 4, 1889, he was the son of Albert and Jane Smith Kring. He attended St. Johnsville and Gloversville schools and also attended the New\ England Conservatory of Music, Boston. On June 5, 1929, he was married to Cecile Causse, who died Aug. 1967.
He was a World War I veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Anita McPhail, Gloversville; two granddaughters and several cousins.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 9 a m. from the Walrath and Bushouer Funeral Home, Gloversville. Interment was made in Lassellsville Cemetery

Mrs. Cecile C Kring, 69, of 131 Kingston Avenue, retired owner and operator of the Ideal Kiddie Shop, 87 North Main Street, died at 11 last night at a Utica hospital, where she had been a patient the past month. She had been in failing health the past year.
She was born Nov. 22, 1897, in Millau, France, the daughter of Henri and Victoria Causse. She came to this country at the age of 5 and resided in Johnstown until 1929 when she moved to Gloversville.
Mrs. Kring opened the Kiddie Shop in Johnstown about 40 years ago, moving the business to Gloversville about 1930. She sold the shop in Gloversville about eight years ago.
Mrs. Kring was a member of the Sacred Heart Church.
Survivors are her husband, Raymond Kring of Gloversville; one daughter, Mrs. Anita Mac Phail of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Henri Causse of Johnstown; two grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Woodrow "Woodie" Clark, 89, passed away at 11:50 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2007, at Medicalodge South of Pittsburg.
He was born July 15, 1918, in Merkel, Texas, to John Houston and Anna May (West) Clark. He attended Union Ridge School in Merkel and graduated from Merkel High School.
Mr. Clark was united in marriage to Alice M. Smith on October 1, 1949, in Springfield, MO. She preceded him in death on May 4, 1991.
Following their marriage Mr. Clark worked construction until 1955 when they then moved to their farm southeast of Girard. He continued to reside there until he moved to assisted living in Girard.
Mr. Clark served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He attended the Beulah Community Church and through the years served as Sunday School Superintendent, Treasurer of the Church Board, and Sunday School Teacher. He also held membership in the V.F.W. and was a board member of Water District #4.
He is survived by one brother, John Houston Clark, Jr., of Merkel, Texas, one sister, Patsy McDuff, of Merkel, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Willie Joe Clark and Bernard Clark and one sister, Bernice Jones.
Services for Mr. Clark will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2007, at the Brenner Mortuary, with Reverend Murray Balk of the Beulah Community church officiating. Burial will follow in the Girard City Cemetery, Girard, KS. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2007, at the Brenner Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the Beulah Community Church. These may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg.

Mrs. Jennie Dempster Sponable Weaver, 84, widow of George B Weaver, died early Sunday morning in the Fort Plain Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 13, 1872, in the Sheffield House in Lassellsville, daughter of the late Nathanand Mary Ellen Dempster Sponable.
From both families she was descended from pioneer stock, being a great granddaughter of the Rev. James Dempster, who came to Philadelphia in 1775 as a surgical missionary. He was the son of a Scottish nobleman who renounced his title and inheritance to work with John Wesley, the founder of Methodism.
She attended schools in Lassellsville and Johnstown, and graduated from St. Johnsville High School in the class of 1891 Following this she attended the Albany Normal School.
For 36 years she taught in schools in the St. Johnsville area, 17 of those years in Krings Bush.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mamie C. Schiemer, Albany; one son, J. Dempster Weaver of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Hester W. Leonard, North Division street, St. Johnsville; four grandchildren, Mrs Ethel Manclow of Azusa, Calif., Mrs. Walter C. Bowman and Mrs. Hester Shumway, St. Johnsville. and George D. Leonard, Little Falls; nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association.
The funeral was held Wednesday at 2 o'clock at the Smith Funeral Home, St. Johnsville, with the Rev. John Pressey, pstor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was made in Prospect View Cemetery.

St. Johnsville, July 3 - After an illness of one year, George Weaver, a well known and highly esteemed resident of St. Johnsville died Saturday afternoon at his house at teh age of 54 years.
Mr. Weaver was born at Youkers Bush, but most of his life had been spent in St. Johnsville, where he was in the business of contracting and building. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of this village. The surviving relatives are his wife, one daughter, Miss Hester Weaver; one son, Dempster Weaver; three sisters, Mrs. Edwin Flanders of Youker's Bush ----- one Brother, Sheldon Weaver of this village.

James Dempster Weaver, 71, of 13 North Division street, St. Johnsville, died last Sunday afternoon in Little Falls Hospital, where he had been a patient since Dec. 17.
Born in St . Johnsville on Nov. 19, 1902 he was the son of George and Jennie Sponable Weaver. He was married to May Hodge on May 6,1967, who survives. He attended St. Johnsville Schools and completed the last two years of his high school education in Cazenovia Seminary.
He resided for many years in Chicago, where he was employed in the maintenance department of the Edgewater Beach Apartments. Upon retiring, he returned to St. Johnsville where he had lived for many years.
He was a member of the St. Johnsville United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to his widow are nieces, a nephew, and cousins.
A private prayer service was held Friday evening for the family at the Capece Funeral Home, St. Johnsville, with the Rev. William Davis, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be made in the spring in the St. Johnsville, Cemetery.

Ten thousen Easter lilies witnessed the ceremony; the thousand spectators who came to witness it were an hour late, for the couple were an hour before the ceremony was scheduled.
