 - Obituary (Find A Grave)
  Grant Staats Field, Mount Caramel, Rout Two, died suddenly this morning of a heart attack. His death occured at the Mayne Motor company where he had been employed as an automobile salesman for only a few days, He was stricken in a was room and was prouncounced dead when found and a physician summoned.
  Verdict of a coroners jury at an inquest conducted by Coroner T. R. Young was that death was due to coronary thrombosis. the jury was composed of Grover Huckleberry, Charles L. Miller, Charles A. Miller, Max Kennard, Sereno White and Cecil Canedy.
  The body was removed to the Roy D. Short Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.
  Mr. Field was a native of Rochester, N. Y., where he was born on March 14, 1888, a son of Herbert S. Field and Lila Van Woert Field. At death he was aged 53 years, 4 month and 17 days. He was married to Maude Champlin in New York City on August 3, 1914. she survves him with one son Herbert G. Field, Athens Pa., and one daughter, Mrs. James Dixon, Grayville, Ill.

 - Wedding Announcement (The Scranton Truth, Pennsylvania, Friday, January 22, 1909)
  Grant S. Field, a salesman for the Artesian Milling company, of 327 Wheeler avenue, and Miss Margaret Marren, of this city, were in Cleveland, Ohio, on Tuesday. Last week, miss Marren received an invitation to spend the week-end with friends in Cleveland, and went there on Saturday. The visit had been planned as a surprise by Mr. Field for his bride-to-be and her friends in Cleveland were all in the secret. The wedding day had already been set for Tuesday, and when the disclosure was made to Miss Marren she consented, and the ceremony was performed.
   It was witnessed by a large number of friends of the couple, who joined in a reception afterward. Mr. and Mrs. Field have not yet decided if they will live in this city or in Cleveland, where the milling company has a large plant.

  Avoca - Announcements have been received here of the marriage of Miss Margaret Taggart, daughter of Mrs, A, Taggart of Toronto, and W. Harold Welzmiller, son of Henry W. Welzmiller, of Niagara Falls, N. Y. The wedding took place Oct. 30 in Toronto, where they will make their home. Mr. Welzmiller is well known in Avoca, where he was born and spent his early life.

 - Obituary (Democrat and Chronicle, Rochester, NY, Wednesday, October 2, 1963)
  AVOVCA - Mrs. Mildred Bartlett Millerm wife of Durward H. Miller, died yesterday (Oct. 1, 1963) in the Ira Davenport, Memorial Hospital in Bath after a long illness.
  She was born in Avoca, the daughter of William and Nora Williamson Bartlett and lived her entire life here. For 20 years, she was operating agent for the NY. Telephone Co. in Avoca and for last 15 years she had been associated with  her husband in the grocery business.
  Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Keeney; a son, John B. Miller of Avoca; three sisters, Mrs. Meade H. Ostrander of Avoca, Mrs. Richard O. Dayton of Park Ridge, N.J., Mrs. William Sweeney of Penn Yan; a brother, Morris H. Bartlett of Gang Mills; and eight grandchildren.
 The body is at the Shephard Van Patton Funeral Homne in Avoca where visiting hours will be held today from 2 to 5 and; 7 to 9 p.m. From where private funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gordon D Coover, of the Baptist Church officiating.
  Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport.
  Donations may be made to Roswell Park Memorial Institute Patients Welfare Fund. Buffalo.
