Donald L. countryman, 53, of 46 Wright Ave., died earyl Saturday morning at a local hospital after a brief illness.
He was a member of First Methodist Church, the Eagles Club, and the St. Johns Club.
Mr. Countryman was born in Canajohary, N.Y., April 8, 1911, the son of Fayette and Caroline (Lepper) Countryman.
He leaves his wife, Dot; two daughters, Mrs. ronald (Gwenn) Poulin of Burlington and Mrs. Thomas (Noreen) Osicky of Vineland N. J.; his mother Mrs. Caroline Flanders of Dolgeville, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. John Nemyj of Dolgeville; two grandchildren and one niece.

Dot LaPointe, 78, of 1200 North Ave. died Wednesday, Aug. 26, in Ethan Allen Residence following a long illness.
She was born in Oneida, N.Y., Feb. 7, 1914, the daughte rof Lowell and Emily (Young) Bard. She was married in 1936 to Donald Countryman, who predeceased her in 1964. She was remarried in 1969 to Eli Lapointe, who predeceassed her in 1989.
Shge is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Gwenn and Ronald Poulin of Burlington and Noreen and Thomas Osicky of Maryland, four grandchildren, Wade Poulin, Wendy Seard, Donald Osicky and his wife Lisa, And Elizabeth Brady and her husband, Kevin; one great-grandson, Tyler Poulin, and a niece, Fay Montross of Burlington. She was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas Osicky Jr. earlier this year.

Elmer Heldt, former Amsterdam resident, died Oct. 27 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Coral Gables, Fla. He had been in ill health for several years.
Born in Amsterdam, Mr. Heldt lived in this city and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church until he left to serve in World War II. After the war he made his home in Miami and from that time was frequently a patient in the veterans' hospital.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Heldt LaGrange, Schenectady; one grandson. Andrew Werner, a student at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania; one sister, Miss Anna G. Heldt, Amsterdam; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service with military honors was held this morning in Memorial Park Cemetery, Miami.
