Thelma Mary Dolch
Thelma Mary Dolch, 83, of St. Augustine, died Aug. 7, 2007, at the St. Augustine Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Dolch was a native of Manchester, England and had resided in St. Augustine. Mrs. Dolch was a seamstress and she served in the British Army. She was of the Episcopalian faith.

Hildegarde Bader
Hildegarde Louise Youker Bader, 95, of Cape Girardeau was born Sept. 3, 1913, in Dolgeville, N.Y., daughter of the late Fancher Lee and Ann Horrocks Youker. She was a descendant of the prominent Horrocks family of Herkimer, N.Y.
She was educated in the Dolgeville Public Schools and was graduated from New York State Institute of Teaching in 1933. She taught in rural schools in Central New York State and Southeast Missouri, and resided in Caruthersville, Mo., before moving to Cape Girardeau in 1947.
Hildegarde's early employment was with Boy Scouts of America and the United States Army and Air Force. In 1954 she began her career in radio and television with Hirsch Broadcast Co. She retired in 1998 after 44 years as program and public affairs coordinator. The board room on the third floor of the KFVS12 building is named in her honor.
Hildegarde served in various capacities in the following local organizations: American Heart Association, Parent Teachers Association, Continuing Education Committee for the extension services, Cape Girardeau Business and Professional Women serving as president and director.
Survivors include two daughters, Dixie Friscia Banks and husband William T. Banks of Bedford, N.Y., Judith Bader Jones and husband Fowler C. Jones of Fairway, Kan.; three grandchildren, Anne Friscia of Santa Cruz, Calif., Christopher Edwards of Mission, Kan., Fowler C. Jones III and wife Sue of Overland Park, Kan.; two great-grandchildren, Skyler Jones and Leah Jones of Overland Park; and a nephew, William Bendl of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church or St. James AME Church.

Esther M. Kempinski
CORNING | Esther M. Kempinski, 79, of 101 Columbia St., Dayspring Apts., formerly of 18 Grant St., Avoca, died unexpectedly Saturday (Nov. 8, 2003) at her home.
Born in the town of Wheeler on Aug. 20, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Florence Saltsman Tadder. On Feb. 26, 1946, she was married in Avoca to Zygmunt M. Kempinski, who predeceased her on Dec. 3, 1986, after 40 years of marriage.
A resident of Avoca for most of her life and a graduate of Avoca High School, Esther has resided in Corning since 1998.
She and her late husband owned and operated the former E & Z Variety Store in Avoca until 1984.
Esther loved to volunteer and was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program since 1987. She served as a volunteer in the office of Steuben Churchpeople Against Poverty, Inc., (SCAP) and with Home Delivered Meals once a week delivering 12 different meals to eight different locations. She also assisted with bingo games once a week at the Bath Veterans Administration Medical Center.
A member of the Avoca Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Bath Order of the Amaranths, she was a past president of the Senior Citizens of Avoca.
Esther enjoyed hobbies and crafts such as woodshop and ceramics that she worked on at the Avoca and Cohocton schools. She also baked bread, crocheted and caned chairs.
Her family includes her three daughters, Marian (Larry) Ketchum of Painted Post, Carolyn Hausknecht of Ulysses, Pa. and Edith Kempinski of Greer, SC; her four grandchildren, Jason and Zachary Ketchum, Elizabeth Hausknecht and Jesse Taylor; her brother, Arthur (May) Tadder of Avoca; also her nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Esther was predeceased by her brother Warren Tadder and his wife, Joyce.
Calling hours are from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral and committal service will be held following calling hours at 4 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Robert Ketchum officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Avoca.
Those wishing may contribute in Esther's memory to the Avoca Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
