  Ruth H. (Hoch) Lindsay, 99, of Middle Branch Road, widow of Joseph E., passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. Prior to entering the hospital, Mrs. Lindsay was a resident at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville.
  Ruth was born in Rochester, NY, on August 10, 1912, a daughter of Paul and Emma Ortman Hoch. She grew up in Old Forge, where she completed her education at Town of Webb High School. On June 26, 1932, Ruth was united in marriage with Joseph E. Lindsay, and after that the couple lived in Old Forge. Mr. Lindsay, an Adirondack Logger and area golf course constructor, died on January 20, 1991.
   For many years Mrs. Lindsay was employed as a telephone operator at General Telephone Co. of Old Forge. Later she was employed for 25 years as a clerk at George's Liquor Store, Old Forge.
  Mrs. Lindsay was a member of St. Bartholomew's Church, Old Forge, the Old Forge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and she greatly enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
  Ruth is survived by two daughters, Judy (John) Chapman, Rocksprings, WY and Myrna L. Hall, (Wilfred Hall, deceased,) Old Forge; seven grandchildren, Joan Tormey and husband, Tony, Susan Beckingham, Scott L. Hall and friend, Kimberly, Dale Anne Jones and husband, Peter, Beth Chapman Smith and husband, Fred, Jenifer Lloyd and husband, Michael, David Chapman and wife, Cheryl, twelve great grandchildren, Karl Tormey and wife, Nia, Jeffery Beckingham and wife, Tara, Shane Beckingham and friend, Jenifer, Whitney Beckingham and friend, David, Audrey, Lydia and Allison Jones, Maura, Asnica and Woody Lloyd, Blake Chapman and Lindsay Chapman, three great great grandchildren, Cole Tormey, Austin Beckingham and Devin DeRosia.
  A prayer service will be Thursday, June 7, at 9:15 at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams and Edmunds Funeral Home 128 Fern Ave. Old Forge, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated 10:00 A.M. at St. Bartholomew's Church, Old Forge. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Old Forge.

  OLD FORGE - A prominent 57-year-old partner in a golf course construction firm was found dead yesterday afternoon in a company truck on the log road near Thendara.
 John William Lindsay of Adam Street was discovered about 3 by two fishermen, Harry Johnson and Burton Tiffany, both of Webster, who were en route to the near-by Nick's Lake area.
  Dr. Ernest b. Emerson, Town of Webb Health Center physician, pronounced Mr. Lindsay dead at the scene. He said death was due to asphyxiation.
 Dr. Emerson was appointed coroner's physician by Gilbert Upright, a Herkimer County coroner.
  Today Coroner Upright gave suicide as the cause of death.

  Ilion - A wedding was solemnised Friday night at 8 when Miss Marion Lindsay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lindsay, Frankfort and Charles Whitney, Mohawk, were united in marriage at the parochial residence ot the Rev. William Halpin in Frankfort.
  The. attending couple was Mr. and Mrs. James R. Bowie, Ilion, sister and brother-in-law of the bride.
 The bride was attired in a shell-pink lace suit with white accessories and wore a corsage of lilies-of-the valley and white roses. Her attendant wore blue crepe with white accessories with a corsage of talisman roses.
  After the ceremony the bridal party returned to the home of the bride where supper was served. Later the couple departed on a wedding trip to Canada and Northern New York.
  The bride is. a graduate of Ilion High-School and the bridegroom oprates a bakery.
  Pre-nuptial events for the bride included showers given by Mrs. John Pugh, East Frankfort, and Mrs. James Bowie, Ilion.

  Miss Leona Maria Bammert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Bammert of 1664 Miller street, was married to Maxwell L. Bergner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loring Mergner of 1157 St. Vincent Street, Thursday morning in St. Francis de Sales Church.
  The Rev. John Newell performed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Pinkham were the attendants.
  The bride wore ginger brown crepe with matching accessories and carried a bouquet of Joanna Hill roses. Her matron of honor wore rust crepe and carried tallsmen roses.
  A wedding breakfast at the Sunnysie followed the ceremony. After a short trip the couple will reside at 1631 Seymour Avenue.
 The bridegroom is employed by the Berg-Powell Muffler Company. the bride is connected with the Kerk Guild.
  Pre-nuptual parties in honor of the bride were given by her mother, the bridegrooms mother and the Mesdames Frank Hartman, Charles Restle, Claude Winters, Virginia Henrich.

  Mr. Pandy, a graduate of Ohio State University, is currently working toward a master's degree at Ohio State University. He is also a Lieutenant in the Air Force, assigned to Wright Patterson A.F.B. Ohio.

  Amid the colors of the Potsdam Norma! and the Clarkson School of Technology, of whom the bride and bridegroom are graduating, Lloyd W. Greene of this city and Miss Bernice Edna Richardson, daughter of Mrs. Florence Richardson of Fort Covington were married at yhe First Baptist church in Fort Covingtonat 4 ---day afternoon by Rev. ----- of the First Baptist church of Clayton a friend of the wedding party.
  Dr. W. H. Leak of this city was best man and Miss Eva Hamilton of Fort Covington was maid of honor. The ushers were John Farquhar and Elmer Kelsey, both of Fort Covington. Mrs. Bladker played the wedding march and during the ceremony --son and Carman Grant and Miss ---, pupils of the bride, sang "Faithful and True".
  The church was decorated with gray and red, the colors of the Crene Institue of Music and the Potsdam Normal, of which the bride is a graduate.
  After the ceremony a wedding reception was held at the home of the bride, the house being decorated with green and gold, the colors of the Clarkson School of Technology, of which the bridegroom is a graduate.
  The bride was formerly director of music of the schools of Fort Covington and graduated from the Potsdam Normal in 1904, Mr. Greene is employed on the engineering force of the New York Central railroad in this city and graduated from the Clarkson School of Technology in 1905.
  The bridegroom's gift to the best man was a pair of gold cuff links and to the ushers stick pins. The gift to the maid of honor was a pearl brooch.
  After June 1, Mr. and Mrs. Greene will be at home in this city.

  The ceremony was performed at 1 p. m. in Trinity Moravian Church, the Rev. Ernest H. Sommerfield officiating.
  The attending couple were Miss Meribeth Smith and Harold E. White. Walter Hilson and William Heckett were ushers.
  The bride was dressed in an aqua satin gown with gold accessories and a matching sweetheart hat. She carried white roses and white baby mums.
  Her attendant wore a gown of dusty rose with silver accessories and carried a bouquet of talisman roses and baby mums.
  A wedding reception was held at the bride's home following which the couple left for a southern trip. Upon their return the will live at 1177 Kossuth.
  The bride is a graduater of Utica Free Academy and the St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing.
  The bridegroom is also a graduate of Utica Free Academy, is associaed with the Richardson, Boynton Co., Whitesboro.
  Guests were present from Los Angeles, Syracuse, Fiskdale, Mass. and Binghamton.

  Robert W. Jordan - Funeral services for Robert W. Jordan, graduate of Syracuse University, who died Monday in the Hospital of the Good Shepard, took place Wednesday afternoon at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Jordan, 404 Temple St. Due to the illness of his wife Lillian Hollis Jordan, services were not held at the home.
 - He died following an operation for appendicitus.

  After a brief illness and an operation, Robert W. Jordan, 28, died at the Hospital of the Good Shepherd, Syracuse, on Monday morning at 2:23 o'clock. His,wife, who survives, was Miss Lillian Hollis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hollis of Rome. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Jordan of Syracuse, also are living.
  Mr. Jordan was born In Syracuse, where he always lived. Graduated from Syracuse University in 1920, he was employed as a salesman. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, including Central City Commandery, Knights Templar.
  Mr. Jordan was a young man of pleasing personality, widely known in Rome as well as in Syracuse. His friends join with his family in grief at his death.
