EVANS MILLS -- Clinton A. Walts, 74, a lifelong resident of the Evans Mills area, died Tuesday afternoon in Mercy Hospital, Watertown, after five years of failing health.
The funeral of Mr. Walts will be 1 p.m. Friday at Frederick Brothers Funeral Home in Evans Mills, Rev. John Smiley of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the family plot in Evans Mills Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
He is survived by his widow, Alta Hickok Walts; a son, Allison of Evans Mills and a brother, Everett, alos of Evans Mills. Also surviving are five grandchildren, two great grandchildren,two nieces and one nephew.
Mr. Walts was born Oct. 16, 1898, a son of S. Orville and Edith Getman Walts. He was educated in the rural Evans Mills area.
As a young man, he worked as a cheesemaker for Baumert, and later for Borden's. He married Alta Hickok of Evans Mills on Sept. 10, 1919. In 1934, Mr. Walts purchased a farm on the Cemetery Road and has worked as a farmer since.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Evans Mills for over 50 years.

Clinton Walts and Alta Hickock were married Sept. 10, 1919 in the Stone Street Presbyterian Manse, Watertown, by Rev. W. J. Moody.
Their attendants were Mrs. Harry Cool, Ogdensburg and the late Earl Lortscher of Evans Mills.
They are the parents of a son and have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Their entire married life has been spent in or near Evans Mills. Thirty-five years ago they moved to their farm home.

A double wedding took place Wednesday evening at the Honeyville parsonage when the Rev. A. E. Lawrence, pastor of the First Baptist church united in marriage Miss Florence Standish and Earl Campbell and Miss Jessie Standish and Edward Gilbert, the young people arrived at the parsonage about 8 o'clock by auto.
The brides are sisters, daughters of Mrs. Eugene Greenley of Adams. Mr. Gilbert is a farmer of Smithville and Mrs. Gilbertt has been a successful teacher since her graduation from the Adams high school.
Mr. and Mrs. Campbell will make their home in Adams, where Mr. Campbell has a position in the Citizens National Bank.

OGDENSBURG — The funeral for. J. Meade Farden, 77, formefly of 517 Hamilton street, who died in Letchworth building at St. Lawrence state hospital at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, will be held at Lalonde - Briggs funeral home, 515 Caroline street, at 11 a.m. Saturday, with John R. Ramsey, rector, St. John's church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Ogdensburg cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening.
Mr. Farden was a patient at the hospital five years.
Surviving are two sons, Keith, Ogdensburg, and Maurice, Chateaugay; a brother. Roy, Heuvelton; three grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren.
Mr. Farden was born on March 18, 1891, at Lisbon, son of James and Harriet Bradley Farden. He married Lulu Getman in 1913. She died in 1945. He was with Paul Leroux 18 years and with J. F. Skelly, two, in the plumbing and heating business. Later he was a partner in the firm of Gamache and Murphy. He then operated his own firm, J. M. Farden and son. He retired years ago.

The following is a clipping from an Ogdensburg paper and will be interest to many here: "A very pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Getman, 44 Canal street at 7 o'clock Thursday evening, June 12, when their daughter, Lulu Belle, became the bride of James Meade Farden, Rev. C. F. Fields officiating. The young couple were attended by Miss Ethel Getman, sister of the bride, and Maurice Millard, friend of the groom. A wedding march was played by Prof. Valley. After the ceremony a very enjoyable supper was served to about forty guests. The gifts consisted of cut glass, linen, silverware, furniture and crockery. The young couple left at 6:20 Friday morning to visit friends and relatives of the bride in Lowvllle, Croghan and New Bremen. Most hearty congratulations are extended to the young couple by their many relatives and friends."

Canton High School is to lose one of its most popular and most competent teachers, for on Saturday at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs Charles Scurrah, Miss Frandes E. Scurrah became the bride of Robert L. Getman. Only a few Intimate friends and members of the immediate families were present. Rev. F. O. Scurrah. of Williamson, performed the ceremony.
Mrs. Getman has taught French in Canton High School ever since her graduation from St. Lawrence Uninversity in 1931. She came here as a graduate of Dean Academy. In college she joined the PI Beta Phi sorority.
Mr. Getman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Getman. Ogdensburg. He is a graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy and of Colgate University. He was instructor in history at Canton High School for two years, and is at present a member of the faculty of Ogdensburg Free Academy,
Mr. and Mrs. Getman will reside in Ogdensburg.

LOWVILLE - Peter K. Duflo, 24, of York, Pa., son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald L. Duflo, Shady Avenue, died Friday night in the Memorial Osteopathic Hospital in York, where he had been a patient since May 18.
He was injured while playing ball with friends near his apartment.
There will be a private funeral today at the Virkler Funeral Home with Rev. John Sharp, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Besides his parents he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Bessie L. Duflo, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Bernice Dunaway, both of Lowville; three aunts, Mrs. Allan (Gloria) Brown, Lowville, Miss Marion Dunaway, Albany, and Mrs. Eugene (Patricia) Pearson, Nashville,
Tenn.
He was born in Lowville June 18,1950, son of Donald L. and Janice Dunaway Duflo. He was graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School, attended Stoneybrook State University College and graduated
with honors from Canton ATC in 1974. Mr. Duflo was employed by the Packless Industries, York, Pa., as an industrial laboratory technician.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Contributions may be made to the Peter K. Duflo Memorial Fund, care of Robert McNeilly, Lowville Academy and Central School.
