JOHNSTOWN — Mrs. Marion E. Causse, 48, of 111 Glenwood avenue, died at 2:20 p.m. yesterday in the Johnstown Medical Hospital where she had been a patient five weeks. She had been in failing health the past three years.
BORN IN THE Town of Johnstown, Oct. 12, 1908, she had been a lifelong resident of the area and a city resident for the past 30 years.
Mrs. Causse was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, its Rosary society, the Catholic Daughters court and a past president of the Irving street school PTA.
Survivors include her husband Patrolman Henri Causse; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Benton of East Springfield, NY; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Roddy of Glens Falls and Mrs. Edward Snyder of Gloversville; five brothers, Nelson Frederick of Mohawk, Frank Frederick of Palatine Bridge, Harlan Frederick of Johnstown, William Frederick of Ilion and Raymond Frederick of Kansas City, Mo.; one grandson, several nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be conducted at 8:15 a.m. Friday in the A. G. Cole funeral home and at 9 a.m. a solemn Requiem high mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will be in Fern Dale Cemetery.

Miss Jeanne M. Skapik, daughter of Mrs. Henri Causse of 111 Glenwood Avenue and the late Stephen Skapik, became the bride of Carmen J. Pagano, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Pagano of 432 North Perry Street, at a candlelight ceremony at 8 Friday night at Immaculate Conception Church.
Orchid and white mums in large gold vases, palm arrangements and orchid and white candles in candelabra provided the setting for the double ring ceremony performed by Rev. John L. Mosconi, pastor. Selected wedding music was played by Mrs. Jennie Piazza, organist.
The bride was given in marriage by her stepfather, Henri Causse. She wore a gown of white whipped cream crepe chiffon featuring a halter-effect bodice, dolman sleeves and garlands of Venise lace encircling the raised waistline.
The bride's tiered veil of illusion was caught to a floral back headband. She carried two long-stemmed orchid-tinted
roses.
Mrs. Francis Coluccio of Albany, sister of the bride, was her matron of honor in a flowing gown of orchid crepe chiffon with jewel trim on the halter neckline and accenting the Empire waistline. Orchid hairpin bows were scattered throughout her hair. She carried two long-stemmed white roses.
Anthony Gatto of Syracuse was best man for his cousin. Ushers were John Rastetter of Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, and Dennis Fierle of Buffalo.
For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Causse wore a sleeveless Nile green chiffon gown of taffeta styled with a jewel trimmed neckline. The mother of the bridegroom wore a light blue polyester gown with long chiffon sleeves with venise lace edging the collar and cuffs and accenting the center seam.
Both mothers wore accessories in silver and wrist corsages of white roses.
A dinner reception for 150 was held at the White Holland House, Johnstown-Broadalbin Road, after the ceremony with Ralph Gardner and his orchestra providing music. Guests were from Albany, Syracuse, Buffalo, Utica, Ilion, Binghamton, Schenectady, New Rochelle, Johnstown, Gloversville and Amsterdam.
The bride was honored at a shower June 24 at the Shift Shirt arranged by several of her friends and relatives.
The bride is a 1969 graduate of Johnstown High School and a graduate of Fulton-Montgomery Community College. She was employed by the Capital City Taxi Corporation at Albany.
The bridegroom a 1968 graduate of Johnstown High School, recently received a degree in electrical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He has accepted a position as electrical engineer with the Carrier Air Conditioning Company in Rochester.
The couple will reside at 109 Endres Drive, Apartment 8, Syracuse.

Mrs. Mildred (Frederick) Cerrone, 46, of 301 Prindie Avenue, wife of Police Chief Joseph P Cerrone, died unexpectedly at 9 this morning at the family home, after a short illness.
She was born in the Town of Johnstown, April 13, 1910. daughter of Norman and Christine (Gross) Frederick, but had spent the greater part of her life in this city.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Rosary Society, also the Board of Education, and had been active in Community Chest, Red Cross and Parent-Teacher Association work.
Mrs. Cerrone waa a past president of the Johnstown P-TA Central Council, also the East State and Knox Junior High School units.
The survivors, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Jean Marie, Shirley Ann and Mary Christine, one son, Joseph H.; three sisters. Mrs, Henri Causse, Johnstown. Mrs. Clarence Roddy, Indiana, and Mrs. Henry E, Snyder, Gloversville; five brothers, Nelson Frederick of Ilion, Harlan G.

Johnstown's police chief, Joseph P Cerrone, and his wife, the former Mildred Frederick, completed 25 years of happily wedded life on Christmas Eve.
The occasion was celebrated Saturday night when they were tendered a surprise party at their home, 209 Prindle Avenue.
There were 30 or more relatives and friends present.
The evening wax spent in a social manner, a buffet luncheon was served and the guests of honor were presented with a gift of silver in keeping with the 25th anniversary.
They have four children Joseph Jr., 17, Jean 15, Shirley 13, and Mary Christina 1.

Mr. Clarence Joseph Roddy, age 93, formerly of Wilmington passed away Saturday, October 9, 2004, in Hollywood, Florida.
He was born in Johnston, NY on December 4, 1910, the son of the late James and Mariah Roddy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Roddy in 1989, they were married on October 10, 1940.
Mr. Roddy graduated from Pratt Institute in New York City with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was affiliated with General Electric his entire career and retiring at the Nuclear Fuels Division here in Wilmington.
Surviving are three sons, Edward Joseph Roddy of Wilmington, Delaware, Clarence Thomas Roddy of Denver, North Carolina and Christopher James Roddy of Weston, Florida; six grandchildren Sonja Cicconi, Michael Roddy, Tracy Roddy, Jennifer Ware, Christina Roddy and Donnie Roddy; five great-grandchildren Michael Cicconi, Dominic Cicconi, Kellen Roddy, Connor Ware and Mosley Ware; a sister, Mrs. Betty Condon of New York.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2004, at St. Mary Catholic Church by Father John Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel.

Frank C. Frederick Sr. 82, a resident at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, since 1997, died Tuesday, June 22, there, after a short illness.
Mr. Frederick was bom April 11, 1917, in Johnstown, the son of Norman and Christina Gross Frederick. He was educated in area schools, had resided in Palatine Bridge and was a life-long area resident.
On Dec. 6, 1934, he married Hazel Baker. She died in 1988. On Oct. 21, 1989, he married Ruth Flanigan. She died in 1996.
Mr. Frederick had been employed for General Electric in Schenectady and owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Palatine for many years, retiring in 1984. He also had
been employed at Palatine Dye in St. Johnsville.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stone Arabia.
Survivors include one son, Robert L. Frederick of Palatine Bridge; three daughters, Dorothy Russ of Canajoharie, Hazel Lewis of St. Johnsville and Patricia J. Congdon of Mohawk; two brothers, William Frederick of Ilion and Raymond Frederick of Kansas City, Ml; one sister, Christine Colby of Gloversville; 25 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Richard in 1964 and Fran Jr. in 1996.
The funeral service was conducted Friday, June 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. John Omans officiated. Burial was in Ephratah Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours were Thursday, June 24, at Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home. Fort Plain.

Montgomery and Oneida County officials are investigating the death of Richard Frederick, 24, of Palatine Bridge R.D., who died Friday afternoon at Utlca State Hospital.
An Oneida County coroner, Dr. Preston Clark of New Hartford, withheld a final verdict pending results of laboratory tests.
Frederick reportedly swallowed some pills and drank alcohol of the type used as antifreeze in automobile radiators in Palatine Bridge Thursday night.
Montgomery County Sheriff William S. Wert said he and County Investigator Thomas Murray and Deputy Robert Van Alstine went to Palatine Bridge Thursday night to investigate a report of a scuffle in that village.
The sheriff said he found Palatine police at the scene trying to control Frederick, who told them he had swallowed some pills and drank alcohol.
Frederick was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital. Amsterdam, for treatment and that same night was taken to the Utica State Hospital. Authorities said the young man was depressed and in apparent need of psychiatric treatment. He was committed to the Utica institution by Dr. Martin F. Geruso, city health officer.
According to authorities at the hospital, Frederick died about 1 p.m. Friday.
Laboratory tests were ordered to determine the cause of death and results of these tests are expected shortly.

Harlan “Fritz" Frederick Sr., 76, of Gloversville, died Sunday, Aug. 6, at his home.
Mr. Frederick was born in the town of Johnstown. He was educated in Johnstown schools and had been a lifelong area resident.
During World War II he served with the U S Army.
He was self-employed, retiring in December of 1994.
Mr. Frederick was a member of Amsterdam American Legion Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 942, Johnstown Moose Lodge, Johnstown Eagles Aerie and Tioga Tribe Redmen and Redmen Bowing Team.
On May 13, 1960, he was married to Doris Butts.
Survivors, beside his widow, include a sou, Harlan Frederick Jr. of Johnstown; a daughter. Delores Paquin of Rock City Falls; two stepsons, Gary Christman of Fonda and Ray Christman of Ocala, FL; a sister, Christine Colby of Gloversville; three brothers, Frank Frederick of Palatine Bridge, Wiliam Frederick of Ilion and Raymond Fredenck of Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral service was conducted Tuesday, Aug. 8, at A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Johnstown with burial in Ephratah Cemetery.
Calling hours were Monday, Aug. 7, at the funeral home.

Frederick Sr. of Ko-Z Mobile Park, Gloversville, nd the late Mrs. Betty G. Frederick, at a ceremony at 2 Saturday afternoon at the First Methodist Church. Rev. Clair E. Carpenter, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony.
The altar was decorated with vases of white gladioli, Mrs. Richard Johnson, organist, played a program of sacred and classical music.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white lace gown over taffeta designed with a sabrina neckline, long pointed sleeves and a natural waist. The full skirt was designed with a panel of ruffled tiers at the front and an overskirt encircling the remainder of the skirt. A double row of ruffled tiers bordered the hemline of the skirt. Her triple-tiered bouffant waistlength veil of Swiss imported illusion fell from a crown of triple lace petals, sprays and rhinestones with a miniature crown of seed pearls and crystals at the center. She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations and pompons.
Miss Gloria Cuccurullo of Gloversville was maid of honor. Miss Sharon Christiano of Gloversville and Miss Patricia Travis of Johnstown RD, sister of bride, were bridesmaids, Miss Catherine Ann De Bevoise of Johnstown was junior bridesmaid.
The bride's attendants were identically attired in royal blue velvet and powder blue crepe gowns. The gowns were designed with velvet bodices with scoop necklines, elbow-length sleeves and Empire waists accented with bonds of full panels ot the back. They wore royal blue velvet and crepe double bow headpieces with bouffant veiling.
The maid of honor carried a colonial bouquet of blue and white miniature carnations and Shasta pompons. The other attendants carried similiar bouquets of a lighter shade of blue and white carnations and pompons.
Debra Travis of Johnstown RD, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a white chiffon gown over taffeta, designed with a jewel neckline, short scalloped sleeves, a bouffant skirt and a bond of powder blue daisies at the waistline. Her headpiece was a double bow of white chiffon over taffeta with a powder blue daisy at the center. It was trimmed with matching bouffant veiling. She caried a basket of blue and white daisies.
Edward Schelmbauer of Johnstown was best man. Ushers were Ronald Travis and Charles Travis of Johnstown RD, brothers of the bride, and Gary Atty of Gloversville. Ronald Siver of Johnstown RD, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
The mother of the bride wore a lace dress over blue satin with a blue hat and sliver accessories. She wore a corsage of double white cymbidium orchids. The stepmother of the bridegroom wore a blue crepe dress trimmed with silver and blue and silver accessories. Her corsage was of double neutral cymbidium orchids.
A reception for 150 was held at the Red Men's hall, Johnstown, after the ceremony with guests attending from Johnstown, Gloversville, Amsterdam, Ilion and New Jersey.
For a trip to Niagara Falls, the bride wore a white wool dress with red accessories and red roses. The couple will reside at 28 East Fulton Street, Gloversville. after tomorrow.
The bride, a 1965 graduate of Gloversville High School, is employed at the Diana Knitting Mill. Johnstown. The bridegroom, a 1965 graduate of Johnstown High School, served with the Marine Corps. He is a student with Remington-Rand at Utica under the Manpower Development Training Act.

James Raymond Frederick, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Frederick. Sr. 7 West Green street, died shortly after birth Wednesday in St. Marys hospital, Amsterdam.
The survivors, besides his parents, are one brother, Harlan, Jr., his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gage, Sr, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A prayer service was held Thursday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. Wilmer M. Zuehlke of St. Paul's Lutheran church officiating. Interment was in the Johnstown cemetery.

William "Bill" H. Frederick, 85, of North Columbia Rd., Ilion, died Sunday, August 6, 2006, at Folts Home, Herkimer.
He was born on June 4, 1921 in a farmhouse in Ephratah, NY, the eleventh of 13 children, the son of Norman James and Christine (Grose) Frederick. Bill attended schools in Keck Center and Johnstown, NY. In 1936, he had to quit school in the tenth grade to help his father on their farm. He attained his GED in 1965. Bill served in World War II as a gunner on ships charged with delivering troops and supplies throughout Europe. On June 19, 1943 while delivering supplies to Bandur, Iran, his ship, the SS Henry Knox was torpedoed and sunk in the Indian Ocean. They survived eight days and a fierce hurricane in a lifeboat before making landfall in the Maldive Island group. Within weeks he was reassigned to another ship and back in his gunner position. Before the war was over he served on six different vessels.
On November 23, 1946, he was married to Dorothy Virginia Pett at the North Columbia Church. They would have celebrated their 60th Anniversary this year. Bill worked at the Union Fork & Hoe Co., American Hardwall Plaster Co. and the Masonic Home. Mr. Frederick joined the Mohawk Masonic Lodge on March 9, 1964 and held every office, including Master Mohawk Lodge #276, Herkimer District Deputy Grand Master in 1972, 1980 and 1981 and as trustee from 1973 through 1976 and again in 1982 and as Assistant Grand Lecturer of the Herkimer Masonic District. Other Masonic affiliations include memberships in the Mohawk Valley Consistory, Scottish Rite Club (president 1976 and 1981), member of Ziyara Temple, patron of the Mohawk Chapter OES and a member of the Oriental Court, Order of Amaranth. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints. Bill was also a former director of the Herkimer County Fair Board, assistant scout master of Troup 37 of North Columbia and secretary of the Masonic Co-Ed Bowling League. He was an avid New York Yankees fan, fisherman, bowler and card player.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Patty Frederick of Charlotte, NC, Norman and Rebecca Frederick of Frankfort; his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Daniel Harakis of Herkimer; six grandchildren, Courtney, Colby, Larry and Kara Frederick, Dennis Morris and Teddy Frederick; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Irvin and all his brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2006, at the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints, 317 Gros Blvd., E. Herkimer, NY. Interment will follow at North Columbia Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, August 9, 2006, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, and on Thursday, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Members of the Mohawk Valley Masonic Lodge #276 will conduct their ritualistic services at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Her full skirt terminated in a court train, and her double silk Illusion handrolled, finger-tip veil was caught to a crown of rhlnestones and seed pearls.
The matron of honor was Mrs. Clarence Roddy, sister of the bride, who wore an aqua gown trimmed with lace. It had a fitted bodice and she wore a matching picture hat and mitts, and carried a colonial bouquet of roses with pink streamers.
The best man was Harlan Frederick, brother of the bride, and the usher was David Snyder, brother of the bridegroom.
For the ceremony the altar was decorated with gladioli and palms.
The bridegroom's mother wore a black and white polka dot sheer silk dress with a picture hat, white accessories and a corsage of white roses.
Mrs. Imelda Walsh was at the organ console and Edward F. Glynn was vocalist. The music included Schubert's "Ave Maria," "On This Day, O Beautiful Mother" and "O Sacred Heart, O Love Divine."
Mrs. Theresa Peris, 8 North Melcher street, entertained the wedding party at breakfast after the ceremony.
A reception for 110 guests was held at Red Men's Hall, at which the couple cut a four-tier wedding cake and presented personal gifts to their attendants. Later, the couple left on a week's wedding trip to New York city and on their return they will set up residence at 46 South Main street, Gloversville.
For her going away outfit, the bride chose a blue and white cord suit with white accessories and an orchid corsage.
The bride is a graduate of Johnstown High School and now is employed as a secretary with the Personal Finance Company in this city.
The bridegroom, a graduate of Gloversville High School, served with the U. S. Marines for 3 1/2 years and now is employed as a lineman with the Upstate Telephone Company.

William H. Colby, 79, of Gloversville, was found dead Thursday afternoon after he was reported missing Wednesday.
He was born and raised in St. Johnsville and later moved to Gloversville. He later moved to New Jersey, before again returning to Gloversville. Mr. Colby was employed by Acme Embossing and then by General Electric Co. before
taking a job as a foreman at Heavy Labor Construction Co. in Newark, N.J., from which he retired in 1980. He was a member of New Jersey Local 482.
He served in World War II and the Korean War with the U.S. Marine Corps. During World War II, he participated in the offensives at Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. Mr. Colby was a member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2077, a member fo the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post 137, the Adirondack Marine Corps League and the Military Order of Cootie. He was also a member of the Mayfield Servicemen's Club, the Catholic War Veterans and the Concordia Singing Society. He was involved in the formation of the Joint American Legion and VFW Firing Squad for proper military burial of local veterans.

PALATINE BRTOGE - Leon R. Nellis, 76, of Center Street, died Saturday at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Ephratah, he was employed as a controlling clerk by Baker-Beech-Nut's strained foods department in Canajoharie, for 34 years, retiring in 1963.
He was a member of St. John's-St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Nellie Cook; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Waite of Palatine Bridge; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Lasher of Nelliston; a brother, Claude Nellis of Utica; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Richard C. Nellis, 24, of Palatine Rridge, was fatally injured early this morning when a car in which he was a passenger struck a pole and a tree in the Town of Caroga, Fulton County.
Nellis was pronounced dead on arrival at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
According to State Police at Mayfield. Hie accident happened about 1:45 a.m. as a car operated by Anthony Bartlett of Arietta, was proceeding north on Route 10 in the vicinity of Pine Lake.
Trooper W. E. Fenelon, who investigated said the right front tire of the car blew out and caused the car to leave the east side of the highway. It struck a pole and crashed into a tree, traveling a distance of about 200 feet after it left the highway.
Nellis and Bartlett were removed to Littaner Hospital but Nellis was pronounced dead on arrival. Bartlett suffered a possible broken jaw and was described as in "satisfactory" condition at 10 a.m.
Dr. Robert S. Kunkel of Gloversvllle, Fulton County coroner, withheld a verdict pending an investigation.
Richard C. Nellis-was born Nov. 27, 1933, in Palatine Bridge, son of Leon Nellis and Nellie Cook. He entered the U.S. Army May 27, 1953 and was discharged April 13, 1955.
He-worked in the shipping room of Beech-Nut Lifesavers, Inc. He graduated from Canajoharie High School In 1951 and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Canajoharie. He was a member of the Beagle Club of Fort Plain and treasurer of the Bleecker Ridge Runners of Bleecker.
Survivors are his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Nellis of Palatine Bridge; one sister, Miss Nancy Lee Nellis of Palatine Bridge; a grandmother, Mrs. Lealia Cook, Palatine Bridge; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Houghtaling funeral home, Canajoharie. The Rev. Harold Harter of St. John's Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will be in Fort Plain Cemetery.

Wesley J. Nellis. 69. of 14 North Market St., Johnstown, died Saturday night at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
Mr. Nellis was born in the Town of Ephratah, a son of the late Charles and Mary Elizabeth Abel Nellis, and had been a resident of Johnstown 50 years. Until he retired in 1953, he was employed by Leon F. Swears Inc. Mr. Nellis attended St. Mary's Church of Johnstown and was a violinist.
His wife, Mrs. Anna Dorothy Nellis, died in 1955.
Surviving are one son. George A. Nellis. Johnstown; three brothers, Eugene and Melvin Nellis. Johnstown, and Raymond Nelli,. Gloversville; six sisters; Mrs. Nora Hathfleld and Mrs. Charles Smullens, Johnstown. Mrs. Clara Smullens and Mrs. Inita Tyner, Gloversville, and Mrs. George Miller and Mrs. Herman Liebelt. Amsterdam: three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Cole funeral home. Johnstown. the Rev. W. Walter Betz of St. Mary's Church officiating. interment will be in Johnstown Cemetery.

JOHNSTOWN - Eugene Nellis, 79, of 3 New Montgomery St. died Friday at Albany Veterans Administration Hospital, where he had been a patient two months.
Born in the Town of Ephratah, April 5, 1894. he had been a lifelong area resident and had been in failing health the last year.
He attended schools in Ephratah, was an Army veteran of World War I and was last employed at the former Challenger Glove Co., retiring in 1960.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Gloversville World War I Veterans, organization.
Survivors are his wife, Jennie Edick daughters. Mrs. Alden Smith Johnstown; Mrs. Robert
Stewart of Johnstown FD 1 and Mrs. James Tull of Huntington Station, L.I.; Three sisters, Mrs. Charles Smullens of Johnstown, Mrs. Inita Tyner of Gloversville and Mrs. Eva Liebelt of Amsterdam; two brothers, Melvin Nellis of Canajoharie and Raymond Nellis of Mayfield; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the A. G. Cole Funeral Home by the Rev. Henry Johnson of First Baptist Church. Gloversville. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nellis of 5 New Montgomery Street who will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Monday, will be the guests of honor at an anniversary dinner party tomorrow night at Holiday Inn.
The dinner party is being given by the couple's three daughters, Mrs. Robert Stewart and Mrs. Alden Smith both of Johnstown and Mrs. James Tull of L. I. and 100 guests are expected.
Organ music during the dinner will be provided by Kenneth Hulbert and a cake commemorating the anniversary will be served after the dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. Nellis were united in marriage Jan. 29, 1918, at the parsonage of United Presbyterian Church by the late Rev. J. A. Williamson who was then pastor.
The couple have resided in Johnstown since their marriage.
Nellis was employed for 31 years at the former H. and P. Glove Company as a shipping clerk and then at Challenger Glove Company as a shipping clerk and layer-off until the company ceased operations about eight years ago. He has been retired since then. Mrs. Nellis also worked as a glove maker.
Mrs. Nellis is the former Miss Jennie Edick and the couple have three grandchildren.
Mrs. Nellis said that she and her husband are planning a vacation trip to Florida in April.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Nellis are in good health and enjoy reading, raising African violets and watching television

The attendants were presented with personal gifts. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's psrents.
Later in the day the newlyweds left for a wedding trip to New York city and Washington, D. C. Upon their return they will reside in Johnstown, RD 3.
The bride is a graduate of Johnstown High school and the Nathan Littauer Hospital School of Nursing,
Class of 1946. Mr. Stewart ia a dairy farmer.

Mrs. Nora N. Hathfield, 77, of 103 Glebe Street died at 3:30 this morning at Johnstown Hospital where she had been a patient since Feb. 14.
Born Dec. 27, 1895 at Ephratah, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary E. Abel Nellis. A lifelong county resident, she had been in failing health for the last 22 years.
Mrs. Hathfield was the widow of Earl Hathfield Sr., and was last employed by the former Swears Glove Company. She retired in 1950 because of failing health.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and was a Gold Star mother.
Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Eva Liebelt of Amsterdam, Mrs. Inita Tyner of Gloversville and Mrs. Mildred Smullens of Johnstown; three brothers, Eugene Nellis of Johnstown, Raymond Nellis of Mayfield and Melvin Nellis of Canajoharie; and several nieces and nephews.
