LITTLE FALLS - Mrs. Eugenia Brockett Morey, 95, formerly of 1537 Oneida St., Utica, widow of Clarence E. Morey. died Oct. 14 in Little Falls Hospital.
She was born in tbe Town of Manheim, daughter of Nathaniel and Annie Helmer Brockett. She was a graduate of the former Fairfield Seminary and attended Syracuse University. She was married to Mr. Morey in 1897 in the Town of Manheim. The couple lived in Utica until Mr. Morey died in 1905. Mrs. Morey came to Little Falls in 1905.
She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Utica, and a member of the DAR of Utica.
She leaves two sons. Frank B. Morey, Glens Falls, and Nathaniel B. Morey, Bloomington, Illinois.
The funeral will be at 2 Wednseday from Newitt-Bly Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Johnsville Cemetery.

Utica. June 21.—Clarence E. Morey, 63, Utica organ builder for 48 years, died in his home Thursday night after an illness of several months.
Born in Little Falls, March 31, 1872, Mr. Morey came to Utica in 1893. and with A, L. Barnes formed the organ factory known as Morey & Barnes. In 1801 he built a new factory and then again expanded in 1925.
Mr. Morey was active in civic affairs, being a member of the Utica Rotary Club. Utica Lodge 47. F. and A. M., Winchell Camp 48, Sons of Veterans; Oneida Historical Society and other organizations.

Dolgevllle — Char1es Z. Brockett Sr., of Lamberson St., died yesterday in the Smith Nursing Home, 8 Baker St., after a long illness.
He was born May 30, 1876, in the Town of Manheim, son of Nathaniel and Anna Helmer Brockett. He had operated farms most of his life in the area.
On June 1 1898, he married Mabel Cook. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Besides his wife he leaves a son, Charles Jr. of Dolgeville; two sisters, Mrs. Jean B. Morey of Utica; Mrs. Louis A. Thayer of Little Falls; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 tomorrow from the Jacobson Funeral Home, the Rev. William O. Thomas, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dolgeville Cemetery in the spring.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today.

Mrs. Lulu Helmer, aged 73, died in her home in Mohawk after a long illness.
A practical nurse for many years, Mrs. Helmer had operated a nursing home since coming to Mohawk 19 years ago from West Winfield.
She was born March 1, 1878 in Cooperstown, the daughter of Hudson and Susan Crouse Mulkins. She was married to Sam E. Helmer on September 17, 1897 in Cooperstown.
Her father at one time operated the neighborhood grocery at the corner of Elm street and Susquehanna avenue now owned by Mrs. Anna Leo.
Mrs. Helmer was a member of Grace Episcopal church in Mohawk and the Harmony Grange at Dennison Corners.
She leaves her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Catherine Clark, Mrs. Gertrude Mercer; Albany; Mrs. Bertha Fink. Frankfort; Mrs. Edna Oldick, Warren; six sons, Clifford, Maplewood, N. J.; Gordon, Frankfort; Harry, Middleville; Leon, Ilion; Edward; Marcellus; Robert, Williamsport, Pa.
The funeral was held at 9:30 Tuesday from her home and at 10, from Grace church with the Rev. Walter Hendricks, Episcopal rector, officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery, Herkimer.

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Helmer of Mohawk observed their golden wedding anniversary Sunday at a dinner at Three Mile Point with a gathering of their family and friends.
Lula Mulkins of Cooperstown and Samuel Helmer of Dolgevillc were married September 17, 1897, in Cooperstown by the Rev. Benjamin Ripley. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. William Clinton.
The couple lived in Cooperstown for almost five years where Mr. Helmer worked in a store. They moved to Utica and later to the Mohawk Valley where Mr. Helmer was employed by the New York Central Railroad. He is now employed at the Standard Desk Co., in Herkimer.

The death of Daniel Everett Freeman occurred March 26th at the Otsego County hospital following an illness extending over a period of several years. He was admitted to the hospital in 1944.
Mr. Freeman was born December 13, 1858 (sic), at Little Falls, the son of George L and Florence (Peck) Freeman. He was engaged in the automobile business at Little Falls for some time; and had lived in Cooperstown for the past twenty years.
Surviving are his wife, and one daughter, Mrs. Jean Kirchner of Little Falls. The late Mrs. Charles Shader of Cooperstown was also a daughter. There are five grandchildren, Peter and Daniel Kirchner of Little Falls, both in the armed services, and Charles, William and Ross Shader of Cooperstown.
The funeral was held March 29th at Little Falls and burial was made at that place.

One of the happiest events in this most happy month of the world's history occurred on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Helmer, when their daughter, Lena Margaret, was united in marriage to Leon L. Johns of Livonia. The marriage, which took place at 4 in the afternoon, was preceded by a very informal and delightful reception. The bride was lovely in a gown of white georgette over white satin with opalescent trimming. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Minnie Helmer, and the groom was attended by his brother, George Johns, of Livonia. At 6:30, after running a gauntlet of laughing friends, who deluged them with rice and confetti. Mr. and Mrs. Johns left on their wedding trip to Niagara Falls and upon their return will make their home at Livonia. The bride is a graduate of Syracuse university and is a charming young woman, whom the people of Dolgeville will sadly miss. Mr. Johns, a man of sterling character, is also a graduate of Syracuse university, and has nearly completed his course in law school. The numerous and beautiful wedding gifts included a number of checks of large denominations, Liberty bonds, and a complete set of silver in Fairfax design.

Newport — Lynn F. Helmer, 74, of the Town of Norway, died yesterday in Herkimer Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Dolgeville, Dec. 23, 1885, son of Frederick and Cora Helmer.
He married Cora Shipley, Dec. 6, 1905, in Middleville.
He had lived in Norway the past 50 years and was a farmer until his retirement six years ago.
He Was a member of St. Michael's Memorial Episcopal Church, Middleville; Newport Lodge 455, F&AM; Middleville Fish and Game Club and the Norway Grange.
Besides his wife he leaves four sons, Kenneth, Coldbrook, Kermit, of Utica; Quentin (Bill) and Charles of Newport; four daughters, Mrs. Lavina Scott, Ilion; Mrs. Eleanor Johnson, Newport; Mrs. Geraldine Clement, Potsdam; Mrs. Arlene Harris, Ilion; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Hollis, Middleville; three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Baylor, Fairfield; Mrs. Hazel Farrell, Middleville; Mrs. Ida Mundinger, Geneva; and severl neices and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9:30 Wednesday from the Helmer home and at 10 from St. Michael's Memorial Church, Middleville, with the Rev. William West officiating. Burial will be in Salisbury Center Cemetery.

GRAY- Kenneth W. Helmer, 74, died unexpectedly at his home in Gray, on March 27,1961 after a short illness.
Mr. Helmer was bom in Fairfield. New York October 11,1906. A son of the late Lynn and Cora (Shibley) Helmer. His marriage to the former Ruth Bly took place in 1928 In Gray. For many years he was a car salesman for Brown Brothers of Herkimer. During World War II he worked for Remington Arms, Ilion. Later, until his retirement be was employed as a Laboratory Technician for The Borden Company, Newport.
Besides his wife, survivors include two brothers, Kermit of Utica, Quentin (Bill) of Middleville; four sisters, Mrs William (Lavina) Scott of Ilion, Mrs Arthur (Eleanor) Johnson of Newport. Mrs. Geraldine Clement and Mrs. Arlene Harris both of Ilion and sevral nieces and nephews. Another brother. Charles, predeceased him in 1978.
The funeral will be from the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport on Monday at 10 a.m.. Interment will be in Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Saturday from 7-9 and sunday 2-4 and 7-9. Memorials may be made to the Kuyahoora Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

HERKIMER - NEWPORT - Mrs. Eleanor Johnson, 71, of Sherwood Acres, Herkimer, and formerly of North St., Newport, died November 4, 1987. at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
Mrs. Johnson was born October 25, 1916, in the Town of Norway, a daughter of the late Lynn and Cora Shibley Helmer. She graduated from Newport High School, and was married to Arthur L. Johnson, on November 5, 1938, in Little Falls. Mr. Johnson died September 2, 1981. She was once employed as a bobkkeeper at Helmer's Feed Store, Newport, and more recently, served as Tax Collector of the West Canada Valley School District, for several years. Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Middleville, and was the youngest matron ever to serve Kuyahoora Chapter #145 O.E.S.
Survivors include two brothers. Kermit D. Helmer, of Utica, and Q. William Helmer, of Middleville; three sisters; Arlene Harris, Geraldine Clement and Lavina Scott, all of Ilion; several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by two brothers. Kenneth and Charles Helmer.
The funeral will be held from the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, on Friday at 9:30 a.m. and from St. Michael's Church. Middleville, at 10 a.m.. where, a Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by the Rev. Arthur Bice. Rector. Interment will take place in Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Calling hours at the Funeral Home are Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9.
Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Church, Middleville, or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Kuyahoora Chapter #146 O.E.S. will conduct their ritualistic service at the funeral home, Thursday evening at 7:30.

NEWPORT - Mr. Arthur L Johnson, 68, of North Street. Newport, died September 2, 1981 at his home.
Mr. Johnson was born August 9. 1913 in the Town of Norway, the son of Gertrude Frinkle Johnson and the late Charles Johnson. His marriage to the former Eleanor Helmer took place in Little Falls on November 5, 1938. He attended Poland High School and Excelsior School of Business, Utica. Mr. Johnson was employed by the U.S. Government at Fort Drum fromn 1941-1947 and from 1947 until his retirement in 1977 at Snyder Motor Sales, Newport. He served on the Vestry of St Michael's Episcopal Church, Middleville for 30 years and for the past ten years as Senior Warden. He was elected as a Town Councilman in 1979 for a term of four years and also served 18 years on the Newport Playground Committee. Mr. Johnson joined Newport Lodge #455 F & AM in 1937 and throughout the years has served in both elected and appointed offices. He served two years as Junior Warden and three years as Senior Warden. He was presently serving his second year as Worshipful Master and received, the Dedicated Service Award in 1979. Mr. Johnson was recently appointed Grand Director of Ceremonies of the Grand Lodge of the State of New York.
Survivors besides his wife and mother include one sister, Mrs Irene Duignan, Cold Brook; one nephew,
Charles Duignan. Maryland: two nieces, Mrs. Connie Henry, Maryland and Mrs Carolyn Marshall, Poland.
The funeral will be from the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport on Saturday at 9:30 and from St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Middleville at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Fairfield - The sudden death of Mrs. Hollis Helmer at her home near here on Saturday was a shock to her many friends. Mr. and Mrs. Helmer conduct the Ida Rice farm near here, and Mrs. Helmer was engaged in mopping the floor of the house when she was stricken and died before medical aid could be summoned. She had been ailing for some time. Mrs. Helmer's maiden name was Iva Gould, and she was born in Auburn on May 6, 1891. She was united in marrige to Mr. Helmer in 1912. Besides the husband there survive one son, Arthur, and four sisters, Mrs. Walter Welch of Ilion, Mrs. Arthur Baker of Norway, Mrs. Wilbur Moore of Pasadena, Cal., and Mrs G. Jackson of Clinton; also two brothers, William Gould of Ilion and Adelbert Gould of Norway, all of whom have the symopathy of teh community in the death of this good woman. the funeral will be held at 1 p. m. standard time today, Tuesday, and burial will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery at Herkimer. The Lady Maccabees, of which shew was a member, will conduct commital services at the grave.

Middleville - Miss Margaret Butler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Butler, and Arthur Helmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Helmer, were united in marriage at the parish house of St. John's Church, Newport, Saturday at 10 a. m. by Father McCormack.
The attending couple was Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Wood, sister of the bride.
The bride wore white satln with shoulder length veil, and a corsage --- of red roses. She also wore white accessories. The bridesmaid wore yellow satin with yellow roses and white accessories.
A wedding breakfast was served at the bride's home. After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Canada they will reside on Herkimer Street, this village, where the groom has a position in the Middleville Leather Company.

MIDDLEVILLE - Mrs. Hazel M. Farrell, 88, formerly of Little Falls and Middleville, widow of Daniel Farrell, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1980. She was born on Oct 30, 1892, in Dolgeville, daughter of Fred and Cora Reed Helmer and attended Dolgeville schools. In 1911 she married Daniel H. Farrell in Little Falls. Mr. Farrell died in 1962.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Minerva) Plunkett, Ilion; one brother, Hollis Helmer, Middleville; four grandchildren; one greatgranddaughtee; several nieces and nephews.
