  James W. Reed, 59, of 713 Herkimer Road, a salesman employed by Winn's Furniture Co., died yesterday in Faxton Hospital.
   He was bom in Frankfort. He was a graduate of Camden Central School and Utica School of Commerce. He married Cecelia Folts 34 years ago. Before coming to Utica he lived in Camden and Rome. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
  He leaves two daughters, Mrs. David (Caroline) Farnsworth, Camden, and Mrs. Ronald (Patricia) LaVancher, Brooksville, Fla.; two sons, Henry Reed, East Syracuse, and James W. Reed Jr., New York City, and two brothers; Gerald T. Reed, Camden, and Harry F. Reed, Camden postmaster.
  The funeral will be at 8:15 tomorrow from the Matt Funeral Home and at 9 from Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial will be in St John's Cemetery, Camden.

  The attending couple wore Miss Verna Burke and Elwin Roland. After the ceremony, the bridal party motored to MrKeever, where they had dinner before starting on a short, wedding trip. They will reside in Boonville for the present.

  Camden - Funeral services for A/3C Joseph P. Reed, 19, who was killed early yesterday when the truck in which he was riding was involved in a collision with another car, near here, will be at 2 Tuesday from teh Sanborn Funeral Home.
  Airman Reed, valedictorian and president of the 1961 graduating class from Camden Central School, was born here, son of Gerald P. Reed and Erva Dale Reed. While in high school he was a member of the track team.
  The youth had been stationes at the Air Force Base, Grand Forks, N. D. He was a membe rof the Methodist Church.
  Besides his parents who live at 45 Liberty St. he leaves five sisters, Mrs. Francis Brazie, Darby, Conn.; Miss Barbara Reed, San Diego, Calif.; Miss Carol Reed and Miss Linda Reed, both of Camden, and Mrs. Michel Conley, McConnellsville: five brothers, Gerald H. Reed, William R. Reed, Edward Reed and David Reed, all of Camden and Donald Reed, Rome, and his maternal grandmother Mrs. Leona Dale, Camden.
  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

  HANNIBAL — Mrs. Marion Bell Welling, widow of Blaine Welling, died in St. Joseph's hospital, Syracuse, Dec. 9, after a five-week illness.
  Mrs. Welling recently under went surgery for amputation of both of her legs in the Syracuse hospital.
  Born Dec. 6, 1890, in Ilion, she was the daughter of James and Margaret Casler Bell. A graduate of Ilion High school and of the Home Economics Department at St. Lawrence University, she organized the Home Economics Department at Hannibal High school in 1912. A descendant of the first settlers of Ilion and vicinity, she was married to Blaine L. Welling of Hannibal in 1915.
  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. W. R. Gibbons of San Diego, Cal. and Mrs. Ira D. Kelley of San Francisco, Cal.; one son, Jack Welling of Hannibal; one sister, Miss Edith Bell of Ilion; also sis grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. in the Mott funeral home with burial in Hannibal Center cemetery.
  Calling hours on Friday will be from 7-9 p. m.

  Funeral services for Blaine L. Welling, 64, of Hannibal Center were held at 2:30 p. m., Sunday at the Mott funeral home in HannibaL Rev. Dean Shaw, pastor of Hannibal Methodist church, officiated. Burial in Hannibal Center cemetery. Mr. Welling, a native of Ira, died at his home in Hannibal Center late Friday afternoon after a long illness.
  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marion Welling; a son, Jack B. Welling of Hannibal Center and two daughters. Mrs. William Gibbons of SanDiego, Calif., and Mrs. Ira Kelly of San Francisco, Calif.; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a nephew.

  In a ceremony of charming simplicity, Miss Frances Louise Ridenhour, daughter of Mrs. Minta Ridenhour Cauthen, and Jack Bell Welling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine L. Welling of Hannibal, were married at 4 p. m. Jan. 8 at the Plaza Presbyterian church in Charlotte, N. C. The ceremony was performed before a background of palms and baskets of white gladioli flanked by seven branched candelabra, the candles of which were lighted by Ike B. Pittiman of Charlestown, S. C, brother-in-law of the bride. A program of organ music was played before and during the ceremony and Mr. Overcash sang, "Because" at that time. The "Lord's Prayer" was sung before the benediction.
  The bride was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, James M. Puckett. She wore a bridal pink satin gown fashioned with deep shoulder effect with crepe yoke the same shade. The fitted bodice was scalloped on to a full skirt which ended in a short train. Her sholder veil was worn with a coronet of pink satin. She carried an arm bouquet of deep pink rosebuds and gardenias tied with wide satin ribbon of a deeper shade.
  Mrs. John L. Grant of Columbia, S. C, was her sister's only attendant. She wore a floor length dress of deep pink faille with long matching gloves and off-face hat carrying a bouquet of pale pink rosebuds and white asters, tied with pink satin ribbon.
   The groom had as his best man T./Sgt. John L. Grant.
  Mrs. Minta Ridenhour Cauthen, mother of the bride, wore a black gabardine silk suit and corsage of red roses. Mrs. Blaine L. Welling. mother of the groom, wore a suit of grey faille with corsage of white roses.
  An informal reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Puckett. The bridal table was covered with a lace cloth With arrangement of white gladioli and silver candlesticks. At one end of the table was a three-tiered wedding cake and at the opposite end was the punch bowl.
  The bride was formerly from Spartanburg, S. C, and after graduating from High school was employed in Rock HilL S. C. She served three years as Technical Sgt. in the Marine Corps. Women's Reserve, during the war and at the time of her marriage was employed as bookkeeper with the Commercial Credit company of Spartanburg.
  The groom served in the air force with the Troop Carrier command with three years service in the European theater and at present is associated with his father in business.
  Mr. and Mrs. Welling will reside in Hannibal.

  CLEVELAND, N.Y. - John Weber App, 58, president of the First National Bank of Central Square, died in Oswego hospital at 1:15 this morning, after being stricken on his way from Oswego to Central Square. Mr App had transacted business in the county clerk;s office in Oswego Monday, and was taken ill at New Haven on his return. He was removed to Oswego hospital.
  Mr. App was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George App. He attended local schools and received his AB degree from Syracuse University and his LLD degree from the Syracuse law school. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, Syracuse.
  Admitted to the bar in 1919. Mr. App practiced law for several years in Watertown and later became a partner in the widely-known firm of Newman & Bisco in New York City. He subsequently became head of fhe real estate department in the firm of Simpson, Thatcher & Bartlett, 120 Broadway New York City.
  Mr; App resigned from the latter firm to accept the presidency of the First National Bank of Central Square on April 1, 1952.
  He is survived by his wife, the former Lucille O'Connor, of Pittsburgh. She is the sister of Judge Francis J. O'Connor, Pittsburgh. Also surviving are two sons, Jonathan and Peter Beardslee App, both attending Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass; one daughter, Miss Gretchen App; one brother Clarence and two sisters, Miss Helen App and Mrs. Catherine Bennett of Cleveland.
  The body was taken in charge by the J. Floyd Smith funeral home of Camden.
  The funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a. m. in St. Mary's church here, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery.

He married Lucille M. Moore in 1961 in Newport. Mr. Weber also had been employed by the former Pelton's Hardware, and during World War II, served with the Army artillery. He was a Corporal ... He leaves his wife, a step-daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Mary) Teriho, East Herkimer; four brothers, Douglas, Jacob and Warren, all of Herkimer, and Frederick of Mohawk; five sisters, Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Oliver, Vernon Center; Mrs. Henry (Frances) Schvihla, Mrs. Rudolph (Joyce) Schader, Mrs. David (Joan) Parsons, and Mrs. Edward (Shirley) Getman, all of Herkimer.    Jacob P. Weber  
   HERKIMER - Jacob P. "Jake" Weber of 76 Steuben Road died Friday morning, May 12, 2000, in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Center, New Hartford.
   He was born on June 20, 1923 in Herkimer, son of the late Jacob P. and Dorothy Witherstine Weber. A lifelong Herkimer resident he was educated in Herkimer schools. An honorably discharged U.S. Navy veteran, he served our country during World War II. He first started his working life as a plumber, working for Ertman Plumbers. In 1954, he was employed by the Herkimer County Highway Department and retired as a foreman in 1984.
   Jake was a man who enjoyed doing for others. He will always be remembered for his helpful advice and quick wit. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club, The Old Forge Fish and Game Club and the East Pond Hunting Club of Tupper Lake.
   Surviving him are one daughter, Kerry and her husband Gene Bonomo and two grandchildren, Star-Lynne and Angelo Bonomo, all of Newport; one brother, Warren and his wife Ruth Weber of Herkimer; three sisters, Joyce and her husband Rudy Schrader of Herkimer, Joan Parsons and her companion Jim Munger of East Herkimer, Shirley and her husband Edward Getman of Herkimer; a brother-in-law, Donald Oliver of Vernon; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Howell, who died in World War II, Robert, Frederick, William, and Douglas Weber; two sisters, Margaret Oliver and Frances Schvihla.
   Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10: a.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer. The Rev. Dale Dickerson, pastor of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Herkimer, will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 p.m.
   Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

  Edward H. Getman of Herkimer
   Edward H. Getman, age 71, of East German Street, entered into eternal rest on Monday evening, August 30, 2004, in Valley Health Services Inc., Herkimer, after a long illness. He was born on April 4, 1933, in Ilion, son of the late Earl H. and Mabel Amell Getman. Ed was raised in West Winfield and was a graduate of West Winfield High School "class of 1952". An honorably discharged US Army veteran, he served in Korea during the Korean War. On March 20, 1953 he married the former Shirley Weber in West Winfield. After his military service he had worked as a mechanic for Pat Patterson's Garage in East Herkimer until 1962. He then moved to Arizona and worked with his brother, Earl, as an electrician. Mr. Getman returned to Herkimer in 1992, and worked maintenance at the East Herkimer State Trooper Substation, until his retirement in 2002. Ed had a strong belief in God and was of the Methodist faith. He was a life member of the Michael S. Pliseck Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4915, Herkimer. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his many friends and family, especially his three grandchildren. He was proud of their athletic abilities and was always there to cheer them on at sporting events. He will be greatly missed by many. Surviving him are his wife of 51 years, Shirley; one son, James, and his wife, Janet Getman of East Herkimer; a brother Earl H. Jr. and his wife, Sandra Getman of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Amy Getman of Manlius, James Getman Jr. of Herkimer, Jered Getman of East Herkimer; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be on Friday at 11 a.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Wrightson Tongue, Pastor of the Fist United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Friday morning, one hour prior to the funeral service, 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the National World War II Memorial Trip, c/o Mohawk Valley Chapter American Red Cross, 235 North Prospect Street, Herkimer, NY 13350. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Brutal and Michelle, the third floor staff of Faxton-St. Luke's Oncology Unit for the care and compassion shown to Ed and his family during his illness.
