 - Obituary (Amsterdam Evening Recorder, NY, Monday, June 4, 1917)
  Peter H. Getman, aged 84 years, of 13 Hudson avenue, Gloversville, died Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. He had been in feeble health for a long time, and his death was not unexpected. He was born in Ephratah, June 29, 1833, son of Col. Peter F. and Elizabeth Getman. For about 35 years he lived at Palatine Bridge, but for the past seven years had made his home with his children in Gloversville. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Canajoharie. The surviving relatives are three daughters, Mrs. James Seaman of Johnstown. Mrs. Charles Jukes and Mrs. G. Wallace Brown of Gloversville; one brother, Lester Getman of Gloversville; one grandson, Harry G. Seaman, and one great-grandson, Clyde Seaman, of Johnstown. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. Wallace Brown, Hudson avenue. Gloversville. The Rev. Fred L. Decker, D. D., will officiate, and interment will be made at Prospect Hill cemetery, Canajoharie. The funeral will be private to relatives and immediate friends.

  Mrs. Minnie Jukes, 78, who had been a member of the Getman home family for the past five years, died there yesterday afternoon following a long illness.
  Mrs. Jukes was born in Canajoharie and spent her early life there. She was a member of the First Methodist church and the Loyal Thirteen class, the Betsy Ross Circle and the WSCS of the church.
  The only survivor is a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth J McCabe, also a member of the Getman home family.
  The funeral will b eheld at the Bledsoe funeral home 23 Prospect aveneue, Monday afternoon at 2. The Rev. Harry L. Lueridh Ed.D. of the First Methodist church will officiate.
  Burial will be in Prospect Hill cemetery.

  Charles H. Jukes, aged 50, died at his home, 29 Almond street, yesterday morning at 9:30, following an illness since last October. Mr. Jukes was born September 24, 1874, at Ephratah and came to Gloversville eighteen years ago. A year later he became connected with the Bryce harness shop in Bleecker street, where he remained until illness caused his retirement last October.
  Mr. Bryce, speaking of Mr. Jukes yesterday said he was very conscientious, faithful and loyal in his duties. He was a member of the Fremont Street Methodist Episcopal church.
  The surviving relatives are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Jukes; his mother, Mrs. Ida V. Jukes, of Gloversville; one sister, Mrs. Delos Smith, of Ilion; two nieces, Mrs. Lauren Bell of Middletown, Conn., and Mrs, Gladys Lehman, of Ilion.
  The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at the home, at 2. Rev. David W. Reid will officiate and interment will be made in Prospect Hill.

 - Obituary (Amsterdam Evening Recorder, NY, Thursday, February 19, 1903)
  Henry Nellis, a farmer residing near Palatine church, was found dead in his barn Tuesday night.
   About 6 o'clock he left his home to go to the barn for the purpose of feeding the stock. He was gone longer than usual and an investigation being made his body was found near the grain bin. Heart disease caused death-
   Mr. Nellis was about 62 years of age and one of the best known men in the town of Palatine, having lived all his life in that locality. The news of his sudden death was received with astonishment.
   Besides a widow, two sisters survive. The funeral will be held on Friday.

The funeral was held Saturday at the residence at 11 a. m., Rev. L. B. Dutcher officiating. Interment was made at Fort Plain cemetery.

  STONE ARABIA ... Mrs. Celia Lepper, aged 83 years, 4 months, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Getman, of this place. She had been in ill health for a very long time.
  The deceased is survived by five sons. William, of Wagner's Hollow: Geo. and Charles, of Gloversville: Frank, of Nebraska: Clark, of this place, and two daughters. Miss Mary, of Fultonville, and Mrs. John Getman, of this place; one sister, Mrs. Richard Young, of Wagner's Hollow, also 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
  The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p. m., at the Reformed church, Ephratah, the Rev. L. B. Dutcher, officiating.

  Eve Ann Getman died on Thursday evening at 6 o'clock at the Home for Elderly Women in Amsterdam of cerebral hemorrhages, after an illness of several weeks, aged seventy-eight
years.
  Miss Getman was born in Ephratah August 18, 1840. For many years she followed the occupation of dressmaking, and was well known in many Fulton county communities. Four years ago she came to Amsterdam, and had since resided at the Home for Elderly Women. She was a member of St. Luke's English Lutheran church.
  Besides one sister; Mrs. Elisabet Dockstader, Miss Getman is survived by four nieces, Mrs. C. F. Bowman of St. Jahnsville; Mrs. A. C, Van Wie, of Palatine; Mrs. Snell Swart and Mrs. Anna Mink, of Amsterdam and one nephew, Wellington Dockstader, of Amsterdam.
  The funeral service will be held at the home Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. W. Edgar Pierce officiating. Interment will be at Ephratah.
