  Mrs, Adah King, 80, died Friday night in the Canajoharie Nursing Home where she had been a patient for many months. She had been in ill health for several years.
  She was born on April 9, 1886 in the Palatine Church area, Town of Palatine, the daughter of Lipe and Alma Nellis Klock, and was a direct descendant of Johannes Klock, of the Revolutionary period who owned and lived at Klock Fort. The early years of her life were spent in the local area.
  She was twice married, her first husband being Clinton Shaut who died in 1946. Her second husband was Clarence King, who died in 1953.
  Mrs. King had been a member of Montgomery Rebekah Lodge for 51 years. She was a member and Past Matron of Maquaes Chapter. OES. and a member of the Grace Congregational Christian Church.
  She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Willis (Katherine) Shaffer, Fort Plain and Mrs. Marguerite Wilbur of New Orleans; two brothers, Walter of Albany and John of Syracuse; one half-sister, Mrs. Iva Cales, of Florida, and two half brothers, Lipe and Adam Klock, St Johnsville. Also several cousins, nieces and nephews.

  Frankfort correspondent to Utica P'ress, Feb. 26.—The death last evening of Amos Klock is one of the saddest events of the year which has been the close of so many helpful and useful lives. Mr. Klock was in his full flush of early manhood, being but 28 years of age. He was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Lipe Klock of St. Johnsville, where he was born. About four years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Grace Getman of Johnstown and soon afterwards came to this village, where he has since made his home. When a lad of 17 he entered the employ of the New York Central railroad and has for some time been employed as a fireman on that road. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Firemen and was also a member of Olive Branch Lodge, F. & A. M. He had been ill for two weeks with typhoid fever, which later developed complications of meningitis. He leaves to mourn his untimely death his heart broken young wife, his sorrowing parents, several brothers and sisters and a bright little daughter, Maryland, aged three years.
  The funeral will be held trom the M. E. church at St. Johnsville Tuesday and will be in charge of the Masons. There will be a prayer service at his late home here at 9:45 Tuesday, after which the body will be taken to St. Johnsville. The members of Olive Branch Lodge, F. & A. M., are requested to meet at the rooms at 9:30 Tuesday morning to attend the service at the house and they will then accompany the body to St. Johnsville.

  FORT PLAIN - Willis H. Shaffer, 80, of 33 Spring Street, died Sunday at his home after a
brief illness.
   Born Sept. 1, 1891 in Fort Plain, he was the son of Henry and Carrie Reamon Shaffer. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Plain, Otsquago Lodge of Odd Fellows and was a retired fireman of Fort Plain Volunteer Fire Department.
  He operated the John Yerdon Box Factory in Fort Plain for several years. Shaffer also was associated for 20 years with the Canajoharie Nursing Home.
  Survivors include his wife, Katherine A. Klock Shaffer; one daughter, Mrs. Howard Dyer of Fort Johnson; three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Cooper of Fort Plain, Mrs. Andrew Fonda, of Nelliston and Mrs. Allen Young of Johnstown; two granddaughters, Miss Katherine Dyer of Holland, Mich., and Mrs. Kevin Skivington of Dover, Del.; one great-grandson and nieces.

  Fort Plain, June 11. -- Today at 12 o'clock, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lipe Klock, in St. Johnsville, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Miss Katherine Klock, to Willis Shaffer, of this village. The ceremony was with ring and was performed by the Rev. H. W. McCrone, pastor of the Lutheran church of St. Johnsville. The attendants were Miss Rita Shaffer, of Fort Plain, sister of the bridegroom, and John Klock, of St. Johnsville, brother of the bride. Ada Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Cooper, of this village, a niece of bridegroom, was ring bearer. The bride was given away by her father. Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to nearly 100 guests, after which the couple left for a wedding trip which will be spent at Niagara Falls, and upon their return they will reside in St. Johnsville for the present. The bride is a popular young lady of St. Johnsville and the bridegroom is a son of Henry Shaffer, of Fort Plain, and has lived here all his life, and is popular and well liked by all who know him. For several years past he has been foreman at the John M. Yordon box factory here, and, although making his home in St. Johnsville, he will retain his position in the Yordon shop. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Shaffer tender best wishes for a long and prosperous married life.

  Benjamin J. Fusmer, 86, of 30 South Chase Street, died at 6:45 last night in Johnstown Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in failing health for the last two years.
  Born in Johnstown, Sept. 2, 1889, he was the son of Henry and Luella Lasher Fusmer.
  He attended Canajoharie schools and later married the former Mabel Suits, who survives. Mr. Fusmer had been employed, until recently, for the last 22 years as desk clerk at the YMCA. Prior to this he managed the former A & P market.
  Mr. Fusmer was a member of the Senior Citizens of the Johnstown YMCA, the Masonic Lodge, of which he was a former bowling captain; and the Covenant Presbyterial Church. He was an elder of the former Second United Presbyterian Church for 20 years.
  Besidees his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie McGuire of Scotia; a son, Roger Fusmer of West Palm Beach, Fla., four grandchildren and two nieces.

  Graveside services at the St. Johnsville Cemetery were held Thursday afternoon for John L. Klock, 79, former resident, of Syracuse, who died Monday.
  Born in St. Johnsville on Aug. 5,1899, he was the son of Lipe and Alma Nellis Klock. He was married to Margaret Warden who died several years ago.
  He was employed as a projectionist by the St. Johnsville theatre. Later he moved to Syracuse where he was employed in the same capacity until his retirement several years ago.
  Survivors include two sons, Walter and John Klock, both of Syracuse; three daughters, Mrs Valetta Brown, Evelyn, and Mrs. Margaret Bevins, all of Syracuse; three brothers, Walter Klock, Albany, Adam and Lipe Klock, both of St Johnsville; a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Wilber, New Orleans, La.; 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

 - Wedding Announcement (Amsterdam Evening Recorder, Thursday, June 23, 1921)
  Canajoharie, June 23,  — Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Nellis In Palatine Bridge took place the marriage of their daughter, Miss Marion Mabel Nellis. and Alva B. Waffle, of Fort Plain. The ceremony was performed in the parlor under a large wedding bell surrounded with evergreen and blackeyed Susans, by the Rev. William M. Baum, Jr., pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran church, and was witnessed by about 175 relatives and other invited guests.
   The bride was prettily attired in a gown of white charmeuse, with pearl trimmings and white silk net. She carried a bouquet of white roses, with showers of lilies of the valley. Her veil was caught up with orange blossoms.
  The maid of honor, Miss Jessie M. Smith of this village, wore pink satin with gold lace and carried pink carnations. The bridesmaids Hilda A. Nellis and Mrs. C. Maxwell Hammer, sisters of the bride. Miss Nellis wore a dress of orchid satin and Mrs. Hammer a dress of green satin, with silver lace. Both carried bouquets of sweet peas. C. Maxwell Hammer was best man and the ushers were Allen Nellis, Harold Allen, Curtis Granger, William Bronk and Jay Shults. Betty and George Allen and Orville Granger carried baskets of flowers. which were strewn in the bride's path. Miss Adelalde Case, of Albany, carried the ring. She wore blue organdy.
  The gifts to the best man and ushers were gold pencils and the maid, of honor and bridesmaids received silver spoons.
   The house was decorated with evergreen and flowers.
  After the ceremony a wedding supper was served. Both bride and bridegroom are well known and popular young people. The bride is a graduate of the Palatine Bridge High school. They received a large number of gifts, including cut glass, furniture and money. After spending a few weeks in the Five Finger lakes region Mr. amd Mrs. Waftle will return to Fort Plain, where they will make their future home at 11 High street. The brides going away gown was blue tricotine with hat to match.

  CANAJOHARIE - Mrs. Edith Granger, 70, of 81 Walnut St., Canajoharie died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Her husband, Curtis G. Granger died unexpectedly this morning.
  Born in Palatine Bridge May 13,1903 she was the daughter of Amos Nellis and Ada Allen. She was a retired office worker for Beech-Nut Lifesavers Corp.
  Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Russell Alter, Fort Plain; one brother, Allen Nellis, Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Alvey Waffle, Fort Plain, RD; Mrs. Darwin Shuler, Canajoharie; one step-son, Walter Granger, Palatine Bridge; one granddaughter, one greatgrandson and two step-grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Frank H. Heimer officiating. Burial will be in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the Lenz Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

 CANAJOHARIE - Curtis G. Granger, 67, of 8L,Walnut St., a retired businessman, died yesterday in his home of a heart attack, only hours after his wife, Edith Nellis Granger, 70, was pronounced dead on arrival at Lattauer Hospital,  Gloversville.
   Mr. Granger was born in Fort Plain and had lived in Fort Plain and Canajoharie all of his life. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Canajoharie.
  He leaves a son, C. Walther, of Palatine Bridge; a brother, Orville, of Fort Plain.
  Mrs. Granger was born in Palatine Bridge, the daughter of Amos and Ada Allen Nellis. She had lived in the area all of her life and had been employed by the Beech-Nut Co. for 40 years. She was also a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, and of Fort Rensselaer Chapt., DAR.
  She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Betty) Alter, of Fort Plain; a brother, Allen Nellis, of Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Alvey (Marion) Waffle, Fort . Plain and Mrs. Darwin (Hilda) Shuler, of Canajoharie.
  The funeral for Mr. and Mrs. Granger will be at 2 Wednesday from St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
  Calling hours for the couple are after 4 today in the Lenz Funeral Home. Canajoharie. Funeral arrangements for Mr. Granger were made by the Houghtaling Funeral Home, Canajoharie.

  FORT PLAIN — Stanley G. Bauder, 52, president of the Bauder Oil Co. Inc., Fort Plain died in his sleep early this morning at his home on Mohawk St. His wife, the former Margaret Rickard, found him at 7:30 this morning.
  Born May 13, 1905, at Fort Plain R.D. He was a son of Victor S. and Grace Anna Bellinger.
  Mr. Bauder was district chairman for several years and also first vice president of Sir William Johnson Council, Boy Scouts of America.
  Survivors besides his wife are on son, Robert, who is attending school in Brooklyn, and a brother, Keith, in Florida.
  Mr. Bauder is a graduate of Fort Plain High School. He had been ill for a long time.
  Funeral arrangements under the charge of Gray funeral home, Fort Plain, are incomplete.

  FORT PLAIN—Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 the home of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Rickard, 20 Prospect street, was the scene of the wedding of their daughter, Florence Elizabeth Rickard, and William J. Krum, Jr. Only the immediate families witnessed the ceremony which was performed by Rev. E. R. Kruizenga, pastor of the Reformed church.
  The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Stanley G. Bauder, matron of honor, and Miss Charlotte June Rickard, bridesmaid. The bridegroom was attended by fc college classmate, John Scott Kerr of Cincinnatus.
  The bride wore a gown of white peau d'ange lace. Her veil of white tulle was fastened cap-shape to her head with orange blossom clusters at either side. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and bridal daisies.
  The matron of honor was attired in blue net over blue taffeta and carried a bouquet of pink roses. The bridesmaid wore pink crepe with white lace and also carried pink roses. The home was beautifully decorated with a color scheme of pink and white.
  Two cousins of the bridegroom, Misses Arlene and Esther Elwood, playing the violin and piano respectively, rendered Lohengrin's wedding march while the bridal party proceeded to the altar. Following the ceremony there was a reception after which Mr. and Mrs. Krum left on their wedding trip. The bride's traveling suit was of light blue boucle.
  After September first the bride and bridegroom will take up their residence in Andes, Delaware county. The bride was graduated from State College at Albany and is a member of Kappa Delta sorority. The bridegroom is a graduate of Hamilton College at Clinton, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa fraternity.
