At 8 o'clock last evening, at the home of Jerome Tibbetts, No. 30 Marshall avenue, occurred a very pretty ceremony which united in marriage his daughter, Miss Maude H. Tibbetts and Fred W. Evans, of the firm of W. H. Evans & Son. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Edgar H. Brown, in the presence of the immediate friends and relatives. The house was handsomely decorated with palms, evergreens and roses. The bride was becomingly attired in a white Swiss gown, trimmed with liberty sik and violets, and carried a bouquet of roses. At the close of the ceremony, refreshments of a very appetizing character were served. After a very enjoyable time the guests departed, with many good wishes for a long and happy future. The bride is a well known and highly esteemed young lady, possessing many sterling qualities. Mr. and Mrs. Evans will be , at home to their friends at tne above address.

Veronica Banis Evans of Enfield died Tuesday. She was 88.
She was born in Hudson, Mass.
She was an assembler with Anderson Tool before retiring.
She is survived by two sisters, Josephine Smith of Ocean City, Md., and Helena Zaleski of West Hartford. Her husband, Robert Evans, died previously.
Calling time is from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road. Interment will follow at St. Patrick King Street Cemetery, Enfield.

Mrs. Edith Evans Allfrey, 87, of 109 South Perry Street, died at about 10 Saturday morning at the Johnstown Nursing Home, where she had been a patient about two weeks.
Mrs. Allfrey was born in Vienna, NY., on May 27, 1879, the daughter of William and Katherine Saltsman Evans. She was a resident of Johnstown for more than 70 years.
She was the widow of Henry Allfrey Jr., who died in 1957.
Mrs. Allfrey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and was a charter member of the former Mothers Club of the church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Paul N. Wood of Johnstown; one son, Kenneth H. Allfrey of Johnstown; two granddaughters, and one greatgranddaughter.
Services for Mrs. Allfry were held at 2 this afternoon at the Brown and Ehle Funeral Home, with Rev. Wilmer M. Zuehlke, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church of Schenectady, officiating.
Bearers were Charles W. Stroud. Kenneth H. Richmond, Horace E. Jeffords and Vernon H. Ehle
Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.

JOHNSTOWN — Henry Allfrey Jr., 80, of 109 South Perry street, a pioneer automobile dealer, died Saturday morning following two years, of poor health.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Brown and Ehle funeral home with Rev. Raymond A. Ketchledge of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be at the Prospect Hill Cemetetry, Gloversville.
Born at Sherbourne, NY, Feb. 17, 1876, he was the son of William H. and Marietta Upham Allfrey.
He came to Johnstown at an early age and was married to Edith E. Evan of Gloversville, who survives.
With his brother Edwin Allfrey he opened an automobile salesroom and garage in 1908. located in the rear of the former Sir William Johnson Hotel, in later years he was employed as a machinist by the D. H. and - Manufacturing Co.
Mr. Allfrey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
SURVIVORS BESIDE his wife include a daughter, Mrs. Paul N. Wood, Johnstown; a son, Kenneth H. of Johnstown; two brothers, Edwin U. of Gloversville and Charles E. of Scotia; a sister, Mrs. Constance Birmingham of Sacramento, Calif.; two grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Charles R. Jeans. 48, well known buisness man died at his home, 105 Third avenue yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock, death being caused by cereberal hemmorage which he suffered early the previous evening.
Jeans had heen in the beat of health apparently Wednesday afternoon working about the club diner which he owned in North Main street. When he returned home in the early evening he appeared in his usual health. About 8 o'clock he was suddenly stricken falling into a stupor from which he never recovered.
He was exceptionally well known not only in Gloversville but throughout the county. He was one of the first expert mechanics in the county and was employed for some time by J. H. Danforth, local glove manufacturer.
Three years ago Jean was forced to give up his work with automobiles when his health broke down. He then established the new club diner on North Main street. From the very start the business prospered. Some of his many friends were always to be found in the place.
He was born in Johnstown where he received his early education in the public schools. For the past 15 years he has made his home in Gloversvllle. He was a member of the St. James Lutheran church of this city. He was held in the highest esteem by all his friends because of the splendid qualities he exhibited. He was always just and put into practice all the Christian principles he learned in his home as a boy.
Besides his wife the survivors are his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jeans, of Gloversville and several aunts amd uncles.
The funeral will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. A P. Manwell, pastor of the First Congregational church will officiate. Interment will be made in the Prospect Hill cemetery.

A pretty home wedding took place at noon yesterday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Evans, 105 Third avenue, when their daughter, Nina Katharine, was united in marriage to Charles R. Jeans, also of this city. Promptly at 12 o'clock, the bride and bridegroom descended the stairs and entered the parlor where they were met by Rev. Augustine Parker Manwell, pastor of the Congregational church who performed the ceremony, which was witnessed by only the immediate relatives.
The bride's gown was white silk with overdress of white lace and she carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley. The house was decorated with palms, ferns and cut flowers, the color scheme being green and white. After congraduatlons, a wedding breakfast was served. Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Jeans left by motor car for a brief wedding trip. The latter wore a traveling gown of colored poplin, with hat to match. The bride received many handsome gifts, including furniture, cut glass, silver and- linen.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Jeans are popular in Gloversville and Johnstown where the former reside at one time. Upon their return they will be at home at 105 Third avenue.

After a period of ill health extending over the past two years, Harry Getman Seaman, aged 69, retired carpenter contractor, passed away this morning at 11:40 at his home, 83 East Main street.
He was a lifelong resident of Johnstown, born here November 7, 1879, the son of James A. and Martha (Getman) Seaman. He received his early education in the local schools and also attended Gloversville Business College.
After leaving school he was employed for a number of years by J. R. Newman in Gloversville, proprietor of a men's clothing store.
Shortly before World War I Mr. Seaman and Jewel Horning of Fonda purchased the Barney Galinsky & Sons store in that village and conducted this business until 1930 when the local man disposed of his interest to his partner.
He then went into the carpenter contracting business with his father under the firm name of J. A. Seaman & Son and a number of fine homes throughout the city stand as monuments to his skilled workmanship.
When his father died. Mr. Seaman continued alone until 1946 when obliged to retire on account of his health.
He was a member of the Methodist church, the Official Board and Men's Club of that church and was prominent in church affairs as long as his health permitted.
He was a former member of St Patrick's lodge, 4. F. & A. M. and also Sir William Johnson lodge, 138, K. of P., which has since passed out of existence.
Mr. Seaman was twice married, the first time to Alta Barber in Gloversville, in June. 1904. One son was born, Lawrence Clyde Seaman who died January 13, 1935. On August 17, 1933, he was married to Mrs. Nina K. Jeans in Gloversville, who survives together with two grandsons in this city, and two aunts in Gloversville.
Mr. Seaman was a man of many fine qualities, quiet and reserved in manner, and his passing will be widely mourned.
The body was removed to the Wassung-Brown & Ehle funeral home to be prepared for burial and will be returned tomorrow at 10:30 to the family home where the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2.
The Rev. Frank Jay Reid will officiate and burial will be made in Prospect Hill cemetery,

After the ceremony, the party enjoyed a wedding dinner at the Riverwood Inn, near Schenectady. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Seaman left for a trip through the White Mountains, after which they will take up their residence at 308 South Market street, Johnstown. They will be at home to their friends after September 1.
Mrs. Seaman has been proprietress for some time of the Club Diner on North Main street, and has a wide circle of friends who will extend congratulations and best wishes. Mr. Seaman is a well known contractor in Johnstown and will share with his bride in the well wishes of many friends.

Williamstown, Feb 20 - The funeral of Bert Saltsman was held in the Methodist Church here yesterday and interment was made in Fairview cemetery. Mr. Saltsman the second son of Mr. and Mrs. K. J. Saltsman, residing two miles north of this village died very suddenly Tuesday morning at 4 oclock. He had not complained of feeling ill, in fact, the night before he remarked how well he felt and drove to this village in the evening. He was taken ill about 2 oclock in the morning and lapsed into unconsciousness from which he never rallied, and died about ten hours later. Dr. Crispell was summoned and pronounced his case apoplexy. He was 30 years of age, a hard working industrious young man. He is survived by his widow and three small sons, the oldest only seven years of age, also his parents and two brothers Leon and Earl Saltsman of Herkimer.

Charles Harry Dempewolf, 201 Orvilton Dr., DeWitt died March 5. He was a design draftsman for 27 years with Smith and Caffrey Co. and retired eight years ago.
Mr. Dempewolf was born in Baltimore, Md. and attended DeWitt Community Church. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Busch of Fayetteville; a brother, William A. Dempewolf of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, a niece and two nephews.

HAROLD SALTSMAN died this week in New York City. He was born in the Town of Vienna July 23, 1891, the son of Eugene and Lillian Stebbins Saltsman. He is survived by his parents and four children, Mrs. Jeanette Lyons, Eugene, Robert and Ruth Saltsman of New York.

Oneida - Harold Saltsman, 53, son of Eugene and Lillian Stebbins Saltsman of Stone St., Oneida died Feb. 20, 1946, in New York City, where he was employed by the municipality. He was born July 23, 1891.
Surviving are his parents, four children, Mrs. jeannette Lyons, Miss Ruth, Eugene and Robert Saltsman, all of New York City.
The body will be brought to Oneida for funeral and burial.

NORTH BAY - Mrs. Thomas L (Helen J.) Dixon, of North Bay, died Tuesday at her home after a brief illness.
She married Thomas L. Dixon, October 28, 1918 in Cleveland, N.Y. He died June 8, 1966. She was a former principal of Sylvan Beach-Verona Beach Elementary School until her retirement in 1968. She was a former teacher in local schools Including North Bay and Vienna.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John B. (Rita M ) Moring of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. James E. (Eileen) Terzini of Rome and Mrs. Joseph (Cecelia) Capparelli of Raleigh, North Carolina; two sons, Thomas A. Dixon of Sylvan Beach and Richard J. Dixon of Oneida; one sister, Miss Lucy J. Stone; and one brother Rowell Stone, both of Vienna: 24 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Martin J. Nunn Funeral Home, Inc. Friday at 10 a.m. and from St. John's Church, North Bay at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 24 and 7-9 p.m.

NORTH BAY - Thomas L. Dixon, 62, native and life-long resident of this place, died this morning at his home after a short illness.
The son of Christopher and Eleanor Delahunt Dixon, he was born April 28, 1894. He married the former Helen J. Stone on Oct, 29, 1918, in Cleveland, N.Y. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. John Mertus.
Mr. Dixon was a carpenter and building contractor and built many of the area homes and cottages.
He was a member of St John's Church, North Bay, and its Holy Name Society. He also was a member of the North Bay Volunteer Fire Co.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Miss Rita M, Dixon with the American Red Cross at Sampson AFB, Mrs. James E, Terami, Rome; and Miss H. Cecelia Dixon, Utica; two sons, Thomas A. Dixon Jr., North Bay, and Richard J. Dixon, Sylvan Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Paul J. Meaney, North Bay, and Mrs. John W. Riter, Rutland, Vt, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral services at St. John's Church at North Bay on Monday at 9:30 where a solemn requiem high Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St, John's Cemetery.
Friends may can at his late home on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Marriage Notes for Rita M Dixon and John B Moring

Miss Rita M. Dixon and Dr. John B. Moring were married at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22. at St. John's Church, North Bay.
The bride, daughter of Mrs. Thomas L. Dixon. North Bay, and the late Mr. Dixon, was escorted by her brother, Thomas A. Dixon.
The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. John E. Moring. Fort Wayne, Ind., and the late Mr. Moring.
The couple will reside in San Antonio. Tex., where Dr. Moring,
recently retired from the Army Medical Corps, is on the staff at San
Antonio State Chest Hospital.
The former Miss Dixon recently resigned from the American Red Cross after serving as a field director in its program of service to military hospitals. She was assigned to military installations in the eastern area of the United States and various military hospitals overseas.
Attending the bride was Miss Diane M. Dixon as maid of honor, and the Misses Lisa Moring and Cecilia Capparelli as bridesmaids.
John B. Moring Jr. was best man for his father.
Guests were seated by the Misses Caroline Capparelli, Patti Dixon, Maureen Terzini and Kathy Dixon.
Altar boys were Richard Dixon, James Capparelli, Thomas Dixon and James P, Terzini.
