  Thomas E, Burns, 52, Litchfield, relative of several Romans, died Wednesday at his home after an illness of several years.
  Born Oct. 13, 1906, in Town of Wilmurt, he was the son of Thomas and Susan Richard Burns. He and Gertrude Metzger were married in Herkimer Nov. 10, 1934.
  A farmer, he lived in the Cedarville area most of his life.
  Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Miss Charlotte Burns, at home; step mother, Mrs. Myrtle Burns, Rome; seven sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Rossi, Rome; Mrs. Margaret Andrews Gouverneur; Mrs. Nancy Healy, Carthage; Mrs. Harriet Burnside, Carthage; Mrs. Dorothy Russell, Fishers Landing; Mrs. Elizabeth Cady, South Trenton and Mrs. Mary King, Herkimer; a step sidter, Mrs. Helen Palmer, Canastota; four brothers, Francis, Harry, William and John, all of Rome.
  Funeral services will be held at 2 Saturday at the Wilcox Funeral Home, West Winfield. Interment will be in Cedarville Cemetery.

 - Obituary (The Otsego Farmer & Republican, Cooperstown, NY, February, 27)
  Mrs. Carrie E. Palmer, aged 62, of Richfield Springs died Thursday, February 20, at her home after a long illness. She was born September 7, 1901, in Richfield Springs, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Walsh) Jacobson. She attended Richfield Springs High School and the Utica School of Commerce. In 1937, she was married to Stanley E. Palmer of Richfield Springs. For several years, Mrs. Palmer was a secretary in the law office of the late W. T. Welden in Richfield Springs. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband; her father; one son, Willard of Utica; two daughters, Miss Anne Louise and Miss Mary Frances Palmer, both at home; three sisters, Miss Anna Jacobson of Utica, Miss Marian Jacobson of New York City and Mrs. Frances Walrath of Chester, Pa. ... Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. The Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

  Stanley E. Palmer, 72, died Thursday 12/8/1966 at the Herkimer Memorial Hospital. He was born in Richfield 6/8/1894, a son of Curtis & Nettie Palmer. He married Carrie Jacobsen of Richfield Springs in 1937. He was employed by NY Central railroad as a conductor until his retirement.
  He leaves a son Willard C. Palmer of Whitesboro, 2 daughters, Miss Anne Palmer of Richfield Springs, Mrs Bernard (Frances) Hanagan of Balston Spa, and 2 grandchildren. Funeral was Saturday at St John's Episcopal Church with burial at St Joseph's Cemetery.

Ruth Emma Bedford

  ARLINGTON - Ruth Emma Bedford Watts, 94, a caring and giving wife, mother and grandmother, died tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, peacefully in her sleep at home with her daughter in Arlington.
  Memorial Service: 3 p.m. March 28, 1999, at the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington. Burial: Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion, N.Y.
  Ruth Watts was born Feb. 8, 1905 in Tilson, Ulster County, N.Y. to Edward Bedford and Mary Oakley Christiana Bedford. She was the wife of Carlton Newth Watts who passed away Feb. 2, 1966.
  She was an alumnae of Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., class of 1927; an honorary member of the American Association of University Women; past president of the Utica Skidmore College Alumnae Club; the Utica B Sharp Musical Club and past president of teh Lake Pleasant/Sacandaga Association.
  During WW II she was a military Grey Lady, a branch of the American Red Cross and Civilian Defense Director of Whitestown, N.Y. For many years she was chior director and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Whitesboro, N.Y.
  After moving to Texas in 1974m she became a meber and chior member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington. She was loved very much and will be missed by all that knew her.
  Mrs. Watts' wishes were respected by the donation of he rremains to the Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.
  Survivors: Son, Carlton Bedford Watts of Flower Mound; daughter, Sara Ann Watts Hardter of Arlington; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; foru strp-great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
