  FORT PLAIN — Everett Eckler, 68, of 19 State St., Fort Plain, died late last night at Little Falls Hospital where he had been a patient for the past four weeks. Born Sept. 27, 1895, in Herkimer County, a son of George and Florence Casler Eckler, he was a carpenter by trade. Survivors, besides his wife, include six sons, William and Robert of Miami, Fia., LeRoy of Herkimer, Victor of Fort Plain and Donald and Glen at home; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Kneeskern of Nelliston and Denise at home; five brothers. Stanley and Victor of Fort Plain and Howard. Harry and Kenneth of Nellislon; three sisters. Mrs. De Forest Phillips and Mrs. Frank Spraker of Fort Plain and Mrs. William Gros of Nelliston. Funeral services are incomplete. For further information call Swartz Funeral Home in Fort Plain.

  FORT PLAIN. July 22 - Findings of authorities probing the causes of the airplane crash here Wednesday that brought death to Mrs. Wayne Hendershott, Mrs. Alan Schell and Everett Sanders, all of this village, will not be made public for some time although the probe is practically completed, officials said.
  Federal Inspector Willard B. Blaine of Syracuse who has been here since the tragedy, has completed his scrutiny of the details and will report his findings to the government shortly. Any public announcement of causes of the crash will be made by the air bureau, he said.
  Coroner Clark Congdon announced he will hold an inquest but has set no date for the hearing as yet.
  Sanders, the pilot of the ill-fated plane, leaves his mother, his wife and five children. He was taught to fly nine years ago by Victor Rickard who was then teaching at the Schenectady airport, he also is survived by a brother, Arnold Sanders of Danube, Herkimer county.
  Services for Sanders will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Catherine Nellis memorial chapel, Rev. Mr. Miller of St. Johnsville will officiate and burial will be in Fort Plain cemetery.
  Services for Mrs. Hendershott were held this afternoon at the home of her mother, Mrs. John Hazel of Lynn, Mass. Interment was in Pine Grove cemetery at Lynn. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Hendershott, her mother and one sister of Lynn.
  Funeral rites for Mrs. Pearl Schell, third victim of the plane crash, were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Everett Eckler of Nelliston. Interment was in Inghams Mills cemetery.

  FORT PLAIN - Victor H. Eckler, 66, of RD 2, proprietor of the New American Hotel until it burned last September and operator of a taxi company, died April 24 in Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.
  He was born at Indian Castle. He had operated a public taxi business from 1920 to 1946 when he went into the hotel management business. After the hotel burned, he returned to tha taxi firm.
  Besides his wife, Helen, he leaves a daughter, Miss Maude Eckler. a student at the State University of New York at New Paltz; two sons, Victor Jr., Fonda, and Crawford, at home; four brothers. Stanley and Kenneth, both of Fort Plain; Harry, Nelliston, and Howard, Fort Plain, and three sisters, Mrs. De Forest Phillips and Mrs. Frank Spraker, both of Fort Plain, and Mrs. William Gros, Nelliston
  The funeral will be at 10 tomorrow from the Swartz Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Russell Bales, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.

After the ceremony they left for a wedding trip in the eastern part of the state. Upon their return they will reside in Nelliston.

  CANAJOHARIE — Mrs. Helen K. Berrian, 54, Sprakers RD, was killed in an automobile accident on Route 162 Sunday evening.
   Mrs. Berrian was born in Fonda Dec. 20, 1923, the daughter of William and Maude Schultz Kneaskern. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Giordono, Hollywood,
Fla.; one son, Crawford Eckler, U.S. Army, Fort Benning, Ga.; five sisters, Mrs. Fred Krohn, Millpoint, N.Y., Mrs. Elizabeth Hime, Mrs. Regina Northover, both of Summerfield, Fla., Mrs. Edna Sorval, Fort Plain, Mrs. Margaret Kane, Groton, Conn.; one brother, Crawford Kneaskern, Randall, three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Houghtaling Funeral Home, Inc. John Lehman, lay person of the Jehovah Witness Church, Nelliston, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Canajoharie Falls Cemetery at a later date.
   Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

  Mrs. Leona Eckler, 90, of Fort Plain, died Friday afternoon. Sept. 8, at Wilkinson Residential Facility. Amsterdam, where she had been a resident since June.
  Mrs. Eckler was bom Dec. 31, 1904, in Ephratah, the daughter of Adam G. and May Gray Swartz. On June 10, 1925, she was married to Stanley Eckler. He died in 1979.
  She had been employed at Beech-Nut Lifesavers Corp., Canajoharie, retiring in 1969.
  Mrs. Eckler was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Plain, the Order of the Eastern Star, Otsquago Chapter #297 since 1939, former member of Business and Professional Women and first charter member of Canajoharie Country Club
  Survivors include one daughter. Mrs. Janet Bronk of Fort Plain; one grandson, Alan Cunningham of Ballston Spa; two granddaughters; Lynn Cunningham Young of Saratoga Springs and Kalee Nichols of Fort Plain; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
  Funeral service was Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Gray Funeral Home, Fort Plain, the Revs. Kenneth Dingman and Adrian Gray co-officiating. Burial was in Fort Plain Cemetery.
  Calling hours were Monday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home.

  FORT PLAIN — Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Eckler observed their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at their home on 26 Lydius street, Fort Plain, June 8, hosted by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bronk and family, also of Fort Plain.
  Stanley Eckler, Nelliston, and Miss Leona Swartz, Fort Plain, were married June 10, 1925, in the parsonage of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Plain, by the Rev. Clarence A. Schaertel, pastor of the church.
  The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Eckler, brother and sister-in-law of the bridegroom.
  In addition to their daughter, Mrs. Bronk, the couple has three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
  Mrs. Eckler was employed by Beech-Nut Packing Company and its successor companies for 45 years prior to her retirement in 1970. Her husband retired the same year after being associated for many years with H. L. Champney and Currier Buick Sales and Hanifin PontiacBuick, Nelliston.
  Both Mr. and Mrs. Eckler are members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Mrs. Eckler is a past matron of Otsquago Chapter No. 297, Order of the Eastern Star, and is a charter member and past president of the Mohawk Valley Business and Professional Women. She also is a charter member of the Canajoharie Country Club.
  The couple cut a decorated anniversary cake at the open house and received many flowers, gifts and cards from friends, neighbors and relatives.

  Mr. and Mrs. Harry G. Eckler, 5 School street, Nelliston, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at a party Friday evening in the VFW Home, Fort Plain, with their daughter. Miss Nancyjean Eckler, members of the couple's wedding party, relatives and friends. A buffet supper was served and Mr. and Mrs. Ecklar cut a decorated anniversary cake. Mr. and Mrs. Eckler received many gifts and a purse of money. Elizabeth Hewitt, Philadelphia, N. Y., and Harry G. Ecklar, Nelliston, wore married July 3, 1930, by the Rev. C. R. Hamilton, pastor of the Fort Plain Baptist Church. The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ecklar, brother and sister-in-law of the bridegroom, while the flower girl was a niece of the bridegroom, Janet Eckler, now Mrs. Robert Bronk. A photograph of the 1930 wedding party was displayed Friday night.

  Kenneth D. Eckler, 53, died Sunday in St. Mary's Hospital at Amsterdam, where he had been a patient two days. He resided at 36 Willett Street.
  Born in Nelliston, Mr. Eckler was a lifetime resident of the Nelliston-Fort Plain area. He was employed by the Hanifin Pontiac Buick Sales of Nelliston.
  Mr. Eckler was a veteran of World War II. His wife was the late Mrs. Doris Leip Eckler.
  Survivors include two sons, Randy and Ronald Eckler; four daughters, Lori Ann, Connie and Bonnie Eckler, all at home, and Mrs. Shirley Anderson of Williamstown, Mass; three brothers, Harry Eckler of Nelliston, Howard Eckler of Fort- Plain RD 2 and Stanley Eckler of Fort Plain. Three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Spraker, Mrs. Effa Philips, both of Fort Plain, and Mrs. Alma Gros of Nelliston; a grand-daughter, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

  Mrs. Doris Eckler, 45, died yesterday morning at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for five days. She was born March 12. 1917, in Nelliston, the daughter of Lewis and Ruby Huntley Leip, and had resided in that vicinity all her life.
  Mrs. Eckler attended the Nelliston school and was graduated from the Fort Plain High School. On Dec. 8, 1944 she was married to Kenneth Eckler, who survives her. Other survivors include three daughters, Lori Ann, Connie and Bonnie; two son, Randy and Ronald, all residing at home; and three aunts.
  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Swartz funeral home, with the Rev. Theodore Warren, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Plain Cemetery in the spring.

Wyrtwnl, St. Johnsville, has issued a verdict of accidental death by suffacation in the sudden death of Sandra Eckler, two month old daughter of Kenneth and Doris Leip Eckler. which occurred in Nelliston, Monday July 21, 1947. Private funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 at the Swartz funeral home in Fort Plain, with the Rev. Herbert H. Mahl, of St Paul's Lutheran church, officiating. Burial was in Fort Plain cemetery.
