  Herkimer — Vernon F. House, 70, of 207 Stimson St., died yesterday in his home. Herkimer County Coroner Gilbert Upright ruled death was due to natural causes.
  He was born in the Town of Stark. He married Ida M. Sickier in Starkville in 1920. They lived in Little Falls until coming here in 1955. Mrs. House died in 1964.
  Mr. House was employed by the H. P. Snyder Manufactureing Co. until retiring in 1950.
  He leaves a son, Russell of Herkimer.
  The funeral will be at 1:30 Saturday from the Fenner Funeral Home with the Rev. James W. Benes, pastor of Mohawk Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Van Hornesville Cemetery.
  Calling hours are from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow.

  HERKIMER - Mrs. Ida M. House, 64, of 207 Stimson St., a former resident of Little Falls, died yesterday in her home.
  She was born in the Town of Richfield, daughter of Alexander and Florence Strait Sickler. She was married to Vernon House in 1920. She came to Herkimer in 1955.
  Besides her husband, she leaves a son Russell, Herkimer, two brothers, Leon Sickler, Fords Bush and Albert Sickler, South Ilion, four sisters, Mrs. Louis (Cora) Warner, Mohawk; Mrs. Bessie Betsford, Indian Castle; Mrs. Orson (Helen) Hawks, Fords Bush, and Mrs. Judson (Iva) Hawks, Little Falls.
  The funeral will be at 1:30 tomorrow from the Fenner Funeral Home with the Rev. James W. Benes, pastor of the Mohawk Reformed Church officiating. Burial will be in Van Hornesville Cemetery.

  ONEIDA — Services for Walter F Freeman, 74, of Cooper Street, Westmoreland, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Owens Funeral Home, 35 College St., Clinton. Friends may call from 3 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home
  Mr. Freeman died Sunday at Rome and Murphy Memorial Hospital after a short illness He was born in the Town of Columbia, July 7, 1894, son of Harvey and Eliza Schroeppel Freeman He married Wava Day Dec 14, 1914, in Oneida. The couple resided in Westmoreland for the last 41 years.
  He attended school at Getman Corners and graduated from the Utica School of Commerce in 1911. Mr Freeman was employed by the Munnsville Plow Co from 1912 to 1928. He worked for the Westmoreland Maleable Iron Co. He retired in 1960.
  Mr Freeman was a member of the Westmoreland United Methodist Church and Hampton Lodge 247, F&AM. Westmoreland, of which he was treasurer
  Mr. Freeman was a charter member and secretary treasurer of the Westmoreland Fire Department and had been president or vice president of the West Landers since its organization. Mr. Freeman was a charter member of American Legon Post 54, Munnsville and past officer of the Odd Fellows of Munnsville. He served in the Army during World War I.
  He leaves his wife and a son Russell Freemen of New Harford; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Utley of Fulton, and a sister, Mrs. Earle Robertson, of Mohawk.

  WESTMORLAND - Mrs. Wara[sic] Freeman, 81, of Cooper Street, died yesterday in Lee Memoorial Hospital, Fulton, after a long illness.
  She was born in Stockbridge, daughter of Alvin and Cora Bradley Day, and attended Munnsville Union School. In 1914 she was married to Walter F. Freeman in Oneida. The couple had lived in Westmorland fo 40 years. Mr. Freeman died in 1969.
Mrs. Freeman was a member of Westmorland United Methodist Church, Westmorland OES, Westmorland Firemans Auxilary, the Westlanders and was a past member of the Rebeckas in Munnsville.
  She leaves a son, Russell L. New Hartford, a daughter, Mrs. Roy Eloise Cooper, Fulton; a brother, Irving Day, Home.
  The funeral will be at 10 Saturday from the Owens Funeral Home, Clinton with burial in Stockbridge Cemetery.

  Mrs. Myrtle Bacher, 58, died Thursday, February 16 in Herkimer had been a patient for a little over a week. She had undergone surgical treatment there, and had also suffered a heart condition.
  Mrs. Bacher was born in St. Johnsville on September 14, 1897 daughter of Peter and Lavina Hillegas Wagner. Her marriage to S. Earl Bacher took place on February 8, 1917, in St. Johnsville, with the Rev. B. E. Flake of the Lutheran Church officiating. Mr. Bacer died September 17, 1954. Mrs. Bacher attended the Methodist Church.
  She is survived by one daughter , Mrs. Thelma Pratt, and two sons, Earl and Corliss, all of Little Falls, one sister, Mrs. Lena Crouse, St. Johnsville, four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
  The funeral was Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the home at 64 Petrie Street, Little Falls with Rev. Robert U. Holmes, pastor ef the Little Falls Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Inghams Mills Cemetery.

  MOHAWK - Clifford Barger, age 83, of 27 Walnut St., died Sunday, December 20, 1987.
  He was born on July 10, 1904, in Richfield Springs, the son of Charles and Clara Wiers Barger. On June 1, 1929. he was married to Alice Bacher in Little Falls. Mr. Barger was employed at Sperry Rand UNIVAC for 50 years, retiring in 1969. He was also a member of the Sperry Rand 25 Year Club.
  Survivors include his wife, Alice; two daughters, Mrs. John (Lillian) Gaherty and Susan Barger, both of Mohawk; one son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Virginia Barger, of Balston Lake, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
  Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Applegate Funeral Home, llion. Calling hours are Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9.

  Mrs. Compton was born April 5, 1900, in Merideth Square, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Kimbel) Gage. she was married to James L. Compton on September 25, 1920 at Oneonta. A housewife, Mrs. Compton had resided in the Oneonta area for 61 years.
  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oneonta.
  Surviving are her husbane; a son Charles W. Compton of Grenada, Miss.; one daughter, Mrs. Leland (Beverly) Graves of Oneonta; six grandchildren; a brother, Harold Gage of Oneonta; a sister, Mrs. Edna Oliver of Oneonta, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
  Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, with the Rev. Raimund Tumbelstone, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
