ILION — Dominick P. Putch, 58, of 89 Btarringer Rd., a machine setter for Remington Arms Co. many years, died yesterday in St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital Center, Utica.
Born in Italy, he married Myrtle Hunt in 1927 in Mohawk. An Ilion resident the past 35 years, he was a member of the Church of Annunciation, its Holy Name Society and the 25-Year Club of the Remington Arms.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Miss Mary Putch, Cranston, R.I; two sons, Dominick J., and Richard I., both of Ilion; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Lorango, North Tonawanda; Mrs. Dora Culchara, Rochester, and Mrs. Nora Gillette, Frankfort; two brothers, Joseph, of Frankfort, and James of Herkimer.

Services for Glenn E. Cook Sr., 77, of 833 E. Brighton Ave., who died Wednesday at State University Hospital after a short illness, will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Goddard and Crandall Funeral Home, the Rev. Albert W. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Cook was employed as an operating engineer for 26 years with Bond Bakery, retiring in 1964. Mr. Cook was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 11. He was a communicant of All Saints Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lena Cole; a son, Jack A. Sr. of Westvale; a brother, Howard of Cooperstown; four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Glenn E. Cook, Jr., passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at his home. He was 92. Glenn was born on July 31, 1921 in Otcego County, New York, N. Y. to Glenn E. and Anna Pate Cook, Sr. He was a WWII Navy veteran and a retired engineer for Tennessee Gas Pipe Line. He is preceded in death by his foster parents, Melvin and Belle Tigert.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Nelma E. Cook.
Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2014 from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Alice Cemetery

MOHAWK — Mrs Agnes Kaples, 68, formerly of 12 Otsego St., died Saturday in the Blossom Nursing Home, Rochester, where she had been a patient for the last four years.
She was born March 1, 1904 in Mohawk, the daughter of James and Edith Caple Boss. She wasmarried to Raymond Kaples in Mohawk. Mr. Kaples died several years ago. Mrs. Kaples had lived in Mohawk many years before moving to Rochester.
She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Edith Quigley, Rochester, and one son Raymond Kaples, San Antonio. Tex.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 this afternoon at the Burns-Richer Funeral Home, Herkimer. Intement was in Mohawk Cemetery.

Mohawk—Raymond Kaples, 52, of 12 S. Otsego St., died Jan. 24, 1947 at his home following a month’s illness.
He was born July 18, 1894 in the town of German Flatts, a son of Jay and Ella Bodrie Kaples. He attended local schools and had been employed for the past 28 years as an assembler by the Martin Automatic Fishing Reel Co. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Mohawk Fish & Game Club.

Mr. and Mrs. George McGinley were called to Mohawk last week by the death of their son-in-law, Raymond Kaple, which occurred Friday at his home in that village. Funeral services were conducted from the home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Ilion, Janice L. Gregg, 69 of Forge Hill Estate, Ilion, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 1986)
She was born December 20, 1926, in Ilion, the daughter of Harry and Susan Jarvis Eckler. She attended Ilion schools and Utica College. She married Palmer Gregg. He passed away in 1980. Mrs. Gregg was a member of St. Augustine's Church, the Order of eastern Star Chapter #82, the Ilion Garden Club, Ilion Historical Club, Mohawk Valley General Hospital Guild and the Cedar Lake Club.
Mrs. Gregg is survived by two sons, Palmer, of Ilion and Robert of Florida; a brother, Robert Eckler, of Baldwinsville, a sister Mrs. William (Shirley) Meehan, of Ilion; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Phyllis Jonas.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday from teh Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, with interment in Armory Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 Friday. Frinds are asked to consider memorials to their favorite charities.

Ilion—Miss Phyllis Jane Eckler, daughter of Mrs. Harry Eckler, 56 Third St., and Donald George Jonas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin G. Jonas, 250 E. Main, Frankfort, were married this afternoon in SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Frankfort, by the Rev. Joseph Greismer, assistant pastor.
White Fall flowers decorated the church. Miss Clara Burdick sang “Ave Maria” and “On This Day Oh, Beautiful Mother."
Miss Shirley Eckler, twin sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Mrs. Palmer W. Gregg, another sister of the bride, was matron of honor.
Best man was Harold W. Jonas, brother of the bridegroom and ushers were Palmer W. Gregg, Ilion, and Earl Hughes, Frankfort.
The bride wore a floor length princess line gown of French faille. The widely gored skirt fell over a bouffant stiffened petticoat. The hipline was swathed with loops of nylon tulle forming a streamered bustle in the back. Nylon tulle edged the low decolletage. A brief bolero was fashioned with long sleeves and a standing collar Her double flange, finger-tip veil was of imported illusion and fell from a French faille helmet.
Miss Eckler was given in marriage by her brother, Robert J. Eckler, Baldwinsville.
The attendants gowns were fashioned with velveteen bodices edged with tulle and bouffant tulle skirts caught with velveteen roses. Matching velveteen stoles and head wreaths completed their costumes. The matron of honor wore winterberry wine and the maid of honor leaf gold.
The bride carried a white prayer book with white orchid marker and streamers of white baby pompons. The attendants flowers were Colonial bouquets of mixed mums.
A reception was held in the Ilion Elks Club following the church ceremony. Following a wedding trip to the New England States, the couple will live at 56 Third St., Ilion.
The bride is a graduate of Ilion High School and is employed as an operator by the New York Telephone Co., in the Ilion office. The bridegroom graduated from Frankfort High School and Alfred University. He owns and operates the Jonas Oil Co. He served with the U. S. Air Corps for 4 years, three of which were in the African theater during World War 2.

InaMae Clevelan, 56, of Oshkosh died Sunday, Nov. 20, 1994 in Mercy Medical Cemeter. She was born in Ilion, New York on Nov. 30, 1937 the daughter of Russell Ray and Dorothy Irene Wheeler Edick. InaMae married Theodore Cleveland on Nov. 10, 1956 in Las Vegas, NV. He preceeded her in death on Aug 11, 1990. Mrs. Cleveland had been the manager of the Captain's Cove Apartments until her retirement.
Survivors include two sons, Karl and Joe Cleveland both of Oshkosh; five daughters, Lori (Rob) Wilcum of Fond du Lac, Karen (Dennis) Fischer of Juneau, Judy (Mark) Resop of Oshkosh, Dorothy (Joe) Reinke of Oshkosh, Sue (Blaine) Harries of Waukesha; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The funeral service will be Wed. Nov. 23, 1994 at 1:00 PM at the Kontad-Behlman Funeral Home (Waugoo Ave.) with the Rev. eugene Rapp officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Wed. from noon to the time of service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
