MOHAWK - George H. Garlock, 69, Pine Bush Road, died Thursday in the Herkimer Memorial Hospital.
He was born in llion. He married Lottie Brown.
He was employed by the State Highway Department for 35 years and had lived in the Mohawk area all his life. He attended the Mohawk Methodist Church.
Besides his wife he leaves, three daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Marion) Huckabone, Ilion, Mrs. John (Pearl) Miller, Mohawk and Mrs Charles (Ruby) Willougby, Middleville and two sons. John of Fairfield and Robert of Herkimer.
The funeral will be at 2:30 Sunday from the Graves-Applegate Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mohawk Cemetery.

MOHAWK — Mrs. Bessie M. Lawler, 65, of 820 Catherine St., Utica, former Mohawk resident and widow of Augustus Lawler, died yesterday in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Center, Utica.
Mrs. Lawler was born in Mohawk, a daughter of George and Nettie Capleis Hunt and attended Mohawk Schools. She was manried to Mr. Lawler in 1922 in Little Falls. He died in 1965.
Mrs. Lawler had lived in Utica for 24 years. She was a member of Assembly of God Church.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. James (Marion) Lesniak, Mrs. Robert (Bessie) Aiken and Mrs. Paul (Lillian) Tobin; all of Utica: seven sons, Augustus (Raymond), Painesville, Ohio: Clarence, Whitesboro and William, Albert, James, Arthur and Robert, all of Utica; three sisters. Mrs. Lulu Schuyler, Frankfort; Miss Myrtle Hunt. Youngstown, Ohio and Miss Elva Hunt, Utica: two brothers, Leo Hunt, Utica and William Hunt, Mohawk.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday from the Quinn Ryan Funeral Home. Utica, with burial in New Forest Cemetery next spring.

Augustus Lawler, 79, of 313 Mohawk St., died yesterday in St. Luke's-Memorial Hospital Center.
He was born in LaSalle, Ill.
He married Bessie Mae Hunt, in 1922 in Little Falls. He later resided in Mohawk, where he was a farmer, and, for the last 20 years, in Utica.
He attended the Assembly of God Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. James (Marian) Lesniak, Mrs. Robert (Bessie) Aiken and Mrs. Paul (Lillian) Tobin, all of Utica; seven sons, Augustus Raymond of Painesville, Ohio; Clarenee of Whitesboro, and William, Albert, James. Arthur and Robert, all of Utica.
The funeral will be at 11 Wednesday from the Quinn, Ryan and Nunn FuneralHome with the Rev. William H. Douglas, pastor of Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in New Forest Cemetery.

ILION - Miss Marianne Grace Whitney became the bride of Russell James Hunt at 2 this afternoon in Trinity Lutheran Church, Herkimer, with the Rev. Norman J. Heid, pastor, officiating at the double ring ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Deforest Spencer Whitney, of 261 E. State St. Ilion, are the parents of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. William B. Hunt Sr. of Creek Road, Mohawk. RD 1, are the bridegroom's parents.
Two vases of white gladiolas and chrysanthemums were placed on the altar. Traditional wedding music was played by Patricia Snyder. a friened of the bride's family.
Miss Nancy Whitney was maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Debra Whitney, sister of the bride: Sylvia Panko, cousin of the bride: Hazel Stone and Kathy Soposki, a niece of the bridegroom Melissa Pohliven, was flower girl.
Best man for his brother was George Hunt. Ushers were Lester Hunt, brother of the bridegroom: Metro Soposki. brother-in-law of the bridegroom: Audrey Smith, brother in law of the bridegroom, and Charles Panko Sr., uncle of the bride. Charles Panko Jr., nephew of the bride, was ring hearer.
Given in marriage by her father. the bride wore a full length gown of silk organza over taffeta, fashioned with an empire bodice of peau d'ance lace, long puffed organza sleeves, with wide cuffs of lace ending in bridal points. Her narrow A line skirt featured lace appliqes in fron and a gathered panel in bace, forming a tiny train. A wide border of Peau d'ange lace with scalloped edge trimmed her hemline. Her full length mantilla was edged in the same lace, completing her outfit. She carried an arm bouquet of white carnations, white roses, baby's breath, and streamers of English ivy, tied with long white pique edged satin streamers and love knots.
The maid of honor wore a full-length empire gown of orchid chiffon over taffets, with long puffed sleves and wide cuffs. Satin ribbon in a slightly deeper shade, studded with dasies and orchid centers, encircled her waist, collar and cuffs. He skirt was styled in A-line. Another satin bow, with daisy accents on short streamers, formed her headpiece. She carried a cascade of deep orchid daisy pompons and pale orchid carnations, accented by ivy and long satin streamers.
The bridesmaids and flower girl wore gowns styled like the maid of honors', with the bridesmaids in peach color and the flower girl in orchid. The bridesmaids carried cascades of peach blush daisy pompons, accented with ivy and satin streamers, and the flower girl carried a natural plateau basket of deep orchid daisy pompons and pale orchard carnations, tied with bows and steamers to match the maid of honor.
Following a reception from 3 to 6 pm at the Mohawk American Legion, the couple will travel through the Old Forge area. They will make their home at 111 E. Clark St., upon their return.
The bride was graduated from Ilion High School in 1968 and the Colonna Beauty School of Albany in 1969. She presently owns and operates the Marianne Hairstylist, in Ilion. The bridegroom was graduated from Mohawk Central High School in 1968 and is employed by UNlVAC Division of Sperry Rand in Ilion.
The bride was honored at showers given by the bridegroom's sisters, Mrs. Nancy Maine and Mrs. Betty Smith; by the bride's aunt. Mrs. Mary Zito. Mrs. Helen Stone and Mrs. Alice Crossway; and by Mrs. Ida Cross, also an aunt of the bride.
Wedding guests attended from Michigan. Massachusetts, Virginia, Florida, Indiana, Colorado, Long Island, and Valley Towns.

Mohawk—Word' has been received of the death Sunday night of Mrs. Myrtle Hunt Giester, 37, in Youngstown, O.
She was born in this village on Feb. 14, 1915. Besides her husband, James A. Giester, she leaves one son, James, Jr., both of Youngstown; three brothers, Leo Hunt, Utica; William Hunt, Paines Hollow, and Irving Hunt, Denison Corners; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Lawler, Utica, and Mrs. Lulu Schuyler, Frankfort, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow in Youngstown, with burial in that city.

Frankfort—Mrs. Daisy M. Passage, 51, of 113 Frankfort St, died Feb. 26, 1953, in the Ilion Hospital after an illness of several months.
Mrs. Passage was bom Apr. 16, 1901 at Millers Mills, a daughter of Nelson and Ida Kaples Hagedorn. She married Leon Passage in 1934 in West Winfield.
Mrs. Passage was employed for a time at the Duofold Plant in Mohawk. She lived in Cedarville most of her life, moving to Frankfort two years ago.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.

MRS. C. VAN VALKENBERG
Mrs. Evana Van Valkenberg, aged 58, of Richfield Springs, died Tuesday of last week in Herkimer Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for a week.
She was born October 12, 1900,in Herkimer the daughter of Burt and Carrie Worden) Hunt. She attended schools in Herkimer and Jordanville.
On April 15 1915 she was married to Clyde Van Valkenberg of Warren and the town of Columbia. The couple had resided in Richfield Springs since that time. Mrs. Van Valkenberg was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Besides her husband and mother in Richfield Springs, she is survived by two sons, Russell of Mohawk; Irving of Oneida; one daughter, Miss Eleanor Van Valkenberg of Schenectady, one brother, Lester Hunt of Richfield Springs; one sister Mrs. Dominick Putch of Ilion; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday from McGrath Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daniel T. Hills rector of St. Johns Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial was in Jordanville Cemetery.
