  Elba Kinskern of Hyndsville died at his home July 30, after a long illness.
  He was born March 15, 1902, a son of Millard and Mary Jane Bell Kniskern. His wife is the former Miss Grace McKee.
  Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m., in the Mereness Funeral Home, Cobleskill. The Rev. Victor Zaccaro officiated and interment was in Cobleskill Cemetery.
  Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Reginald Clay of Richmondville; two sons, Robert and Michael at home; a sister, Mrs. Morris Foland of Dorloo; five brothers, Bert of Greenfield, Mass., Wesley of Schenectady, Ora and Charles of Seward and William of Cobleskill. Several nieces and nephews also survive

  COBLESKILL — Funeral services were held Tuesday for Elba Kniskern, 68, of Hyndsvllle, who died Saturday at his home after a long illness.
   The services were held in the Mereness funeral home, Cobleskill.
Mr. Kniskern was born in Seward.
   Survivors, are his wife, Mrs. Grace McKee Kniskern; a daughter, Mrs. Reginald Clay, Richmondville; two sons, Robert and Michael Kniskern, Cobleskill; a sister, Mrs, Morris Foland, Dorloo; five brothers, Bert Kniskern, Greenfield, Mass.; Wesley Kniskern, Schenectady; Ora and Charles Kniskern, Seward; William Kniskern, Cobleskill; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

  SWEET, Inis Margaret 98, went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Sunday, May 22, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark (Newt) W. Sweet, Jr. and is survived by her brother, Wesley Smith and sister-in-law, Patricia of Republic, MO; son Glen, daughter, Bonnie Coloross and son-in-law, Jim; daughter-in-law Linda; three grandsons; two granddaughters-in-law; seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom she deeply loved. Sister Sweet was a devout Christian who lived her faith every day and was affiliated with the Assemblies of God. As an influential member of her churches, she taught Sunday school, was a Wednesday Night Quilter, and surrounded herself with other Christians, like her friends, Lucille Womble and Amanda Hampton. When not caring for stray animals, her free time was spent studying Biblical texts and eating anything sweet. Her family and friends will miss her and look forward to meeting her in the sweet bye and bye. A visitation will take place Thursday June 5, from 1-2 pm at Stowers Funeral Home, with funeral services starting at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.

Ervilie B. Maynard, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. The bridegroom's sister, Miss Mary Luther, sang.
   The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a pink afternoon frock with white hat trimmed with pmk flowers. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses Her only attendant was, her sister, Mrs. Kenneth Perrault, who wore blue with navy blue hat and carried pink roses.
   Thomas McCann was best man and Kenneth Perrault and James Weidemann were ushers.
   After a reception in the church parlors. Mr. Luther and his bride left for New York City. They will live at 19A Jay St.
   The bride is a graduate of Albany High School and is with the Travelers Insurance Company. Mr. Luther attended Hartwick College and Wagner College and served with the 33rd Hospital Corps in Europe and Africa. He is a senior at Albany Medical College.

  Eleanor (Luther) Wiedemann, aged 94, died peacefully at her residence in Glenmont on April 24, 2014. She was cared for by her granddaughter who lived with her and predeceased by her husband James who died in 1996.
  Born on July 29, 1919 in Oneonta, NY, she was one of three children of the late Rev. Philip and Daisy (Sweet) Luther. Her family lived in Oneonta and Herkimer before moving to Albany where her father was pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She met her future husband at a square dance during WWII just prior to his active duty service in the US Navy as a Seabee.
  She was a longtime resident of Glenmont where she moved after her marriage in 1946. Eleanor graduated from Albany Business College in 1940 and worked as a secretary for the F.W. Woolworth Company before her marriage.
  Eleanor loved her family and friends, living in the country, and animals of all kinds. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and travel. She and her beloved husband "Jimmy" were both members of the First Reformed Church of Bethlehem where she sang in the choir, served as church secretary, was a member of the consistory, helped to run the food pantry, taught Sunday school and was active in the Women's Guild. She was also a lifetime member of the Town of Bethlehem Historical Association.
  Survivors include her sister, Mary "Kay" McCann of Colonie, daughters, Ellen Kawano (Shinji) and Martha Youngblood, a son, Carl Wiedemann (Laura). She had six grandchildren; James and Kevin Youngblood of Albuquerque, NM, Makoto and Masaki Kawano of Hamilton, Ontario, Kristi Wiedemann of Princeton, NJ, Heidi Wiedemann of Glenmont, and one great granddaughter; Kaitlyn Rice. She also left four nephews and nieces – Jack and Philip Luther, Susan Smith, and Nancy Messercola.

  Harold G. Estes, Sr., 73, Fort Plain RD 3, died unexpectedly last Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, following a short illness.
Born in the Town of Root
   Nov. 20,1907, he was the son of Charles and Erma Lasher Estes. He lived in Fort Plain for four years. Prior to that time he spent his life in the Town of Root.
   Mr. Estes retired in 1970 as a wire inspector after working 27 hears  for the General Electric Co. He was a charter member of the Charleston Historical Society and belonged to the General Electric Quarter Century Club and Charleston Four Corners Christian Church.
   On Oct. 9, 1929, he married the former Mary Crockett, Town of Root, who survives with two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Rose Marie) Nauman, Schenectady and Mrs. Douglas (Kathryn) Smith, Valatie; four sons, Vernon E., Burnt Hills, Robert A., Sprakers RD, Harold G. Jr.. St. Johnsville and Phillip C., Vero Beach, Fla; a brother, Phillip Estes and 17 grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Charleston Four Corners Christian Church with the Rev. Phillip Sears, pastor, officiating. Interment was made in the Charleston Four Comers Cememtery.
   Memorial contribution may be made to the Charleston Four Corners Christian Church.

  Mrs. Mary A. Estes, 86, of Broad Street, Fultonville, died Thursday at her home following a long illness.
   Born May 7, 1911 in Bolton Landing, she was the daughter of George and Grace Pearl Howard Crockett. She moved to Fultonville as a young child and lived in the area since that time.
   She was a homemaker.
   Mrs. Estes was a member of the Charleston Christian Church and was also a member and past president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
   She married Harold G. Estes on Oct. 9, 1929. He died in 1981.
