  Miss Mary Le Barron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Le Barron, 30 Clyde Street, became the bride of William Zemkin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Zemken, Plattsburgh, in a ceremony at 2 Saturday afternoon at Kingdom Hall of Jehova's Witnesses.
 The double ring ceremony, in a setting of flowers, was performed by Robert Gunnesson. Music was provided by Mrs. Beatrice Daily, pianist.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white lace ballerina gown and veil and carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations.
  Miss Margaret Le Barron, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and was attired in a blue ballerina gown of lace over nylon. She wore a white pillbox hat an darried a bouquet of white carnations.
  The bride's mother wore a pink dress with grey lace, a pink pillbox hat and carried a bouquet of white carnations. The bridegroom's mother was attiered in a taffeta flowered dress with a coursage of white carnations.
  The best man was Richard Becker of Johnstown, friend of the bridegroom.
  The bride wore a lavender colored two piece dress and white hat for a going away outfit.
   About 70 guests attended the reception at the home of the bride's parents following the ceremony. Guests were from Plattsburgh,  Gloversville, Johnstown, and surrounding areas.
   The couple will reside in Plattsburgh where the bridegroom is employed as a laboratory worker in the Oneida Chemical Company.
Zemken is a graduate of the Plattsburgh school system. Miss Le Barron attended Estee Junior High School.

  SPRAKERS- Leon Louck Moyer, 57, died early this morning at
Amsterdam Hospital after an illness of six weeks.
   Born March 4, 1899. in Sprakers, he was the son of Elsworth and
Ada Quackenbush Moyer.
   Mr. Moyer worked for New York Central Railroad for 39 years as a mason. He was a lifelong resident of Sprakers.
   He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Ways of N.Y. Central and of the Reformed Church at Sprakers. He was a past member of the consistory of the Sprakers church.
   Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Holms Moyer, Sprakers; one daughter. Miss Beverly Mover, Sprakers; cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Sprakers Reformed Church with the Rev. Robert Groupe, pastor of the Currytown - Sprakers Reformed churches, officiating. Burial will be in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
   Friends may call at the Hougntaling funeral home, Canajoharie, until Friday noon.

  Funeral services were held Friday for Miss Beverly Moyer, 56, of Route 5-S, Sprakers, who died last Wednesday morning at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam, following a long illness.
  The Rev. Keith Lohman officiated at the afternoon services in the Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home Inc., 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie. Burial will be in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
  Memorial contributions may be made to the Sprakers Reformed Church or the Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service.
  Miss Moyer was born in Sprakers on July 22, 1927, the daughter of Leon and Beatrice Holmes Moyer. She graduated from Canajoharie Central High School and was a lifelong resident of the Sprakers area.
  She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at Central National Bank, Canajoharie, and was a member of the Sprakers
Reformed Church.
  Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Beatrice Moyer of Sprakers, and cousins.

  William N. Pyne, 48, an officer of the William Pyne and Sons plumbing firm, died at 2:45 Tuesday afternoon at Roswell Park Memorial Hospital, Buffalo, where he had been a patient for a month. He had been in failing health for several years.
   He was born June 11, 1927, in Gloversville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Nelson Pyne of Meco, who survive. He attended local schools and served in the Merchant Marine during World War II.
   He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the Eagles Lodge. He was a past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge and several years ago was named Elk of the Year. He also served on the house committee.
   Mr. Pyne, who also was active in Boy Scout programs in the city, served as secretary of the plumbing firm.
   Survivors, besides his parents, are: his wife, the former Marjorie Fairbanks; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Little of Boston, and Mrs. Nancy Ryan of Chatham, N.J.; one sister, Mrs. Richard Stahl of Johnstown; a brother, Delbert Pyne of Meco; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Hazel Pyne of Gloversville; five grandsons, several aunts, nieces
and nephews.
   The Elks ritual will be held at 7:30 tomorrow night at the Walrath and Bushouer Funeral Home.

  Mrs. Marion H. Downer, age 97, of Gloversville, died Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville, following a long illness.
  She was born August 6, 1919 in Johnstown, the daughter of Alfred and Julia Anna Warren Moyer. She attended the one room school known as the Scotch Bush School from 1926 – 1933, followed by Knox Junior High School and then graduated from Johnstown High School in 1937.
  On May 29, 1941 she married Dale H. Downer, Sr. who passed away May 20, 1991, just 9 days before they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Fremont Street United Methodist Church. She was a member of the church since 1938 as well as its Wesleyan Circle, the Administrative Council, the former Couples Club (later known as The Fremonters) which Marion and Dale started in 1946. They were the first Presidents of the club and since Dale’s death Marion has served as President several times as well as Vice President, Secretary and also of Sunshine and Publicity and was a Choir Mother for many years.
  For over 50 years Marion was a member of the former Par-Tee Bowling League where she served as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer for many years. She was a member of Concordia Ladies Singing Society, Lions Auxiliary holding offices as President, Vice-President, Sunshine and Tail Twister. She had also been a member of Cayadutta Chapter Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
  In her long lifetime she has worked numerous jobs such as at Johnstown Knitting Mill, the telephone company as an operator, Robison & Smith as a switchboard operator, also as a telephone operator in Marysville and Yuba City, California in 1944. She also worked at St. Thomas Inc. and for 18 years at the Leader Herald as an insertor where she retired from in 1992. She worked as a waitress at Glen’s Restaurant and also worked at the Gloversville Day Nursery.
  Marion is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Rorick and her husband Robert of Gloversville and Lehigh Acres, Florida; her son, Dale H. Downer II and his wife Gail of Mooresville, NC; three grandchildren, Robert A. Rorick II of Gloversville, Joseph M. Rorick of Colorado Springs, CO and Michelle Lynn Downer of Mooresville, NC.
  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by all five of her siblings, Howard Moyer, Katherine Coonley, Dorothy Smith, Olive Pyne and Madolyn Colson.
  Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.

Bevan in the Frmont Street Mrethodist church . The attendants were Miss Madelyn Moyer, sister of the bride and  Myron Devenburgh. They were  presented with personal gifts. Mrs. Dorothy Alvord played an organ  recital as the guests arrived, also the wedding marches.
  Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the bridegroom's home. Miss Nadene Downer, of Jamaica, L. I., sister of the bridegroom had charge of the guest book.
   The newlyweds left later on a honeymoon trip and after June 2 will be at home at 313 West Main street, Johnstown.
   The bride was graduated from Johnstown High School, class of  '37,
and attended the Gloversville Business School. She is employed at the
Triangle Finishing Co. in Johnstown. The bridegroom graduated from Gloversville High School, class of '33 and the Beutley School of Accounting and Finance at Boston. He is employed as bookkeeper
with the A. F. Peters Oil Co., Inc.

  Miss Carol Ann Downer was honored at a surprise variety shower given Monday night by her aunt, Mrs. Dorothy Smith, at her home, North McNab Avenue.
   The color scheme was yellow, white and green. A large white umbrella decorated with spring flowers hung from the ceiling.
   A special decoration was a set of miniature stairs made by Miss Downer's uncle, Harold T. Smith and decorated with a bride and her attendants which included a maid of honor, five bridesmaids and a flower girl. These were made by Miss Downer's aunt and all were attired in the colors they will wear at the actual wedding.
   Games were played and prizes awarded. A buffet lunch was served to about 20 relatives and friends. Miss Downer was presented with a number of gifts.
   Miss Downer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale H. Downer Sr., 23 Fourth Avenue, will be married to Robert A. Rorick, son of Mrs. Helen Rorick, 7 Division Street, and the late William Rorick, on July 5 at the Fremont Street United Methodist Church.

  FULTONVILLE — Miss Gail M. Hazzard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ward D. Hazzard of Fultonville, became the bride of Dale H. Downer II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale H. Downer of 23 Fourth Avenue, Gloversville, at a candlelight ceremony at 7 Friday night at Fremont Street United Methodist Church, Gloversville.
   Rev. Luther A. Patton, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony and ministered the Sacrament of Holy Communion upon the bride and bridegroom. Arrangements of white gladioli and mums and candelabra proviaed a background for the marriage rites.
   Mrs. Marguerite Huizing, organist, played pre-wedding selections: "Cantilene," Rheinberger, "Cantilene Nuptial," Dubois, "When Thou Art
Near," Bach, "Sicilienne." Paradis, and "How Great Thou Art," Swedish'. The processional, "The Bridal March," Wagner, and the recessional, "The Wedding March," Mendelssohn, were played during the ceremony.
   The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white venise lace and satin gown over taffeta and a lace-edged and appliqued mantilla from an open pillbox. The gown, worn over taffeta, was designed with an all lace bodice, and a high-rise neckline, ring collar, long puffed sleves ending in cuffs, a fitted waist and satin A-line skirt adorned with a scallop-lace border at the hemline. She carried a cascade bouquet of white mums and baby's breath with a corsage of blue-tinted mums at the canter.
  Mrs. Robert Rorick of  Gloversville, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. Miss Sue Whipple and Miss Dawn Stevens, both of Fultonville, classmates of the bride, were bridesmaids.
   The honor attendant and bridesmaids were identically attired in Bermuda blue Empire A-line gowns designed with embroidery trim on the mandarin collars, on the cuffs of the sleeves and outlining the watteau  trains. They wore half crowns of matching velvet ribbon and bows with shoulder-length veils.
   The matron of honor carried a cascade bouquet of light blue and pink tinted mums with white satin streamers. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of varigated pink mums with white satin streamers.
   Robert A. Rorick of Gloversvlle was best man for his brother-in-law. Ushers were Richard W. Hazzard of Fultonville, brother of the bride, Richard Robbins II of Elnora, Saratoga County, and John F. Nelli of Gioversville.  
   The mother of the bride wore a silver brocade A-line dress with long sleeves and rhinestone trim on the collar and cuffs. She wore a pillbox of soft, blue velvet flowers and veiling and silver accessories. Her corsage was of blue tinted mums with silver leaves and ribbon.
  The mother of the bridegroom wore a bright turquoise semi-fitted dress with long puffed sleeves and rhinestones at the waist. She wore a jewel and veil-trimmed silver pillbox and matching accessories. Her corsage was of white mums with silver leaves and ribbon.
   A reception for 100 was held at the Rainbow Restaurant, Johnstown, after the ceremony with music provided by Ralph Gardner and his orchestra, the bridegroom, a drummer, played the drums for seyeral selections. Guests attending were from Glens Falls, Ballston Spa, Meridian, Lebanon, Elnora, North Creek, Amsterdam, Round Lake, Albany, Randall, Gloversville, Johnstown, Fonda, Fultonville, Baltimore, Md. and Enfield, N.H.
   For a trip to the Adirondack region of the state and Canada, the bride chose a black velvet sheath dress with a white collar and cuffs, black accessories, a white coat and the corsage of blue tinted mums lifted from her wedding bouquet. The couple will reside temporarily at the home of the bridegroom's parents.
   Attendants were presented gifts at a rehearsal party at the home of the bridegroom's parents the Saturday before the wedding.
  The bride is a student at Fonda-Fultonville Central School. The bridegoom, a 1969 graduate of Gloversville High School, attended Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, and Fulton-Montgomery Community College. He is employed by the General Electric Company, Schenectady. He is a member of the National Guard and will leave Dec. 29 for Fort Campbell, Ky. for his basic training.

  NORTHVILLE - Miss Merry Lynne Gay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester W. Jones of Northville RD 1, was united in marriage to Leland A. Moyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard A. Moyer of Johnstown RD 2, at a double ring ceremony, 3 Saturday afternoon at the First United Methodist Church, Gloversville.
   Rev. Daniel Patridge, pastor, performed the ceremony.
   Vases of white gladioli decorated the altar with white satin bows attached to the family pews.
   Edward Goodmote of Mayfield, organist, provided the musical selections.
   The bride given in marriage by both her parents wore a full length gown of white crepe set organza over taffeta. The high rise neckline was accented with floral Venise lace, the fitted bodice had a sheer yoke adourned with Venise lace. The long tapered sleeves were also edged with floral lace along with the controlled skirt which terminated in a cathedral train edged with matching floral Venise lace.
   Her cathedral mantilla of matching lace fell from a Dutchess cap to floor length. The bride carried white miniature carnations and sprigs of baby's breath with a center of red sweetheart roses. The Colonial bouquet was lined with satin streamers.
   Mrs. Sandra Smith, the bride's sister, of Waipahu, Hawaii, was the matron of honor in a full length sleeveless gown in NYESTA knit with a scooped neckline and smocked fitted bodice and a semi-Empire waistline, with controlled A-line skirt. The bolero jacket was of floral organza with long Bishop sleeves and a ruffled standup collar.
   Bridesmaids were Mrs. Georgia Gay, sister-in-law of the bride, Johnstown RD 1, and Miss Linda Moyer, Miss Joanne Moyer and Miss Susan Moyer, all sisters of the bridegroom, of Johnstown RD 2.
   They wore similar outfits to that of Mrs. Smith, in colors of pink and blue.
   All the attendants wore matching Dior bows and bouffant veils and carried a Colonial bouquet of white miniature carnations and pink pompons with sprigs of baby's breath and pink satin streamers.
   Theodore De Varennes of Johnstown was best man. Ushers were Thomas H. Gay, brother of the bride, Johnstown RD 1, and John C. Jones and Michael S. Gay, also brothers of the bride, Northville RD 1, and Wayne A. Moyer, brother of the bridegroom, Johnstown RD 2.
   The mother of the bride wore a sleeveless gown of blue knit with a wedding ring collar adorned with matching pearls and rhinestones. A pleated attached chiffon cape accented the fitted bodice and semi-empire waist aline skirt. The mother of the bridegroom wore a green sleeveless a-line gown with an attached chiffon cape.
   The women wore corsages of blue and green carnations, respectively.
   A reception for 150 was held at the DAV Home, Johnstown, after the ceremony with music provided by the Sweet Water band. Guests attended from Waiphu, St. Johnsville; Broadalbin; Northville; Waterford; Albany; Mayfield; Saratoga Springs; Edmeston, Edinburg; Canada Lake; Johnstown; Gloversville, and Rhode Island.
   After a wedding trip to Canada the couple will reside at Snyder Avenue, Johnstown, at the LTS Trader Park.
   Attendants were presented gifts at a rehearsal party Friday night at the home of the bridegroom's parents.
   Showers were given for the bride on March 6, at the home of the bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs. Julia Moyer, and at the DAV Home. March 27, by the bridal attendants and relatives of the bride and bridegroom.
   A miniature wedding party decorated the head table at the reception, made by the bride's mother depicting the colors of the entire bridal party.
   The bride is a 1975 graduate of Northville Central Central School and is a licensed cosmetician and beautician employed with Halo Optical, Johnstown.
   The bridegroom a 1972 graduate of Johnstown High School is a graduate of BOCES Auto Mechanical School and is employed at Gillmore Oil Company, Johnstown.

  MOYER-Mary Carrie Moyer was born in Rochester, NY, on March 26, 1926. She passed away Thursday, July 15, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Moyer; her mother, Angelina Chiaramonte; her brother, Charles Chiaramonte and wife, Grace; and her sister, Josephine Ralleo. Mary is survived by her children, Loralee "Lorie" McCall, Rene Moyer, and David Moyer all of Albuquerque; sisters, Sylvia Contreras and husband, Charles of Rochester, NY, Eleanor Williamson and husband, Ralph of Wolcutt. NY, and Irene Santoro of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, David Arnold, Ashley Moyer, and Dominick Moyer, and great-granddaughter, Angelina Ar-' nold. Services will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel on Monday, July 19, 2004. The visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the reciting of the rosary at 10-30 am., concluded by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow with Dominick Moyer, David Arnold, Jimmy Ralleo, David Moyer, Joe Cruz, and Ralph Cruz, serving as pallbearers.   Earl M. SARATOGA SPRINGS - Earl M. Moyer, 75, formerly of Sheehan Street, Mechanicville, died Monday, May 26, 1997, at Saratoga Hospital.
  Born on March 25, 1922, he was the son of the late Adam and Mabel (Watkins) Moyer and was a former resident of Utica and North Creek.
  A veteran of World War II, he served with the Sixth Marine Division on the Pacific Theatre of Operations.
  He was a member of Gurtler Bros. Post 420 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Carpenters Union Local 229 of Glens Falls.
  Mr. Moyer was a former caretaker for the Barton Mine Corp in North Creek, retiring in 1984.
  Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lucy (Weigel) Moyer; two sons, Douglas Earl Moyer of Moyer South Glens Falls and Paul G. Moyer of Mechanicville; a daughter, Patricia (Moyer) Poulette Qf Saratoga Springs; four grandchildren, and several nieces, cousins and one aunt.
  A Mass of Christian Burial w ill be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of St. Peter, 24 1 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
  Burial with full military honors will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Louden Road.
  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Wednesday at the William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home. 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
   Members of VFW Post 420 will meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

  Mrs. Ella May Tibbetts wife of Harry E. Tibbetts of Schenectady passed away at the Ellis Hospital in that city Christmas morning. Mrs. Tibbetts was 35 years old having been born on February 4, 1899, the daughter of George and Ida Sweet McKee.
  In addition to her husband and one son, Mrs. Tibbetts is survived by her father, a sister, Mrs. Alva Kniskern and two brothers, Barney and Clarence McKee all of Cobleskill.
  Funeral Services will be held on Friday afternoon at the Howes Cave Reform Church. Burial in Sloansville Cemetery.
