  UNADILLA FORKS - Minard A Ward, 80, of RD #2 West Winfield, died September 29,1986, at his home.
  He was bom December 22, 1905, in New Haven, NY, the son of Mabel and Edward Ward. He came to this area at an early age and received his education in local schools. He married Mary Roberts, April 13, 1929, in West Winfield. Mr. Ward was a lifelong dairy farmer, a member of the Leonardsville United Methodist Church and served as Superintendant of the Sunday School. He was also a member of the Unidilla Forks Fire Department.
  Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Betty Jean Brodie, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; as son, Ronald Allan Ward, of West Winfield; nine grandchildren, including Mrs. Roger (Debrah) Ming, of Cassville, Walter (Chip) Pelfrey and Dale Pelfrey, both of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and a great-grandaughter, Linsey Nichols Ming of Cassville; a sister Mrs. Howard (Mildred) Fenton, of West Winfield: two brothers. Harold Ward of West Winfield and Kenneth Ward, of Lakeworth. Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
  The funeral will be Thursday afternoon, at 2:00. at the Wilcox Funeral Home. West Winfield, with the Rev. Barbara Beaudry officiating. Interment will be in the Unadilla Forks Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

  PLAINFIELD - Mrs. George Beach entertained at a variety shower Friday evening in honor of her sister, Miss Mildred Ward, and Howard Fenton of East Winfield, whose marriage will soon take place. About twenty-five were present and a jolly time was had. Delicious refreshments were served and the future bride received a lovely variety of gifts.

  WED IN LOG CABIN BUILT BY GROOM
  On October 28th the marriage of Mildred Ward, daughter of Edward Ward of West Winfleld, and Howard Fenton of that village, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthello Fenton, was solemnlzed in a log cabin in the East Winfield gulf which had been erected by the groom with logs exceeding 150 years in age. Mr. and Mrs. Fenton are now living in their log cabin home, an eight room dwelling with fire place, built in book cases and other conveniences that make for the delight and comfort of the homemaker.
  The ceremony was performed by the Reverend Alton Parker of the Methodist Church, West Winfield.

  Cedarville — Harold F. Naylor, 58, of Ilion RD 2, died Wednesday in Ilion Hospital where he had been a patient for a week. He had been in ill health for the past year.
  He was born June 12, 1902, in Otego, son of William and Lizzie Scott Naylor. He was educated in Oneonta area schools. He married Kittie Gould in West Winfield Sept. 15, 1924. The couple had since lived in the area and for about 15 years, operated a farm near Cedarville.
  For the past four years, Mr. Naylor was employed by Sperry Rand in Ilion and Hubbard
Heel Co., Herkimer.
   Mr. Naylor was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Utica.
   He leaves his wife, a son, William, Ilion; two brothers, Floyd, West Winfield, and Ralph, Waterville; a sister; Mrs, Dorothy Ward, Waterbury, Conn.; three grandchldren, several nieces and nephews.
  The funeral will be at 2 Sunday from the Wilcox Funeral Home, West Winfield, with the Rev. Benjamin Hartman, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Utica, officiating. Burial will be in Cedarville.

  BRIDGEWATER - Mr. Edward G. Gould, 75, of Main St. Bridgewater, died Saturday at his home.
  He was born July 17. 1904 in llion, son of William and Sarah Ward Gould He attended school at West Winfield and in 1931 was married to Florence DeRosia. She died in 1980 Mr Gould operated a farm near Cedarville for a number of years and had been employed by the Town of Litchfield Highway Dept. He was last employed as a groundskeeper at Cedar Lake
Club. He was a member of the Bridgewater Fire Co. and the Senior Citizens Club.
   Surviving, a grandson, David Gould and two granddaughters, Miss Joanne Gould and Miss Debra Gould, all of Bridgewater, one brother. Albert Gould, Unadilla Forks; three sisters;  Mrs. Kittie Naylor, Mohawk; Mrs Helen Crewell, West Winfield R.D. ----- daughter-in-law, Eileen Gould, Bridgewater; also several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a. m. from the Wilcox Funeral Home with Rev. Waiter Hillls officiating Burial will be in Cedarville Cemetery in the spring. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9. The firemen will conduct services Monday evening at 7:30.

  BRIDGEWATER — Funeral services for David H. Gould, 39, of Main Street, Route 90, will be at 3 Tuesday from the Wilcox Funeral Home, West Winfield.
  Burial will be in Cedarville Cemetery.
  Mr. Gould was killed in an automobile accident Friday night on Route 8, north of Bridgewater.
  He was born in Utica, a son of Edward G. and Florence DeRosia Gould. He attended Bridgewater and West Winfield schools. He enlisted in the Armary in 1963 and was discharged in 1965 with a reserve status.
  He was a truck driver for Ludlow Sand and Gravel Co., Clayville, for 3 1/2 years. He was
a member of the People's Undenominational Church, Cedarville and the Utica Teamsters Union,
He also was vice president of the Bridgewater Fire Company.
  Besides his parents he leaves a brother, edward L., Bridgewater.

  Mrs. Gould is survivied by her husband; five daughters, Mrs. George (Amy) Land, Bridgewater, Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Rockafeller, of Herkimer, Mrs. Robert (Connie) Simmons, Cassville, Mrs. Lucian (Beverly) Laymon, West Winfield and Mrs. Earl (Laurie) Duncan, West Exter; one son Albert E. Gould, Georgia, two twin sisters, Iris Bond and Inez Fuller both of Schuyler Lake; one brother, Paul Marriott if West Winfield; one half sister, Ethelyn Sammons; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
  The funeral will be Sunday afternoon at 3:30 at the Wilcox Funeral Home, West Winfield, Interment next spring in Fairview Cemetery, Bridgewater.

  She was bom May 23, 1910 in the Town of Columbia, the daughter of William and Sarah Ward Gould. She attended West Winfield schools and was married to Lawrence Brooks on May 26, 1928 in Elizabethtown.
  Mrs. Brooks was a member of the former West Winfield Methodist Church and the West Exeter Methodist Church.
  Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Lawrence J., John and Richard Brooks, all of West Winfield; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Kittie) Naylor, Mohawk, and Mrs. Harold (Helen) Crewell, West Winfield; two brothers; Edward and Albert Gould, both of Bridgewater, and nine grandchildren.
  A private funeral will be held tomorrow morning from the Wilcox Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Fitch, pastor of the Unadilla Forks Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be Unadilla Forks Cemetery.
  There are no calling hours.

  WEST WINF1ELD - Mr. Lawrence Brooks. 75, of N.Y. Rt. 51 South, a retired milk station employee, died Sunday in Hubbardsville after a long illness.
  He was born May 23, 1807, in Morristown, the son of Amos and Harriett Bishop Brooks and attended school there. He was married May 26, 1923 in the Town of Columbia to Lydia Gould. The couple spent most of their married lives at their present Woods Corners home. She died in 1973. Mr. Brooks spent most of his life in the milk station business and was employed for over 30 years with the Dairyman's League in West Winfield. He also worked in milk stations in Bridgewater and Deansboro. In addition be had operated his own farm. He was of the Methodist faith.
  Surviving are three sons, Lawrence J. Brooks, Hubbardsville, John (Jack) Brooks and Richard Brooks, both of West Winfield; also 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 from the Wilcox Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Fitch officiating. Burial will be in Unadilla Forks Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9.
