Neil F. Washer, resident of the Pennellville-Phoenix Rd, died last night at his home after a long illness. Mr. Washer was born at Pennellville, son of Frank Washer and Blanche Fralick Washer. He was formerly a foreman for the National Milk Sugar Company at Pennellville and was a member of the Pennellville Grange. A former county committeemen for the Republican party, he also served as member of the board of elections. Mr. Washer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Byrne Washer; a daughter, Mrs. Ira Ives of Penellas Park, Fla.; a son, Tech. Sgt. Leo E. Washer of the U.S. Air Force Base in Spain; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Severance of Watertown and Mrs. Leland O'Brien of Pennellville. Funeral services will be conducted at the Alanson-Glanville-Tappan funeral home on Main in Phoenix Sunday. The Rev. James E. Spear, pastor of the Pennellville Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pennellville cemetery.

Lt. Neil Fay Washer, who has been reported missing, was killed in action in the North Africa area on June 22 according to a notice received by his wife, Mrs. Rena Washer, of Urbana, Ill., who notified his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Francis Washer of Pennellville. He was a fighter pilot. A younger brother, Leo, employed at the Rome air depot, intends to join the RAF as soon as he is 17. Also surviving are his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Stevens and Frank Washer of Pennellville, and one sister, Mrs. Ira Ives of Fulton. RD. Lt. Washer is the second person who has been reported killed in the town of Schroeppel. A 1938 graduate of Phoenix high school, Lt. Washer was employed at the National Milk Sugar Co. of Pennellville before his enlistment in September, 1940. He received his wings in October, 1942, and was gent overseas in November, 1942.

The funeral for Mrs. Pearl B. Severance,70,of Fulton, former resident of Gouverneur, was held Friday at the Northam Fox funeral home, Watertown,with the Rev. John B. Smiley, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Watertown, officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Gouverneur. Mrs. Severance, widow of Karl W. Severance, died April 25 in Lee Memorial hospital, Fulton, where she had been a patient since April 22. She had been in ill health for about three years. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Anthony J, (Marion) Marino, Fulton, with whom she had resided; Mrs. Bernice W. Spriggs, North Syracuse, and Mrs. Bernard A. (Lucille) Pernice, Watertown; and one sister, Mrs. Leland (Marjorie) 'Brien, Pennellviile.
Mrs. Severance was born Nov. 12, 1896, in Phoenix, a daughter of Frank and Blanche Fralick Washer. She was married to Karl W. Severance on Feb. 18,1915. Mr. and Mrs. Severance resided for many years in Gouverneur where Mr. Severance was identified with the undertaking business with his brother, late Glen W. Severance. Mrs. Severance was employed as a waitress in the Crystal Palace. They later moved to Watertown where Mr. Severance was employed by the Northam & Fox funeral home until 1947 when they opened and operated a roadside stand near the Cold Creek Inn. Mr. Severance died June 8, 1957.
Mrs. Severance had bowled with teams of various leagues in Watertown, including the Watertown Women's City Bowling Team.

Clinton John Washer, 62, husband of Clara Neft Washer, died at the family home, 1223 Main Street, Phoenix last night.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Ladd of Central Square and Mrs. Marie Grey of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a son, Robert Washer of Mexico; several grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Severance, Watertown, and Mrs. Marjorie O'Brien, Pennellville and a brother, Neil Washer, also of Pennellville.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home here, the Rev. Charles Ouderkirk officiating. Burial will be in Pennellville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight and Wednesday evening 7 to 9 p.m. There will be no afternoon calling hours.
