  ST. JOHNSVILLE—Mrs. Elsie Walrath, 84, widow of Charles A. Walrath, died Monday afternoon in Little Falls Hospital, where she had been a patient for 23 days. She had been in failing health for several months.
  Mrs. Walrath was born May 9, 1885, in Rockwood, Fulton County, daughter of Dewitt and Emma Argersinger Cool. She had spent the greater part of her life in St. Johnsville, and was a retired glove worker.
  She was married many years ago to Charles A. Walrath, who died Sept. 27, 1942.
  Surviving are two sons, Ivan Walrath, RD 2, St. Johnsville, and Kennety [sic], St. Johnsville; one daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Bernice) Circhirillo, also of St. Johnsville; one sister, Mrs. Madge Mead, Albany; six grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
  The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Lull Funeral Home. The Rev. William Gilpin, pastor of Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, will officiate, and burial will be made in West St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience.

  Charles A. Walrath, 67, died Sunday afternoon in Little Falls Hospital after an illness of several weeks.
  Mr. Walrath was born in Ephratah on April 12, 1885, a son of Joel and Jane Walrath. He spent his entire life in this immediate vicinity, for some time conducting a farm near the Mill road, West St
Johnsville.
  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elsie Walrath; one daughter, Bernice; two sons, Ivan and Kenneth, and three grandchildren.
  The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of the son, Kenneth, 11 Monroe Street, this village. The Rev. C. Frederick Miller, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Albert B. Hotchkiss, pastor of Grace Congregational Christian Church. Burial was in West St Johnsville Cemetery,

  Bernice E. Circhirillo, 79 a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Monday February 28, 2005 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home.
   She was born November 9, 1925 in St. Johnsville the daughter of the late Charles & Elsie ( Cool) Walrath and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School. She was married to Anthony Circhirillo on July 4, 1947. Mr. Circhirillo preceded her in death.
   Until her retirement in 1990, Mrs. Circhirillo worked at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie. She was also the Town judge of St. Johnsville for many years. Bernice was of the catholic faith.   
   Survivors include her step-son, Anthony Circhirillo of Rochester, a step-daughter, Marlene Maida and husband Francis of Dolgeville, 4 nieces, Carol Miklic and husband Lou of St. Johnsville, Nancy Walrath of Syracuse, Joan Chester of Gilbertsville, Vicki Garrett and husband Stanley of Chittenango, & Emma Jane Blair and husband Robert of Chittenango, a nephew, Byron Walrath and wife Ann of St. Johnsville and a sister-in-law; Frances Walrath of St. Johnsville. She was pre-deceased by 2 brothers, Ivan & Kenneth Walrath.
  Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 3, 2005 at 2:00 pm from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St, St. Johnsville, NY. Interment will take place in the spring at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday March 3, 2005 from 1:00 pm until the time of the services. All memorial contributions may be made to either S.A.V.A.C. or to the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter.

  St. Johnsville, Jan. 28.—George Fletcher and Miss. Madge Cool, both of St. Johnsville. were united in marriage Sunday evening at tho home of the Rev. B. E. Fake. D. D., at Fort Plain. The attending couple was Gordon Cool of St. Johnsville, brother of the bride, and Miss Luclnda Loats of Minden.
  Mr, -Fletcher is one of St. Johnsvllle's most enterprising businessmen and is the owner and proprietor of a popular cigar, confectionery and Ice cream store just west of the post office and is widely known along the New York Central, having been employed in carrying the United States mail for the past six years.
   Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher will be "at home" to their friends at their new home. on East Main street after April 1.

 - Obituary (The Leader-Republican, Gloversville and Johnstown, NY, Wednesday, April 1, 1953)
  Ernest L. Mead, 68, of 206 South Melcher Street, employe of the State Highway Department for the past 22 years, died suddenly this morning at 10:45 after being stricken with a fatal heart attack.
  It occured in front of the Masonic Temple, 22 North Perry Street, while he was riding on a highway truck with several other workers on their way to do some road work.
  Dr. Martin L. Brewda, who was assisting at the Red Cross blood giving center at the temple, was summoned but the stricken man had already passed away. Dr. Frank G. Calder, coroner, was then notified.
  Mr. Mead was born in the Town of Johnstown, Sept. 27, 1884, the son of Homer and Elizabeth (Empie) Mead but had lived in this city the greater part of his life.
  He was- a member of the First Baptist Church.
  Mr. Mead was united in marriage in May, 1933, to Mrs. Madge Fletcher Cool in Albany, who survives, together with three sons, Lyman L. of St. Albans, V. Everett F. of Atlanta, Ga., and Robert E. of Johnstown: two step-daughters, Mrs. Alfred Frye of Gloversville, and Mrs. Elmer Allen of Troy; also 10 grandchldren, nieces and nephews.
  The body was removed to the Brown & Ehle Funeral Home where friends may call after Thursday noon.
   The funeral will be held Saturday at, 2 in the funeral home The Rev. Harlow W. Parsons will officiate. Burial will he in the Sand Flats Cemetery.

  Roy Fical, aged about twenty-five years, was instantly killed Friday morning of last week at the home of George C. Markell, president of the First National Bank at St Johnsville, by a concrete retaining wall falling upon him.
  Fical and his stepfather, Harvey Lighthart, had been constructing a garage of stucco work at the Markell place and started this morning to remove a part of this concrete wall which holds up a heavy embankment of gravel. The embankment gave way and the wall broke, three tons of the mass of material falling upon Fical. Webster Gros was also caught, but extricated himself.

  GLOVERSVILLE - Jesse F. Rullson, 71, died at 5 a.m. yesterday in the Nathan Littauer Hospital, where he had been a patient for one week. Rulison, had spent considerable time previously in nursing homes.
  He was born, and lived his entire life in Gloversville. He is survived by his wife, Leona, RD; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Edel, RD; Ernest Farhart and Mrs Howard Lee, Gloversville; his mother, Mrs, Fred Rulison, Gloversville; four brothers, Fred, William and Floyd of Gloversville and Pearl, of Johnstown. There are several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Eugene Hollenbeck funeral home, 4 second avenue, with the Rev. Winston B, Maricle of the Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Fern Dale cemetery.

  Mrs. Leona Rulison, 79, of Phelps Street RD, died early yesterday morning at the Albany Medical Center Hospital where she was admitted Monday.
  She was born July, 12,1890, at Bleecker and had resided in the Gloversville area most of her life. She had been employed at the Hilts-Willard and Grandoe Glove Corporation glove concerns, before her retirement. She was of the Baptist faith.
  Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Paul Edel of Bleecker Stage, Mrs. Ernest Farhart and Mrs. Howard Lee, both of Gloversville; two sons, Victor Rulison of Johnstown and Vernon Rulison of Gloversville RD; two Brothers, Delton Shults of Oakfield, Genesee County, and Howard Shults of Stamford, Conn.; several grandchildren great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

  The widow of William Rulison who died in April 1961, she had been in failing health several years. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of Yeovil, England.

  Milford Rulison, 88, died suddenly at his home 109 First avenue, following a heart attack Saturday night about 10:80. He was stricken in his home while walking toward a doorway and was dead when Dr. William Karl arrived. Dr. H. C. Hageman, acting coroner conducted an examination and turned the case over to Dr. Robert Ellithorp, who gave a verdict of death by natural cause.
  Mr. Rulison had been under a doctor's care for sometime with a heart ailment
  He was born in Gloversville, October 30, 1889 and lived here most of that time, excepting a short time when he resided in Northville. He was a leather worker by trade and for twenty three years was connected with the F. Rulison & Sons factory in Johnstown, retiring a few months ago.
  The survivors are his wife. Mildred Ellsworth Rulison of Gloversvllle; two sons, Everett of McGraw, and Robert of Albany: one stepson. Payette Horton of Augusta, Ga.: his mother Mrs. Mary Rulison of Gloversville; five brothers, Jesse P., William and Frederick L Rulison of Gloversville, Floyd and Pearl Rulison of Johnstown: two grandchildren, Annette and Gerald Rulison of McGraw.
  The funeral will be held at the Walrath & Bushouer Funeral Home. 51 Fremont street, tomorrow afternoon at 4. The Rev. Clarence C. Walker of the Emmanuel Baptist church will officiate. Burial will be in Prospect Hill cemetery.

 Obituary (Leader - Herald, Gloversville - Johnstown, NY, Thursday, September 27, 1973)
  Fred L. Rulison, 77, of Phelps Street, president of Fred L. Rulison and Sons Inc., leather tanners in Johnstown, was pronounced dead on arrival at 3:15 yesterday afternoon at Johnstown Hospital.
  He was taken to the hospital by the Johnstown Area Volunteer Corps from the tannery where he was stricken ill. He had worked in his office at the tannery since morning.
  Mr. Rulison was born April 12, 1986, in Gloversville, the son of Fred L and Mary Rulison. He was educated in Gloversville schools and married the former Anna I. Fox, who survives, on Dec. 24, 1913.
  In 1919 Mr. Rulison, his father and two brothers, William and Milford, all now deceased, formed the Rulison tanning business in Northville. In 1930 they purchased the Herman Martin tannery in Johnstown, moved their Northville operations to the new plant and changed the name of the combined companies to Fred L. Rulison and Sons Inc.
  Mr. Rulison had served as president of the Rulison tanning firm since the early 1940's. During World War II he served on the War Production Board. He was a member of the Tanners Association of Fulton County and had served as its president many years. He was a former member of the Eccentric Club and was a member of the board of directors of the State Bank of Albany in Johnstown.
  Mr. Rulison in the 1950's was a director of the former Gloversville-Johnstown team in the Canadian-American League and for many years personally sponsored Babe Ruth and Little League teams in this area.
  He and his son, Arthur M. Rulison, who now lives in Broadalbin, took hunting expeditions to Alaska in the 1950's to hunt for Alaskan bears.
  Survivors, besides his wife and son, are three grandsons, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

  GLOVERSVILLE— Floyd Rulison. 67, of 120 North Main street, died at 7:30 last night at his home. He had been in failing health the last five years.
  Mr. Rulison was bom in Gloversville Aug. 8, 1899, and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
  Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John Skaine of Johnstown and Mrs. Herman Mills and Mrs. Michael Dalleo, both of Gloversville; seven sons Raymond Rulison of Fultonville, and Floyd Rulison Jr., Maurice Rulison, Warren Rulison, Melvin Rulison, Robert Rulison and Clark Ellsworth, all of Gloversville.

  Mrs. Rulison was a patient at the hospital seven days and had been in failing health the last four years.
  She was born in Northville Sept. 25, 1905, and came to the Gloversville area after her marriage to Floyd Rulison. He died on Aug; 8, 1966.
  She was employed as a gloveworker at Noone Glove Co., Johnstown, for many years before retiring five years ago.
  She attended First Baptist Church.

  Given in marriage by her stepfather, the bride wore a white floor length gown of lace and tulle with a Sabrina neckline, short sleeves and bouffant skirt. Her fingertip veil was attached to a crown of seed pearls, and she carried a white floral corsage and white Bible.
  The double ring ceremony, in a church setting of gladioli and daisies, was performed by Rev. John F. Riley, assistant pastor. Traditional selections were played by Mrs. Fred Chatterton, organist.
   Mrs. Phyliss Mills, Gloversville, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. She wore a blue nylon gown with matching headpiece, and carried a wreath of white carnations.
  Miss Jeanette Rulison, Hillside Park, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid, and Deborah Dalleo, Gloversville RD 1, niece of the bridgegroom, was flower girl.
  The junior bridesmaid wore a shrimp nylon floor length gown, and a wreath of orange blossoms, and carried pink carnations. The flower girl wore a green nylon floor length gown, matching bonnet, and carried yellow carnations.
  Michael Dalleo, Gloversville RD 1, brother-in-law of the bridgegroom, was best man. Ushers were Herman Mills, Gloversville, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Douglas Trumbull. Johnstown.
  The bride's mother wore a floral print dress, and a white carnation corsage. The bridegroom's mother was attired in beige dress with nylon over taffeta, and white carnation corsage.
  A reception for 50 persons was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Rulison, 50 Highland Terrace.
  The couple left on a wedding trip to New York City.
The bride attended Johnstown schools, and is employed by Scoismoor Company in Johnstown. The bridegroom attended the same schools, and is employed by F. Rulison and Son, of Johnstown.
  A pre-nuptial -shower was given for the bride by Mrs. Floyd Rulison at her home.
  Gifts were presented to the attendants after rehearsal Friday night.
  Guests attended the wedding from Gloversville, Johnstown, and area.

Mills, son of John Wesley Mills. 41 West Street, and the late Marie Mills, were united in marriage In the First Baptist Church, Johnstown.
  The single ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Harlow W. Parsons, former paster.
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of white taffeta with a lace bodice and nylon net over the skirt She wore a fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of white gladioli.
  Mrs. Betty Dalieo, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and wore a gown of pink taffeta. She also carried gladiolas.
   Maurice Rulison, brother of the bride, was best man.
   Miss Geraldine Snell and Mrs. Lydia Shandro were bridesmaids, wearing gowns of yellow and orchid taffeta. They carried gladiolas.
  The flower girls were the Mioses Patricia Ann Rulison, niece of the bride, and Ann Marie Shandro, niece of the bridegroom. They were attired in identical gowns of white organdy and carried white gladiolas.
  The ushers were Pvt Raymond Rullson, brother of the bride, and Kenneth Danforth. brother-in-law of the bridegroom.
  The bride's mother wore a dress of blue nylon with Navy and red accessories.
  Immediately following the wedding, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. A 4-tiered wedding cake was cut In the presence of about 50 guests. The bridal table was decorated with red and pink roses.
  The newlyweds left by automobile for an undisclosed destination. The bride wore a pink nylon dress with a corsage of white roses. Upon their return, the bridegroom will report to Camp Kilmer, N. J., for reassignment.
  The bride will reside with her parents until her husband is released from the Army.
  The bride attended Johnstown schools and is employed at Swears in Johnstown. The bridegroom attended Gloversville Schools and for the last three years has served with the Army in Germany.

  The best man was Maurice Rulison, brother of the bride, and ushers were Melvin Rulison, another brother, and John Skaine.
  The bride's mother wore a dress of blue satin with wine accessories, and a corsage of red roses. The mother of the bridegroom wore a wine-colored dress with black accessories, and a corsage of red roses.
  The church was decorated with palms and assorted flowers.
  Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the bride's home and the couple cut a three-tier wedding cake and presented personal gifts to their attendants.
  Later they left on a wedding trip to Niagara Falls. On their return they will set up residence at 80 Broad street, Gloversville.
  The bride is a graduate of Johnstown High School, class of 1950, and is employed at the Hallas Restaurant in this city.

  JOHNSTOWN—Pearl Rulison, 59, of 202 Prindle avenue, leather dressing concern foreman, died at 3:30 p.m. yesterday at the Johnstown hospital where he had been a patient since Aug. 31. He Was in failing health one year.
  He was born in Gloversville April. 30, 1907, and was a lifelong resident of the county.
  He was employed 40 years by the F. Rulison and Son leather dressing firm, where He was a
foreman.
  Mr. Rulison was a member of St. Patrick's Church and a member of its Holy Name Society.
He was also a-fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus council.
  Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Frances M. Rulison; two sons, Richard P. Rulison of Mayfield and James R. Rulison of Johnstown; a brother, Frederick L. Rulison of Gloversville, also nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
   A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the A. G. Cole funeral home, followed by high mass of. requiem at 9;30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2:30 to 4:30 a.m. and from 7 to
9 p.m. tomorrow.
