  DOLGEVILLE - George Loucks, 84, of 16 East Faville Ave., retired owner and operator of a plant manufacturing piano hammers and accessories in Dolgeville, and a former government employe in Washington in World War 1, died Monday in Little Falls Hospital, where he had been a patient a week
  Born in Dolgeville, he was a life long resident of the area. He was educated in local schools and attended Albany Business School and the Oneonta Normal School. He also taught eveing classes in reading and writing for immigrants.
  Mr. Loucks also taught the former Fiery Hill School south of Mohawk, worked at the typewriting plant in Ilion. and was chief bookkeeper for the William Breckweld Lumber Company in Dolgeville.
  During World War I. he was employed by the U.S. Department of Ordinance and Procurement, which had control of all arms sent to Europe.
  In 1930, he married Catherine Van Allen.
  Surviving are his wife; a son, George of Dolgeville; three sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Flossie) Moore of Oneida Castle. Mrs. Anna Dutcher and Mrs. Charles --------.
  Private funeral services will be at 9:30 Thursday from the Roberts Funeral Home and at 10 from St. Joseph's Church. A spring burial will be in Dolgeville Cemetery.
  Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today. A prayer service will be conducted at 8 tonight.

  Edward DeNure. 69. of St. Johnsville R.D. 1. was found dead in a chair at his home yesterday morning, a victim of natural causes.
  Fulton County Sheriff Chris Pencheff and Deputy Alton May investigated the death upon being called to the home in the Scotchbush section of the Town of Ephratah at 8:45 a.m.
  Dr. Robert S. Kunkel. county coroner, attributed death to natural causes.
  Mr. DeNure was a lifelong resident of Scotchbush. where he was born Dec. 4. 1893, a son of Ervin and Sarah Cromer DeNure. He was a self-employed woodsman.
  He was a veteran of World War I.
  He was married to the Flora Dempster, who is deceased.
  Surviving are two sisters, Miss Jennie DeNure. Scotchbush, and Mrs. Carrie Westley, Johnstown.
  Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith funeral home in St. Johnsville by the Rev. Joseph Bono of Frankfort. Burial will be in Fickal Cemetery. Scotchbush.

  GLOVERSVILLE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet Looman, 74, of Bleecker Stage, who died early yesterday morning at Littauer Hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home by the Rev. Roger W. Cowan.
  Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
  Mrs. Looman was a hospital patient 3 1/2 months. She was born in Lassellsville and lived in the Gloversville and Bleecker area 50 years. She had operated a foster home at her residence 39 years.
  Mr. Looman was the widow of Ralph W. Looman. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lemuel Taylor and Mrs. Benjamin Terranova of Gloversville; five brothers, Clarence Miles of Greenwich, Clayton Miles and Emery Miles of Amsterdam, Roy Miles of RD Johnstown and Stephen Miles of Gloversville; several foster children, nieces and nephews.

  BLEECKER -- Ralph W. Looman, 70, of Bleecker Stage, died at 2:30 this morning at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he had been admitted several hours earlier. He had been in failing health for several months.
  Born in the Town of Salisbury, June 29, 1900, he was the son of Augustus and Eleanor Austin Looman. He lived in Gloversville from 1926 until moving to the Bleecker Road 22 years ago.
  Survivors include his wife, Harriett; several foster children; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Hartnett, of Gloversville, Mrs. Clifford Darling, of Little Falls and Mrs. Earl Murphy, of Herkimer; one brother; Francis Looman, of Fort Plain, and several nieces and nephews.

  The bride, given in marriage by her foster father, was atteded by her sister. Miss Mary Clark. Ronald Kucel was best man for his brother, and ushering were Donald Walker and William Merrill.
  Following the ceremony, a reception for 100 guests was held at the Meco firehouse. The couple is on a wedding trip to Canada.

  Lester Weaver, 81, of Phelps Street, died early this morning at the Fulton County Infirmary where he had been a patient since Oct. 26.
  He was born in the Town of Ephratah on June 2, 1895, the son of Jesse and Delia Weaver. He received his education in the Scotch Bush schools and resided most of his life in the area.
  He married the former Amanda Miles in April 1917 and she died Dec. 18, 1966.
  He was employed by the former G. Levor and Company, retiring in 1960.
  Mr. Weaver was of the Methodist faith.
  Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Helen Dinehart, of Gloversville; two granddaughters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Taylor was a glove sewer who worked at the former Westbrook Glove Co. in Gloversville for many years, retiring in 1975. She was of the Methodist faith. She was married in 1922 to Lemuel R. Taylor, who died in 1966. Survived by her daughters, Norma (Ramon) Streeter of Gloversville and Beverly Barker of Corpus Christi, Texas; 2 granddaughters, Sheila Ambridge of Gloversville and Sharon McGillis of Grand Bay, Alabama, whom she raised from their early childhood; 4 other grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Taylor was predeceased by a son; a daughter; 5 brothers; and 3 sisters. Friends may call Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Amico Funeral Home, 150 South Main St., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Ferndale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

   GLOVERSVILLE -- Lemuel R. Taylor, 67, of 58 Woodside avenue died yesterday at his home. He had been in failing health for four years.
  Mr. Taylor, born in Boston, lived in Dolgeville for 35 years before coming to Gloversville, where he had resided for the last 32 years. He was employed by the Gloversville board of education until his retirement two years ago.
  Mr. Taylor was a Methodist. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Stella Taylor, a son, Harold Taylor of Gloversville; two daughters, Mrs. William A. Mills of South Carolina and Mrs. Ramon Streeter of Gloversville; a sister, Mrs. Hans Peterson of Vesta, three grandsons and three granddaughters.
  Funeral arrangements are being made by the Walrath and Bushouer funeral home.

  ST. JOHNSVILLE, Sept. 30. -- Benjamin Terranova, of St. Johnsville, well know in boxing circles as the lightweight champion in this section and as "Tornado Ben." was married Sunday afternoon at Dolgeville to Miss Grace Miles of that village. The ceremony was performed at St. Joseph's church at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Thomas S. Slattery.
  Joseph Terranova of Canajoharie and Virginia Terranova of St. Johnsville were the attendants. The bride wore a princess gown of white satin gloss with hat and slippers to match. The maid of honor, a sister of the bridegroom, wore a bright green satin gloss with hat and slippers to match. She carried a bouquet of roses. A wedding dinner was served before the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Miles. Following the ceremony a reception was given at the home of Mrs. Philip Francesco, sister of the bridegroom, in St. Johnsville. Mr. and Mrs. Terranova left by automobile for a trip to Niagara Falls. Upon their return they will reside in New York City.

  Benjamin Terranova, four-month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Terranova, 18 Cedar street, died at 12:40 yesterday morning at the Nathan Litauer hospital. The child was born in this city.
  Funeral services will be held at the family home this morning at 8:80 AM. Rev. Francis Neumann, assistant pastor of St Mary's Catholic church will officiate. Interment will be made at St Johnsvllle.

  Here Comes the Bride and Groom
  With the strains of this traditional nuptial melody still ringing In the air, Bridal couples all over the nation will be proceeding down the aisle, arm in arm.
  Typical of these couples are Donna and Pete Kakareka, who were wed yesterday in St. Mary s Church, Gloversville.
   Donna is the oldest of four children of Mr. Benjamin Terranova, 366 Bleecker Street, and Pete is the youngest of two children of Mrs. Frances Kakareka, 108 Broad Street, both of Gloversville.
   As with all young couples, the months preceding the Big Day were filled, with the hustle and bustle of preparing for the time when they would beqin married life together. Last minute details of the weddmg and reception, where to go on their honeymoon, shopping to furnish their first home and the last minute changes on the wedding invitation list occupied most of their time.
  Donna and Pete' first met at a dance while they were both attending Gloversville High Schoo. It was while in High School that Donna was a Majorette Leader, taking part in many school functions and appearing in several parades in the area Their
interest in each other continued after graduation when Donna become affiliated with the St. Thomas Company as a stenographer, and Pete, already active in the local unit of The Notional Guard, took a position in the Service Department of Sears, Roebuck Company.
  Finally, on Christmas Eve of I960, Pete presented Donna with a diamond, thus marking the mutual tie existing between them.
  Now the day is behind them, all the planning and preparation Is over, the future holds only the promise, of happiness and prosperity for the new bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kakartka.

  The marriage of Miss Patricia Ault, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ault, 145 Market St.,
to Philip Terranova, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Terranova, Gloversville, took place Oct. 20 at St. Joseph's Church, the Rev. Francis A. Neumann, pastor, officiating at the double ring ceremony.
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, was gowned in white nylon sheer with a chapel train and wore an orange blossom crown with a tiered veil. She carried white mums.
  The matron of honor was the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Donna Kakareka, who was attired in a blue gown with matching headdress and carried blue mums. The bridesmaids, Mrs. Arlene Spraker and Miss Irene Kaslowski. wore pink and blue gowns patterened after the matron of honor's and carried pink and blue mums.
  Carl Kakareka, brother-inlaw of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Joseph Terranova, brother of the bridegroom, and Ronald Frazier.
  The bride's mother wore a gold sheath while the bridegroom's mother wore black chiffon. Both wore corsages of red, and white roses.
  A reception at the Glove Inn, Gloversville, followed the ceremony.
  After a wedding trip to New York, Mr. and Mrs. Terranova are residing at 32 West St. Gloversville.
  The bride is. a graduate of the Lynch High School and is employed by Bayshore Industries, Amsterdam.
  The bridegroom attended Gloversville schools and is employed by Glove Cities Chevrolet.

  Miss Jacquelyn Ann Decker became the bride of Spec. 4 Benjamin Terranova on Jan. 28 in a ceremony held in the Fremont Methodist Church, Gloversville. The Rev. Luther A. Patton officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mearl Decker and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Terranova: Both families reside in Gloversville.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Miss Donna Terranova, maid of honor; Mrs. Betty Lander, matron of honor; Mrs. Philip Terranova and Mrs. Jo Ann Sartin. bridesmaids; Miss Doreen Ward, junior bridesmaid; and Miss Tammy Spraker flower girl. Joseph Terranova served as best man. Philip Terranova, Earl Decker and Raymond Sartin ushered; Billie Young was junior usher; and John Dutcher was ringbearer. A reception was held at the Catholic War Veterans Hall, Gloversville.
  The newlyweds both attended Gloversville High School. Mr. Terranova is serving in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. After a wedding trip to Massachusetts, the couple will reside with the bride's parents until Mr. Terranova's discharge in May.

  Miss Victoria M. Dingman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dingman Sr. of 4 Water Street, Johnstown, was united in marriage to Joseph Terranova, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Terranova of 366 Bleecker Street, at a ceremony at 10 Saturday morning at Fremont Street United Methodist Church.
  Rev. Albert M. Brockway, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony in the church chapel decorated with white gladioli.
  The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white organza gown over taffeta adorned with Alencon lace applique inserts. It was designed with a lace-edged scoop neckline, long, tapered lacetrimmed sleeves ending in bridal points, a lace and pearl-appliqued bodice and an A-line skirt edged with pearl-trimmed scalloped lace. A detachable cathedral-length train completed the styling.
  The bride's veil was caught to a headpiece of taffeta roses and lace petals. Her bouquet was an arrangement of white pompons, orchid-colored flowers and yellow roses.
  Miss Sherry Reed of Johnstown was maid of honor attired in a pale blue gown trimmed with white lace and a matching flower-patterned headpiece. She carried a bouquet of white pompons, bachelor buttons and yellow daisies.
  Larry Dingman of Johnstown, brother of the bride, was best man.
  The mother of the bride wore a pale blue crepe dress with pleated nylon sleeves. She wore white accessories and a corsage of white pompons and blue
daisies.
  The mother of the bridegroon wore a brown and white flowered floor-length dress with white accessories and a corsage of orchids.
  A reception for 20 was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Giblin, 20 Nassau Street, after the ceremony. Guests attended from Johnstown, Gloversville, Bleecker and Little Falls.
  The bride, a graduate of Johnstown High School, is a sewing machine operator by occupation. The bridegroom, a graduate of Gloversville High School, is employed by the Crown Leather Company in Johnstown.
  The couple is temporarily residing at the home of the bridegroom's parents.

Anna Barkevich

   Anna Miles, 83, formerly of Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, died Saturday at Montgomery Meadows.
   She was born May 6, 1913, in Amsterdam, the daughter of James and Mary Miklonis Barkevich. She attended Amsterdam schools and was a lifelong Amsterdam resident.
   Mrs. Miles was a self-employed seamstress.
   She was married to Clayton Miles. He died in February 1983.
   Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Morales of Amsterdam; a brother, William Barkevich of Amsterdam; a sister, Frances Nolan of Amsterdam; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
   The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rossi Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, Amsterdam, with the Rev. Joseph Grabys officiating.
   Burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery.
   Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

  Mrs. Carrie Cretser, 77, of 8 Saltsman St., St. Johnsville, died Saturday. She had been ill the past two years, and when her condition worsened she was taken to Little Falls Hospital by the St. Johnsville Volunteer Ambulance- Corps, and was pronounced dead on arrival.
  Mrs. Cretser was born in the Town of Ephratah Oct. 19, 1893, a daughter of Ezra and Maggie Yoran Cromer. She had resided in St. Johnsville all of her adult life.
  Her marriage to Benjamin Cretser took place here Feb. 17, 1914, and he died in March, 1966.
   Mrs. Cretser was a glove maker for much of her life, and was last employed by the Glendoe Glove Co. of Gloversville.
  She was a member of St. John's Reformed Church.
  Surviving are a son, Burton Cretser, St. Johnsville; two daughters, Lucy and Mary Cretser, at home; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and one aunt, Mrs. Emma Trumbull, Johnstown.
  The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the H. C. Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Montgomery of Johnstown, former pastor of the United Methodist Church in St. Johnsville, officiating. Burial will be later in St. Johnsville Cemetery.

  Benjamin Cretser, 87, 8 Saltsman Street, died Sunday in Little Falls Hospital, where he had been a patient for one day. He had been in ill health for 17 years.
  He was born Nov. 11, 1888, in the town of Ephratah, the son of Chaucey and Anna Weaver Cretser, and had lived all his life in the St. Johnsville area. He was married Feb. 17, 1914 to Carrie Cromer, who survives.
  He conducted his own business for several years, until his health compelled him to retire.
  The survivors besides his wife are two daughters, Lucy and Mary Cretser who reside at home, and one son. Burton Cretser of St. Johnsville. Four sisters: Mrs. Roy (Mary) Ferguson, Mrs. Arthur (Ruth) Cromer and Mrs. Harvey (Lydia) Fredericks, Lassellsville RD 1; Mrs. George Youngs, Fonda. One brother, Ralph Cretser, Lasselsville RD 1; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews.
  Funeral services were conducted at 2 this afternoon from the Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Montgomery, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the St. Johnsville Cemetery in the spring.

  Mrs. Bessie M Niles, 74, of Ilion died on Tuesday in the Mohawk Valley General Hospital.
   She was born in St. Johnsville, the daughter of Mr/ and Mrs. Myron Sisum but had been a resident of Ilion for the past 45 years. She was married in 1913 to Warren H. Niles. He died in 1953.
  Mrs. Niles was a member of the First Methodist Church in Ilion and it's societies, the WSCS and Mizpah Class. She was also a member of Violet Rebekah Lodge in Ilion.
  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Katheryn Lunch of Ilion.
