FONDA -- The funeral of Mrs. Howard Young, who died at her home north of Fonda, Friday afternoon, was held in the Free Methodist church at Gloversville, Monday afternoon, the Rev. Charles Hollenbeck, pastor of the Scotch Bush church, officiated.
The bearers were: Elwood and Joel Demster of Scotch Bush; Herman and Douglass Young, of Fonda. FONDA, March 14.—Reba Dempster, 33, wife of Howard Young, died suddenly yesterday afternoon about 2 o'clock at her home, north of Fonda. She had been ill for about a week.
Mrs, Young was born August 12, 1903, at Scotch Bush, a daughter of Myron Dempster and Pearl Denure. September 5, 1927, she was united in marriage to Mr. Young at Scotch Bush. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Scotch Bush.
The survivors besides the husband are, two sons, Gilbert and Howard, Jr., and two daughters, Esther and Bessie Young; her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Dempster, Scotch Bush; two brothers, Joel and Elwood Dempster; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Fisher, Miss Dorothy, and Bessie Dempster, all of Scotch Bush, and Mrs. Milo Frasier, Gloversvllle; also several nieces and nephews. The body was moved to the Jackson funeral home where It will remain until Monday when funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. at the Free Methodist Church. Gloversvllle. The Rev. Charles Hollenbeck will officiate.
Interment will be made in Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats.

FONDA -- Gilbert Young, 35, of the Town of Mohawk, died Wednesday morning in a Rome hospital, where he had been a patient since July.
Mr. Young, an adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Young, Fonda R.D., was born Sept. 23, 1928, in the Town of Ephratah, a son of Edward Denure and Flora Dempster Denure. He spent his entire life in this locality, receiving his education in the local schools. Later he was a farmer, working for his step-father. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Gloversville.
Survivors are his father, Edwin Denure; his step-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Young of Fonda R.D.; one step-brother, Howard Young Jr. of Fonda R.D.; two step-sisters, Mrs. Roy Bean of North Chili, N. Y., and Mrs. John Smith of Homer, N. Y.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Jackson funeral home in Fonda. The Rev. Leonard Humbert of the Free Methodist Church of Gloversville will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.

- Funeral Announcement (SCHENECTADY GAZETTE, NY, Monday, June 5, 1972)
BALLSTON SPA -- Merwin M. Barrows, 39, of RD 2, West Mountain Road, Corinth, was pronounced dead at his home at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, apparently from self-inflicted strangulation. He was found by his wife, Mrs. May Belle Barrows, when she arrived home.
Saratoga County Coroner Donald Clark ordered the body removed to the Densmore Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Sgt. Gaylord Brunell, Deputy John De Martino and Investigator James Bowen investigated.
An employe of the International Paper Co., Mr. Barrows was born Oct. 16, 1932, at Lake Luzerne. He was a graduate of Corinth High School and Cobleskill State College and served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from Sept. 9, 1952 to Aug. 9, 1956.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Christine, Colleen and Laura Barrows, and a son, Mark Barrows, all of Cortland; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Barrows of RD 1 Corinth; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Esford of Warrensburg, Miss Martha A. Barrows of Corinth, Mrs. Bernard Senecal of Ithaca and Mrs. Gerald Ellis of Corinth; a brother, Aaron Barrows of South Glens Falls and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. The Rev. Duaine Allen will officiate at the funeral, assisted by the Rev. Charles Applin. Burial will be in Lake Luzerne Cemetery.
Marriage Notes for Bessie Naomi Young and Merwin Martin Barrows

Before an altar banked with palms, gladoli and white pom pons, Miss Bessie Naomi Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Young of Fonda RD, and Seaman First Class Merwin M. Barrows, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Barrows of Corinth, were married Saturday afternoon at 2 in the Free Methodist Church by the Rev. H. P. Thomas, pastor.
While the guests were assembling, Mrs. Leonard L. Sweet played the piano. Among the selections played were "The Sweetest Story Ever Told," "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengin, and Mendelssohn's "Wedding March." Roy Bean, brother-in-law of the bride, sang "I Love You Truly."
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a fitted gown of white satin with fingertip veil of net, edged with lace. She carried a bouquet of white roses and caranations.
Mrs. Roy Bean of Rochester, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a yellow satin gown with fitted bodice, and carried a mixed bouquet.
The bridesmaids were Miss Martha Barrows and Miss Wilda Barrows, sisters of the bridegroom. They were gowned in aqua taffeta and pink satin under tulle, respectively. They also carried mixed bouquets.
Donna Rae Bean and Susan Dianne Bean, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. They wore pink and yellow nylon and carried baskets of mixed flowers.
E. Barrows of Northfield, Mass., was his brother's best man. Ushers were Paul and David Case, cousins of the bride.
The mother of the bride was attired in a black figured nylon gown while the bridegroom's mother wore a gray figured gown. Both mothers wore corsages of red roses.
Following the ceremony a reception was held for 95 guests at the Free Methodist parsonage. The bridal couple cut a 3-tiered cake.
The bride has been employed with Cluett and Peabody at Corinth. She has been guest of honor at several showers.
After a short wedding trip, the couple will reside temporarily at Norfolk, Va., where he is stationed.
Out of town guests were from Tennessee, Rochester, Oneida, Saratoga Springs, Corinth, Glens Falls, Ft. Plain, Northfield Mass., Johnstown, Fonda, Palatine Bridge and Sammonsville.

Edward DeNure. 69. of St. Johnsville R.D. 1. was found dead in a chair at his home yesterday morning, a victim of natural causes.
Fulton County Sheriff Chris Pencheff and Deputy Alton May investigated the death upon being called to the home in the Scotchbush section of the Town of Ephratah at 8:45 a.m.
Dr. Robert S. Kunkel. county coroner, attributed death to natural causes.
Mr. DeNure was a lifelong resident of Scotchbush. where he was born Dec. 4. 1893, a son of Ervin and Sarah Cromer DeNure. He was a self-employed woodsman.
He was a veteran of World War I.
He was married to the Flora Dempster, who is deceased.
Surviving are two sisters, Miss Jennie DeNure. Scotchbush, and Mrs. Carrie Westley, Johnstown.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith funeral home in St. Johnsville by the Rev. Joseph Bono of Frankfort. Burial will be in Fickal Cemetery. Scotchbush.

Miles Frasier Sr., 67, Randall, died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital. Amsterdam, where he was admitted that day
He was bom at Osborne bridge, son of George and Lois Roosevelt Frasier, and for the last 20 years resided in Randall He was employed by the state highway department the last 20 years, retiring in February 1973.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Florence Dempster Frasier; two sons. Miles Frasier Jr., Palatine Bridge RD 1; and Delos Frasier of Sprakers RD 1; eight sisters, Mrs. Mildred Sleezer, Mrs. Susan Dannylak, Miss Abbie Frasier and Mrs. Mary Frasier, all of Gloversville, Mrs. Isabelle White, Broadalbin, Mrs. Jessie Sleezer, Toms River, N.J., Mrs. Nellie Grandy, Canajoharie, and Mrs. Florence Simonds, Meco; three brothers, Allen Frasier, Gloversville, Oswald Frasier, Fultonville and John Frasier, Perth, four grandchildren, a great-grandson, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p m. tomorrow at the Cole Funeral Home by the Rev Edward Lecates, pastor of Pilgrim Holiness Church, Northville. Calling hours will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service Canajoharie.
