  CANAJOHARIE - Mrs. Lillian Wohlegemuth, 92, of Ephratah died Tuesday in her home after a long illness.
  Mrs. Wohlgemuth was the daughter of Alfred and Alice Saltsman Allen. She attended rural schools in Ephratah and graduated in 1902 from the Teachers' Training Class in Johnstown. Her Husband Claude, died in February.
 She was a teacher for two years before getting married. For 30 years she and her husband operated the Wohlgemuth homestead in the McKinley district, Town of Palatine. On retirieng theyreturned to her farm in Ephratah.
  Mrs. Wohlgemouth was a member of the Canajoharie Reformed Church; the Ladises Society of the Ephratah Reformed Church and served several years as superintendent of the Ephratah Cemetery.
  She leaves two sons, Karl of Canajoharie and Donald of Fultonville and a daughter Miss Ruth Wohlgemouth of Ephratah.
  The funeral will be at 2 tomorrow in the Huoghtaling Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery.

 Obituary (The Daily Press, Utica, NY, Thursday, February 21, 1974)
  EPHRATAH - Claude P. Wohlgemuth, 96, a retired farmer, died yesterday in Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.
  He was born in the Town of Palatine. He married Lillian F. Allen in 1904. Mr. Wohlgemuth had operated the family farm in the Town of Palatine until 1935 when he retired and moved to Ephratah. He was a director of the Farmers Cooperative Fire Insurance for the Town of Palatine for 50 years.
  He was a member of the Canajoharie Reformed Church.
   Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Karl of Canajoharie and Donald of Fultonville and a daughter, Miss Ruth Wohlgemuth of Ephratah.
  The funeral will be at 2 Saturday from the Lenz Funeral Home, Canajoharie, with burial later in Fort Plain Cemetery.
  Calling hours are 7 to 9 Friday night.

  Miss Ruth A. Wohlgemuth, 83, of Ephratah, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after a long illness.
  She was born in McKinley and was a 1928 graduate of Gloversville High School. In 1931, she graduated Nathan Littauer Hospital School of Nursing.
  For 10 years she was employed at many area hospitals and was later employed as a nurse for Beech-Nut Nutrition Corp., Canajoharie, retiring in 1965.
  Miss Wohlgemuth was a member of the New York State Registered Nurses Association and member of Ephratah Reformed Church.
  Survivors include her twin brother, Karl A. Wohlgemuth of Canajoharie; a and nephew.
  No calling hours were observed. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery in the spring.

  At the parsonage of the Fremont Street M. E. church Saturday morning the Rev. G. C. Douglass performed the ceremony uniting in marriage Miss Nettie M. Allen and Mr. Clarence Stewart, both of Gloversville. The full ring service was used and only members of the families were present. A wedding dinner followed the ceremony. The young people are well and favorably known, Mr. Stewart being a leather dresser, whose place of business is at the corner of Forest and Gas streets, and his bride is a young lady who has a wide circle of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart left on the 1:30 train for a trip to the west, and upon their return will reside at the home of the bride's father, Elijah V. Allen.

 - Obituary
  Mrs. Cora Christman, 93, formerly of Fort Plain RD 2, died late Saturday evening in the Fulton County Infirmary, Johnstown RD, after a long illness.She was born March 30, 1889, in the Town of Palatine, the daughter of the late William and Libbie Allen Fox, and was a lifetime resident of that township until ill health resulted in her entering the infirmary in 1967.
She was employed at home as a glove worker for many years and had assisted her husband, the late Morris Christman in the operation of a dairy farm. The couple was married in 1908.
  She was a member of the Stone Arabia Reformed Church and the Ladies Aid of the church.
  Survivors include two sons, J.W. Christman, Fort Plain RD 2, and Owen Christman, Palatine Bridge RD 1; a daughter, Mrs. William (Evelyn) Vogel, Fort Plain RD 2; six grandchildren; six great ­grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews. Another son, Harlow Christman, predeceased his mother.
  Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, Inc., with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Plain, officiating. Interment was made in the Fort Plain Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid-County Volunteer Am­bulance Service.

 - Stone Arabia Man Killed When Car and Truck Crash (Fort Plain Standard April 23, 1942)
  Morris Christman, 57, Instantly Killed; Funeral In Fort Plain Friday
  Morris Christman, 57, farmer of the Stone Arabia section, was instantly killed at 8:55 Tuesday morning when his car was struck by a westbound truck on Route 5 at the junction of that road with Wagner's Hollow road. The truck was driven by Herbert Davis and owned by his employer, Floyd Groff, of St. Johnsville. Accor ding to Sheriff Gerald K. Nellis’ report after he had conducted an investigation assisted by William J. Green, County Investigator, Mr. Christman, leaving the Wagners Hollow Road, which is on the north side of the highway, attempted to turn east and that he was proceeding slowly. His car was hit by the westbound truck and thrown forward diagonally about 60 feet across the three strip concrete coming to a stop against a stone fence close to the south side of the pavement.
  The truck was also thrown towards the south and overturned, coming to a stop on its side, and headed east. The body of Christman was removed from the wreckage of his car after some delay and taken to a funeral home.
  Davis had been to the Fort Plain milk factory, where he had delivered the morning’s supply of milk from the Groff farm, and was returning with the empty cans.
   Mr. Christman was born In Ephratah on October 6, 1884, the son of Jacob I. and Emma Smith Christman. He had since resided In the Ephratah and Stone Arabia section. The survivors include his widow (Cora Fox), three sons, John W. (J.W.) of Stone Arabia, Harlow of Ephratah, and Owen at home; one daughter, Mrs. William Vogel (Evelyn) of Canajoharie; three brothers, William of Ulster, Pa., Ward and Larkin of Ephratah; four sisters, Mrs. Ward Holland (Lizzie), of Fort Plain, Mrs. Jennie Saltsman of Stone Arabia, Mrs. Oscar Stoss and Mrs Alton Abel (Florence) of Sammonsville. The funeral will be held at the Gray funeral home in Fort Plain Friday, at 2 p. m. Burial will be in Plain Cemetery.

  Funeral Services for Mrs Sarah May Erickson were held from the Wilcox Methodist church Friday, December 24, at two o’clock. The Rev. Carl A. Rayburn officiated. Interment was at the Wilcox cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Alvah Long, W. W. Wohlgemuth and Ernest Rosier, all of Holdrege, George Beltel, Bert Crandall and Donald Krauss, all of Wilcox.
  Mrs. Sarah May Erickson was born on May 28, 1880 in Ephratah, New York and departed this life on December 21, 1948. She suffered a severe heart attack in the home of an invalid friend in Lincoln.
  At the age of eight months she was brought from NewYork to Wilcox by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Snell, who homesteaded in that community.
  She spent the remainder of  her life there with the exception of five years which were lived in Fonda, New York, between the ages of  12 and 17.
  She was united in marriage with Wilber R Erickson on January 14, 1903, in the Holdrege Methodist parsonage. To this union were born six children one of whom died in early infancy. Those surviving are Mrs. Elaine Osier, Ft Collins, Colo., Mrs. Leonora Lundquist, Funk, Donald, Chicago, Ill, Gilbert, Lincoln, and Dewaine, Syracuse. Her grandchildren, four in number are Charles Erickson, Judy Erickson, Bobby Erickson and Linda May Erickson. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Murna Johnson, Hamilton, Ind. and one brother Alva Snell, Denver, Colo.; also two aunts Mrs. LaGrange and Alida Snell of Johnstown N. Y.
  Her husband preceded her in death four years ago this coming May.
  In the year 1920 Mrs Erickson was refceived into the Wilcox Methodist church by baptism and remained a devout Christain to the end. Through the years she served the church in various capacities and at one time was president of the Women’s Society of Christian Service.
   That she was a good neighbor, a true mother and consecrated Christian is attested by the noble influence and godly exmple of her life. she will be greatly missed not only by her relatives but also by her acquaintances and friends.
  Her whole life of kindness and service was symbolized in her very last act of mercy in helping to take care of and invalid friend, Mrs. Weston, Lincoln.
  Mrs. Erickson's place in the community and inthe hearts of all who knew her can never be filled again. But she has entered the Heavenly city on high; she has received the crown of righteousness which fades not away.

  Last Rites Are Held 1 For Wilber Erickson
  Rev N. C. Hansen officiated at the funeral: services for Wilber Erickson at the Methodist church in Wilcox. He Was assisted by Rev Wallace Humphris D. D.
   A male quarter sang "Rock of Ages” Beitel Swanson Fuerst Wishmier and Mrs. S. J. Olson sang  'The Old Rugged Cross” Mrs. Franz Amman accompanied them at the piano. Pallbearers were Henry Mennenga, Fred Laupp, Hugo Aspegren, Wally Wohlgemuth, Bert Crandall and Alvah Long.
  Burial was made in the Wilcox cemetery. The Zulauf Funeral home were in charge.
  Wilbur R. Erickson was born November 9th 1879 in Phelps County, Nebraska the only son of Mr. and Mrs. A Erickson. He passed away at his home in Franklin County on May 12, 1945 after a heart attack.
 On January 14th, 1903 he was united in marriage to Sarah May Snell daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Snell of Wilcox. They farmed one year in Phelps county then moved to the Hiram Snell homestead in Franklin County in 1904 where the family were residing at the time of Mr Erickson’s death.
  He is survived by his widow and five children Lenora of Holdrege Donald of Chicago Gilbert and Elaine of Lincoln, Corporal DeWaine U. S. Army aircorps. A daughter born in 1912 died in infancy. Others surviving are two grandchildren Judy and Charles Erickson of Lincoln two sisters Mrs: Otto Lindstrom of Wilcox and Mrs Irene Whitaker of Sacramento California.
  He had been a faithful and active member of the Wilcox Methodist church, a promoter of civil afairs in his county and was active in public affairs in the Wilcox community. He was a loving husband and father and a good neighbor.
  Wilcox and community were shocked to head the sad news of his death, last Saturday evening, for he had been in town on Friday evening, seemingly in good health. As Mrs. Erickson had gone to Lincoln for a few days to visit her children, Mr. Erickson was the only one at home. When their neighbor Henry Mennenga had seen no sign of life at th eErickson farm all day he went over in the evening to investigate, and found Mr. Erickson laying on the floor in the last sleep. He had been preparing his breakfast when the call came.

  Miss Flaine May Erickson of Wilcox. Nebraska, was united in marriage on September 7 in the wedding, chapel of St. Paul's Methodist church in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Robert Donald Osier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Osier of Imperial, Nebraska.
  The bride's mother, Mrs. Mae Erickson, and her sister, Mis Lenora Erickson, of Wilcox, Nebraska, are at present visiting relatives here.
  The bride as a great granddaughter of the late Daniel and Sarah Allen Snell of Ephratah and
Thomas and Anna Montgomery of Albany Bush. She is a niece of Mrs. Grace La Grange and Mrs. Alida Snell of this city.
   The bride was given in marriage by her twin brother, Dewaine R. Erickson.
  The bridegroom is completing work toward his masters degree at Colorado A. & M.
   Mrs. Osier attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from the Lincoln School of Commerce. She is a member of Beta Sigma Phi
   Mr, Osier attended Oklahoma A. & M. and graduated from the University of Nebraska's College of Agnculture in June. He is a member of Aplha Gamma Rho and Sigma Xi.

  Alva Snell, 78, Denver, Colo., former barber died at Denver Saturday evening, July 6 and funeral services were conducted there July 9 with interment at Denver.
  Mr. Snell is survived by his wife Anna; a son Dale of Detroit; a daughter, Mrs. Bert (Doris) Stover, Denver; a sister, Mrs Chester (Murna) Johnson, Hamilton, Ind.; grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, among them, Mrs. Clifford Lundquist, Funk and DeWaine Erickson, Wilcox.
  Born at Wilcox in 1885, he spent most of his life in Colorado after working as a barber in Arapahoe for a number of years. He had owned his own barber shop in Denver until last December when he suffered a stroke

  Darrell E. Johnson, 78, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 5, 2017 at his home in Hamilton, Indiana.
  He was born November 23, 1938 in Steuben County to Chester E. and Murna (Snell) Johnson. He graduated from Pleasant Lake High School in 1957.
  Darrell married Connie Crowl on June 26, 1960.
  He worked at Moore Business Forms from 1958-1994 and retired from Schust Mechanical Systems.
  He served his country in the US Army and the US Army Reserves. He was a member of the Hamilton American Legion Post 467.
  He was a member of the Alvarado United Methodist Church, Hamilton, Indiana and a former member of the Steuben County Antique Power Association.
  Darrell was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He enjoyed flying, his tractors, camping, riding his 4 wheeler and traveling. Most of all he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and his twin great-granddaughters.
  Surviving is his wife, Connie Johnson of Hamilton; son, Dennison (Lori Bailey) Johnson of Hamilton; daughter, Danielle Chorpenning of Hamilton; brother, Donald (Leora) Johnson of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Samantha (Cody) Portner, Daine Johnson, Evan Johnson and Noah Johnson and his two twin great-granddaughters, Lexi and Remi Portner.
  Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana with Pastor Lucretia Snyder and Pastor Bill Harnish officiating.
  Military Honors by the Hamilton American Legion Post 467 and burial will be at Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, Indiana.
  Visitation will be from 3-8 PM Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Weicht Funeral Home and from 10-11 AM, Friday, March 10, 2017 at the funeral home prior to the service.
  Memorials may be made to the Alvarado United Methodist Church, Hamilton American Legion Post 467 or DeKalb Hospice, 1316 E. 7th Street, Auburn, IN 46706
