Marriage Notes for Anna Laurie Bettinger and Floyd Vinal Allis
- Wedding Announcement (Madison County News, Chittenango, NY, Friday, August 17, 1906)
On Wendesday, August 15th, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cady Bettinger on Seneca Avenue, was the scene of a very pretty wedding when their youngest daughter, Annie Laurie, was given in marriage to Floyd Vinal Allis, son of Mr. and Mrs Joel Allis of Canastota. The bride was becomingly gowned in a white dotted swiss and carried a shower boquet of lilies and asparagus fern. The ceremony was performed under an arch of evergreen and clematis, the decorative scheme being green and white. Asters, ferns and clematis were used in profusion throughout the rooms.
The officiating clergyman was Rev. Frank B. Duvall of the M. E. church of Chlttenango. The bridal couple were preceded by Miss Ruth and Master Clarke Bettinger, the little niece and nephew of the bride. After congratulations had been received the wedding party and guests were invited to a tent on the lawn where refreshments were served.
The bride's going away gown was a green broadcloth. The bridal couple left in an automobile for Oneida where they took the train for Utica. They will also visit Boston and other points of interest in the New England states.
The happy young people were the recipient of some very pretty gifts, including silver, linen and a goodly amount of money.
