Marriage Notes for Gertrude Hess and William R Evans

 - Herald Dispatch, Utica, NY, Saturday, June 27, 1903)
  Happily Married After All
William R Evans, the young man who shot himself at the home of his sweetheart in Trenton a few weeks ago, has entirely recovered from the effects of the self-inflicted wound, and last Wesnesday evening was united in marriage to Miss Gertrude Hess, the young lady whose refusal to consent to an immediate union caused him to attempt the end of his life. The affair thus has a happier ending than at one time seemed likely. The weeding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Hess, in Trenton village, and the Rev. M. E. Genter was the officiating clergyman.
