  Funeral services will be held this afternoon for Mrs. Ruth Clemens Calman, Frankfort, who died Monday, following a lomg illness. Services will be conducted from the home and interment will be in Oakview cemetery.
  Mrs. Calman Was born in Pierrpont Manor, daughter of A. M. (sic) and Sarah Taber (sic) Lamson. She moved to Frankfort 30 years ago, her first husband, the late Chauncey Clemens being employed at the Frankfort Fork and Hoe Co. Mr. Clemens death occurred, two years ago and last year she married Angus Calman of Frankfort.
  She was a member ot the Methodist Church, its Ladies' Aid Society, Eva Nipe Bible Class, the Frankfort Rehekah Lodge, Past Noble Grands Association, Fort Dayton Grange of Herkimer and the Herkimer County Pomona Grange.
  Surviving in addition to her husband, is a daughter, Grace Clemens, New York a student in a nursing school. Her son, Harold Clemens, was killed a year ago in an automobile accident.

   The angel of death has again entered our community and removed one of the most respected and esteemed residents, Mrs. Ruth C. Calman, who passed away at her home in Henderson Sunday morning July 10. Deceased had been ill since the tragic death of her son who was killed in an automobile assident October 17 of last year.
  Ruth Clemens was born in Pierrepont Manor, New York, May 20 1881, daughter of A. M. and Sarah Taber Lamson. after her marriage to Chauncey Clemens, they resided in Herkimer, after which they moved to Frankfort and lived there until his death in 1936. Of this marriage two children were born, Harold who passed away last October and Miss Grace Clemens who is a student nurse in New York City.
  On October 9, 1937, deceased was united in marriage to Angus Calman. On their return from a honeymoon in Washington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Calman stopped in Auburn to visit Mrs. Calman's son Harold, who was acting as clerk in a drug store. The store was closed and after some inquiry learned that he had been killed the day before in Poughkeepsie.
  Mrs. Calman was a member of the Frankfort Methodist Church, Its Ladies' Aid Society, Eva Nipe Bible Class, Frankfort Rehekah Lodge, Past Noble Grands Association, Fort Dayton Grange of Herkimer and the Herkimer County Pomona Grange.
  Although deceased had lived in this community but a short time, she had won the admiration and esteem of the residents of this village No one could meet Mrs. Calman without being impressed with her pivety, refinement and strong Christian character.
  Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Grace Clemens of New York City; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Harold Clemens of  New York City; five stepsons, Ray, Harold, Charle s and Edgar of Henderson and John of Edmeston; one sister, Mrs. Henry Platt of Ilion, and one brother, Edward Lamson of Syracuse.
  The funeral services were held Thursday, July 14, from the home, the Reverend J . O. Sypher of Frankfort officiating, assisted by Rev. William Caldwell of Herkimer. Burial was made in Oakview Cemetery, Frankfort.
  The sympathy of the community is extended to those who are left to moarn the loss of a dear one.


Marriage Notes for Chauncey H Clemens and Ruth T Lamson

 - Wedding Announcement (Utica Herald-Dispatch, NY, Friday, September 11, 1903)
  A wedding in which two well known yeung Frankfort people were the contracting parties, was solemnised at the home of the bride last evening, when Chauncey H. Clemens Jr., of this village and Miss Ruth Lawson of Eaat Frankfort were united In marriage by the Rev. W. McCook. The home was prettily decorated with evergreen and golden rod for the occasion. Miss Nettie Clemens, sister of the bride, played the wedding march. The bride was attended by Miss Kate Lewis of this village and Edward Lameon was best man. At the close of the Ceremony a fine wedding supper was served. The presents were numerous and costly. About one hundred guests were present from the Mohawk Valley towns. Mr. and Mrs. Clemens will spend their wedding trip at Alexander Bay, and on their return will take up their residence in this village.


 - Wedding Announcement (The Utica Observer, NY, Friday, September 11, 1903)
  Frankfort, Sept. 11 (Special) - Nearly a hundred guests were assembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Lamson, in East frankfort, Wednesday evening, when their daughter, Miss Ruth Lamson, became the bride of Chaundey H. Clemens Jr., of this place. Rev. William E. Cook of Ilion performed the ceremony, and the couple were attended by Miss Kate Lewis of Frankfort and Edward Lamson, a brother of the bride. The house was attractively decorated with evergreen and golden rod and during the ceremony the bridal couple stood beneath a floral bell, suspended from an arch of golden rod and evergreen. The wedding march was played by Miss Nellie Clemens, sister of the groom. The bride was gowned in white organza, with white ---- and carried white roses, and the bridesmaid ---- in light blue organdie and carried ---. May Handsom presents were recieved and a bountiful repast was served after the ceremony.
  Mr. and Mrs. Clemons have gone to Canada and will also visit the Thousand Islands. Upon their return they will live on Litchfield street, and will be at home to friends after September 21.

  Malcolm J. Cameron, 76. formerly of 416 N. Washington St., died today at Herkimer Memorial Hospital after a long illness,
   He was born at Deseronto, Ontario. Canada, on Sept. 14, 1881, a son of James and Rosanna Haggerty Cameron, and moved with his family to Rochester at the age of 10. He later attended Utic School of Commerce.
  In 1900 he moved to Frankfort, where he bacame a member of the Frankfort Election Board, In Frankfort, on april 12, 1902, he married the former Maude Clemons, who died Feb. 21, 1956.
  For more than 20years he was employed by the Remington arms Co. in Ilion, retiring several years ago. He was a member of the Frankfort IOOF Lodge, exempt member of the Frankfort Fire Department, and a communicant of Christ Episcopal Church here.
  Surviving ate two sons, Maynard H Cameron, Mohawk, and James C Cameron, Kingston; one daughter, Mrs. Edwin Beckingham, East Springfield; three sisters, Jessie Lowe, Ilion; Mae Robbins, Frankfort; Jennie Lowe, Schenectady; five grandshildren; two great-grandchildren; several cousins.
  Services will be conducted Monday at the Fenner Funeral Home, time to be announced, by the Rev. George G. Greenway, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, Mohawk, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

  Frankfort, April 30, (Special) - At 8 o'clock last evening, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Clemens on Litchfield street, occurred the marriage of their eldest daughter, Maud L., to Malcolm James Cameron. The ceremony was performed by Rev. William Cook of llion in the presence of about forty guests and relatives. Miss Ruth Lamson of llion was bridesmaid and the best man was C. H. Clemens, Jr., brother of the bride. The parlors had been prettily decorated with flowers and evergreen, and the bridal party took their places beneath the evergreen arch, as the wedding march was played by Miss Nettle Clemens. After warmest congratulattons had been extended an elaborate repast was served. Mr. and Mrs. Cameron left on a late train last evening for New York.

  Mrs. Floyd L. Clemens, 54, a director of the Watervliet Civic Center and a resident of 600-2nd St., died Saturday afternoon at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.
  She was born in Norway, N. Y., and moved to Watervliet in 1942 after residing in Herkimer. She had worked for the New York State Dept. of Health for 13 years and at her death was a senior laboratory worker.
  Mrs. Clemens was a member of the Jermain Memorial Presbyterian Church, a past president of the Schuyler Park Welfare Society and a member of the Herkimer Lodge of Rebekahs,
  Survivors are her husband, Floyd L. Clemens of Watervliet; a son, Richard N. Clemens; and a daughter, Mrs. William B. Cornell of Eagle Mills.
  Funeral services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home, Watervliet, where Rev. Sherwood E. Carver, pastor of Eagle Mills Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.

  Herkimer, April 21 - MJss Hazel Nichols, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Nichols of Norway and Floyd L. Clemons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey A. Clemens of 211 Steuben St. were married in this village this afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents. The Rev. Merton J. Hibbard, pastor of the M. E. Church officiated at the ceremony. Miss Alice M. Fowler of Little Falls, a student at the Skidmore school of Arts, was the bridesmaid, and Harold Clemens of Herkimer, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man.
  The bride wore a brown French net over gold cloth and carried a bouquet of bride's roses. The bridesmaid wore olive green canton crepe and carried sweet peas. Miss Margaret Dittmar of Little Falls played Lohengrin's wedding march. Followng the ceremony a reception and dinner was given at the home of the bride's parents after which Mr. and Mrs. Clemens left for a honeymoon in the western part of the State. Upon their return they will reside in Litte Falls.
  The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Nichols and is a graduate of the Little Falls High School For two years she was employed in the office of Town Clerk Edward Beckingham here and is now bookkeeper for the Bowman Motor Car Company of Little Falls. Mr. Clemens is wellknown here for having attended the Herkimer High School. He is employed as a toolmaker in Frankfort.

  Mrs. Harold L. Carr of New Turnpike road announces the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter, Miss Ave Marie Simpson, to Richard N. Clemens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd L. Clemens of 600 2nd St, Watervliet.
  Miss Simpson is a graduate of Lansingburg High School and is presently employed in the payroll division of the General Electric Co. in Schenectady.
  Her fiance was graduated from Watervliet High School, served two years with the Navy and is employed in the research laboratory of Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. in Watervliet.

  Miss Barbara Mary Clemens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd L. Clemens, 600 2nd St., Watervliet, was married this morning to William B. Cornell, son of Mr. and Mrs. William O. Cornell, 208 6th Ave., Watervliet Rev. Norman A. Wilson performed the ceremony at Jermain Memorial Presbyterian Church, which was decorated with palms and mixed flowers.
  A pure silk organza gown with fitted bodice, long pointed sleeves, and a lace and pearl trimmed Sabrina neckline was chosen by the bride. Her pearl embroidered cap held a waist length veil of illusion, and she carried a white orchid with lilies of the valley and baby carnations.
  Miss Mary Van Alstine, maid of honor, and Miss Marlene Nichols, bridesmaid for her cousin, wore floor-length gowns of turquoise crystalette and carried cascades of yellow daisies.
  James F. Hutchinson was best man. Acting as ushers were Francis Miner and Paul R. Jones.
  For the reception at The Boradaile, the mother of the bride wore gray organza over pink silk with pink accessories and a corsage of pink flowers. Wearing a similar corsage and a gray taffeta dress with blue accessories was the mother of the bridegroom.
  A graduate of Watervliet High School and Union University School of Nursing, the bride is a member of the faculty of the Albany Medical College School of Nursing. Her husband, a graduate of Watervliet High School, is employed by Alleghany Ludlum Steel Corp.
  With the bride wearing a princess style dress of candlelight beige with matching coat and accessories and an orchid, the couple left on a wedding trip to the Pocono Mountains and Washington, DC. They will reside in Watervliet.

  Herkimer—Mrs. Mary Palmer, 57, a former art teacher in Frankfort high school, died Apr. 20, 1943 in her home 418 North Prospect, following a long illness.
   She was born in Herkimer, daughter of William A. and Clara  Wiever Oster. She was a graduate of Herkimer high school and College of Fine Arts, Syracuse University.
  She taught art in Frankfort for many years. she was a member of the First Methodist Church, its Fidelis Philathea Class, Myrtle Chapter, OES, and Chi Omega sorority of Syracuse University.
  She was married to Llewlyn Palmer Sept. 16 1916.
  Beside her mother and husband she leaves two daughters, Miss Louise Palmer, night supervisor in Faxton Hospital, Utica and Miss Charlotte Palmer, student nurse and a son Theodore at home and four sisters Mrs. Sherwood Allen, Glens Falls, Mrs. Howard Weir, Richfield Springs, Mrs. Walter French and Mrs. Duard Henderson both of Herkimer.
  Funeral services will be condusted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Fenner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

  Llewellyn D. Palmer, of 418 1/2 N. Prospect St., died yesterday in Herkimer Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.
  He was born in North Greenwich, Conn., March 7, 1888, the son of E. Llewellyn and Roxa Savage Palmer. He attended the Centenary Collegiate Institute and Syracuse University. He married Mary Folts here on Sept. 16, 1916 and had been a resident of Herkimer since his marriage. Mrs. Palmer died April 19, 1943.
  Mr. Palmer was employed by the New York Central Railroad for many years, retiring in 1954, as a clerk. He was a member of the Herkimer Masonic Lodge and had bowled for 53 consecutive years in the Masonic Bowling League.
  He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway, Airline and Steamship Clerks. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
  He leaves one son, Theodore Palmer. Mohawk; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Louise) Miles, Herkimer, and Mrs. Wallace (Charlotte Randall, Stoneridge, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Rice, Denver, Col., and Mrs. Eva Flynn, San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from the Fenner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merle O. Brown, pastor of the United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Wallace Randall, pastor of Rondout Valley United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
  Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., tomorrow. Masonic Services will be held at 7:30 p.m., tomorrow at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.

  The home of Mrs. Joseph Oster at 414 Henry street was the scene of a pretty nuptial event Saturday afternoon, when Miss Mary Folts became the bride of Llewellyn D. Palmer. The rooms were tastefully decorated with goldenrod and cut flowers. The Rev. J. S. Wilde officiated at the ceremony which took place at 4:30 o'clock in the presence of assembled relatives and intimate friends of the contractng parties. A wedding repast was served after the ceremony, following which Mr. and Mrs. Palmer left for a honeymoon trip at Detroit, Mich., and other points of interest. The bride is a native Herkimer young woman, a graduate of the local High School and of Syracuse University, holding membership in the Chi Omega sorority. She enjoys a wide circle of friendship and popularity and holds the esteem of all who know her. Mr. Palmer, a former resident of New York, has been for a considerable time a member of the office force at the New York Central freight house. He is also a graduate of Syracuse University and a member of Alpha Chi Rho. He has earned the cordial regard of all because of his manifestation of sterling qualities. Upon their return to Herkimer, Mr. and Mrs. Pelmer will reside at 437 Henry street.

  MOHAWK Theodore F. Palmer, 49, a 25-year employe of the New York Telephone Co., in the Ilion office, died yesterday in his home at 79 Columbia St.
  Herkimer County Coroner Gilbert Upright said death was due to natural causes.
  Mr. Palmer was born in Herkimer on Feb 7, 1925, the son of Llewellyn and Mary Folts Palmer. He was graduated from Herkimer High School and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy as a sonarman in the South Pacific.
  He was a member of Herkimer Lodge, F&AM, the Masonic Fellowcraft and bowling team; a member of the telephone company's 25-Year Club and the New York Telephone Pioneers. He was also a member of Crowley Barnum American Legion Post and the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club and a member of the Mohawk Reformed Church.
  He leaves two sisters, Mrs Frank (Louise) Miles, Herkimer, and Mrs. Wallace (Charlotte) Randall, of Central Valley, and two nieces and two nephews.
  Funeral services w ill be at 1 p m tomorrow from the Fenner Funeral Home, Herkimer, with the Rev, Richard VanderBorgh, pastor of the Mohawk Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer.

  Miss Joan Elizabeth Howe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Forrest Howe of Amsterdam, became the bride of Theodore Folts Palmer of Herkimer in a ceremony at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Amsterdam last Saturday afternoon. The Rev. M. C. T. Andreae officiated.
  Palmer is the son of Llewellyn D. Palmer of Herkimer.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white marquisette over a bodice of Alencon lace with a flared jacket of the same lace forming a large buterfly bow.
  The matron of honor was Mrs. Frank Collison of Richfield Springs. The bridesmaids were Miss Caroline Schianghetti and Miss Betty Guyan, both of Amsterdam. Miss Jean Louise Miles, niece of the bridegroom was flower girl.
  Frank Collison of Richfield Springs was best man. Ushers were Forrest Howe, brother of the bride and Duard Henderson, cousin of the bridegroom.
  Following a reception at the home of the bride’s parents, the couple left on a wedding trip.
  The bride is a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School and attended Oswego State Teachers College. The bridegroom, a graduate of Herkimer High School, spent three years in the Navy and is now employed by the New York Telephone Company.
  After May 1, the couple will make their home at 418 1/2 Prospect St. in Herkimer.

   Frederick W. Folts died recently at his home in Herkimer of sleeping sickness. This disease is almost unheard of in this part of the country. Mr. Folts is a veteran of the World war, having served in the Panama canal zone. He was thirty-nine years old.

  Herkimer, Oct. 26 - Frederick William folts, 39, 511 Park Avenue, died at his home Tuesday after being ill nine weeks.
  He was the son of Mrs. Clara Folts Oster and the late William P. Folts. July 24 he married Miss Delia Fuller of Herkimer. During the World War he enlisted in Company E of the Third Engineers and served three years in the Panama Canal Zone. During the last 20 years he had been employed by the New York Central Railroad as a stationary Engineer. He was a member of the American Legion, Herkimer Lodge 423, F. & A. M., and of theirst Baptist Church.
  Besides his wife he leaves two children, Frederick William and Helen Elizabeth; five sisters, Mrs. L. D. Palmaer, Mrs. Walter French, Mrs. Duard Henderson of this village, Mrs. J. H. Weirr of Richfield Springs and Mrs S. D. Allen of Chazy.

  ... Referee Richards dismissed the case of the estate of Frederick W. Folts versus the New York Central Railroad Company, on the grounds that at the time of the alleged accidant the employer and employe were engaged in interstate commerce and so the State industrial Board is wthout jurisdiction. Delilah Folts, widow of Frederick Folts; John Mamer, supervisor of bridges and buildings of the New York Central Railroad Company; William P. Davis, master mechanic, and George A. Leneger, train dispatcher, testified. It was claimed that Felts was overcome by heat while cleaning out a boiler, July 27, 1926. He died September 7.

  Mrs. J. Howard Weir, active in civic and church afairs in this village tor many years, died at her home, 30 East Main Street, on Tuesday, September 5, following a long illness.
  Nellie Sophia Folts was born in East Herkimer, a daughter of William P. Folts and Clara Wieber. She was a granddaughter of Sophia Metzger and Dr. Lucina Lawrence Folts. She was graduated from Herkimer High School and Folts Mission Institute in 1911.
  On October 2, 1912 sne was married to J. Howard Weir. They resided in Herkimer for a few years and came to Richfield Springs over thirty years ago and boughtthe former Dr. Horace Manley house which they operated as a tourist home.
  Mrs. Weir was active in community affairs. During World War II she was chairman of War Bond campaigns and after the war, headed drives for collection of emergency food supplies for overseas distribution. She was an organizer and charter member and director for several years of the Richiield Springs Chamber of Commerce.
  A life-long Republican, Mrs. Weir was the first candidate ever nominated for village trustee. She served for over fifteen years as an inspector on the Board of Elections in District 1 and several years as chairman of the Board.
  Mrs. Weir was a member of the First Methodist Church and its W.S.C.S.; Myrtle Chapter, O.E.S. in Herkimer; a charter member and past president of the Richfield Springs Garden Club and an active member of the M.I.B. Hospital Women's Auxiliary.
  Mrs. Weir was a great lover of flowers and won awards in 1911 in the Folts Mission Institute Flower Show in Herkimer. She took an especial interest in keeping The First Methodist dhurch supplied with floral arrangements.
  Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. John Debes III of Syracuse; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Sherwood Allen of Glens Falls; Mrs. Walter French and Mrs. Duard Henderson of Herkimer. A son, John Howard Weir, Jr., died January 1, 1953.
  The funeral will be at 2:30 Friday from The First Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley e. Smith officiating. Burial will in Lakeview Cemetery.
  Calling hours at the McGrath Funeral home will be from 8 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday afternoon and evening.
  Mrs. Weir had requested that in place of flowers contributions bemade to a Memorial Fund at the First Methodist Church.

  John Howard Weir, 8l, long time resident of this area, died Thursday, April 29, in the Rochester Methodist Home in Rocheater. His health had been failing for several years. A memorial service will be held in the Methodist Church at Richfield Springs at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22.
  Born in South Columbia on Sept. 25, 1890, Mr. Weir was the son of James Alvin Weir and the grandson of the Rev. John W. Young. As a boy and young man he  lived in Richfield Springs and Herkimer, attending Herkimer high school.
  He married Nellie Folts of Herkimer on Oct. 2, 1912. They moved to Richfield Springs in 1923 where they converted the old spring house at the corner of East Main and Manley Streets into a tourist home. As proprietors, the Weirs took an active interest in the affairs of the community for many years until Mrs. Weir's death in 1961. As members and leaders they participated in Methodist Church, the Chamber of Commerce, and many other organizations.
  Mr. Weir was a licensed chiropractor and an agent for the Northwestern Mutual life Insurance Co. Consequently he became widely known in the area. In his latter years, Mr. Weir was employed by the US post office in Richfield Springs.
   The Weirs had two children; The younger, John Howard Jr., served in the Air Force in England during World War II. He married Ann Joslyn, former tax collector of this community. He died prematurely on New Years Day 1953, leaving his wife and Three children, now residing in California.
  Their daughter, Jane Folts Weir, is a psychiatric nurse, and married John L. Debes III of Rochester. Through them, Mr. Weir had four grandchildren, all residents of the Rochester area.
  Mr. Weir was a Mason for over fifty years, a member of Herkimer Lodge No. 423 F&A.M. Mrs. Weir was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
  Interment will be in the family, plot in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends wishing to do so may contribute to the Richfield Springs Public Library.

  Mrs. Jessie L. Allen, 38 Sanford St., Glens Falls, who leaves two sisters in Herkimer, died in Glens Falls Hospital on Saturday.
  She was bom in Herkimer, a daughter of William P. and Clara Folts. She was married to Sherwood Allen, formerly of Frankfort. He died in 1956.
  Mrs. Allen, an Albany State Teacher College graduate, taught home economics at Savannah, Ga. and New Lisbon, Wis., prior to her marriage. She was a member
of the Glens Falls First Presbyterian Church, and Order of Eastern Star.
  Surviving besides her two sisters, Mrs. Walter French and Mrs. Duard Henderson, both of Herkimer, are three daughtes, Mrs. John N. Stark, Waterbury: Vt.; Mrs. James O. Stiles, San Diego Calif.; Mrs. John Knight, Honolulu, Hawaii: and 18 grandchildren.
  Rev. William E. Montgomery, First Presbyterian Church pastor, will conduct services tomorrow from the Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 341 Glen St., Glens Falls, where friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight. Burial will be in Pine View Cemetery, Glens Falls.
  Friends may donate to the memorial scholarship fund of the First Presbyterian Church in memory of Mrs. Allen.

  Sherwood D. Allen, Glens Falls, whose mother and sister are Utica residents, died Sept. 25, 1957, at his home after a long illness.
  Mr. Allen, a teacher in the manual training department of the Glens Falls schools for more than 25 years, was born in Frankfort 62 years ago, a son of Mame Allen and the late Howard Allen. He attended. Frankfort schools and received his teacher's degree at Oswego State Normal School.
  Prior to taking the teaching position to Glens Falls, he had resided in Herkimer. His wife is the former Jessie Folts of Herkimer.
   Besides his wife and mother, he leaves three daughters and a sister, Carrie, wife of Albert Gabel, 18 cottage Pl., with whom his mother resides.
  The funeral will be held at 2, Saturday in Glens Falls.

   Saturday, at high noon, at the home of Mrs. Joseph Oster on Henry street, took place the marriage of her daughter, Jessie Luclnda Folts, to Sherwood D. Allen, son of Howard Allen Frankfort. The nuptial knot was tied by Rev. W. M. Hyden, and the attending couple was Miss Lillian Folts, sister of the bride and Walter French of this village. Little Miss Janet Weir, niece of the bride, acted as flower girl, and the wedding march form Lohengrin was rendered by Miss Marian Haller and Miss Rachel Hyer.
  Following the ceremony a reception was held, after which the young couple left for Lime Kiln Lake, where the honeymoon will be spent.
  Mrs. Allen is a well known and popular Herkimer girl, a graduate of the local High School and of Albany State Normal College. She has recently been employed in the N. Y. C. office here. The groom is employed by the Savage Arms Company and is well and favorably known both here and in his home town of Frankfort. Many friends, will extend congratulations.

  Duard T. Henderson, 80, of 4227 Pine Grove Road, East Herkimer, a retired Herkimer Post Office clerk, died yesterday in Herkimer Memorial Hospital.
  He was born on Sept. 5, 1900 in Salisbury, the son of William and Adeline Comstock Henderson. He married Lura Foils on June 23, 1926. Mrs. Henderson died on Oct. 11. 1968.
   Mr. Henderson retired from the post office in 1963, after more than 30 years employment there. He was a member of the Herkimer Masonic Lodge and was active in both the Masonic and Post Office Bowling Leagues. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
   He leaves a son. Duard T. Henderson. Jr., Herkimer, RD 1: two daughters. Mrs. Frank (Sally) Cimino, East Herkimer, and Mrs. David (Lura Fay) MacDermott. Binghamton: a sister. Mrs. Dennis (Ethel) Brant, Herkimer; six grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.
  Funeral services will be held at 10 a m. Monday from the Fenner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merle O. Brown, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Salisbury Rural Cemetery.

  Word was received here last night of the death yesterday in Syracuse of Roy S. Lyon, 65, a former Herkimer contractor and hotel proprietor, who had been residing in Syracuse for the past ten years.
  Mr. Lyon, who had been in ill health for some time, built the Prospect Hotel and Lyon Apartments here, and for some time operated the hotel before selling it to Thomas Anderson about 13 years ago.
  As a contractor, he had also constructed a number of local homes and apartment buildings here, mostly during the '20's, many of them in the W. German St., area, which was then being built up. In Syracuse, he had also done some contracting work.
  Born in Herkimer, on April 7, 1892, a son of the late William and Kate Petrie Lyon, he had resided here most of his life until moving to Syracuse. He was a member of the Masons and the Methodist Church.
  He leaves his wife, the former Florence Brown; two sisters, Miss Ruby Lyon, Herkimer, and Mrs. Anna Conelly, Los Angeles, Calif., and several neices.
  Services will be held Monday in Syracuse.
