- RICHFIELD SPRINGS, April 29, The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Piper Babcock occured at the home of her nieces. the misses Comstock in Church street on Saturday evening, a brief illness termi natihg 86 years of usefulness and loving service. Mrs. Babcock was the daughter of Peter and Dorothy Piper and was bom in the town of Columbia, two sisters and four brothers comprising the remainder of the family. She conducted millinery shops in Cedarville, Springfield and this village, and in 1870 she was married to John Babcock of Fulton, where she resided until she came here in 1903 to live with her neices. She was interested in the Universalist Church during her aetive years. There survive her four neices of this village, Miss Ella J. Comstock, Miss Mary Comstock, Miss Junta Comstock, Mrs. Herny Greenman; four nephews. William Piper of this village, Giles F. Piper and J. Piper of Fulton and Fred Piper of Oswego, and also a step-daugher. Mrs. M. D. Cornwall of Merchantville, N. J. The funeral service will be held from her late home to-morrow evening at 7:30.
